This is great!, it really illustrates just how complex PEOPLE are and therefore how delusional it is to attempt to stuff everyone into a simple box defined by a few ill-defined "traits" based on casual observation and without a thorough understanding of their experience, with the expectation of "making them normal" (whatever TF THAT is- ughh). I also recognize that it must be very difficult for a therapist to make sense of another's perspective which is so different from their own experience, especially when it may be so difficult for that person to deeply understand their own experience or to articulate it in a way that conveys the underlying cause which they may not even be aware of (due to dissociation, repressed memory, or simply an inability to process and learn a concept due to neurodivergence or lack of the basic building blocks of context as in socialization deficits). One person's condition may be considered more "severe" due to some reported or observed difficulty or behavior while another may have a more complex problem with even more "severe" psychology that causes deep suffering or quality of life deficiencies that are so well hidden (masked) that nobody sees that there even is a problem. If it isn't causing SOMEONE ELSE inconvenience, it generally "doesn't exist", so the practices, behaviors, and attitudes that cause the injuries leading to silent suffering are repeated, accepted without question as "normal and proper", and continue to do damage intergenerationally. Some have needs for physical accomodations, whether it is due to a neurological difference or a psychological condition derived from trauma shouldn't be the defining criteria for determination. But what would be just and beneficial to all is a culture and attitude of interest, accomodation, and care for people who offer no direct benefit or "threat" to our daily lives- be assured, if their lives are less rewarding to them due to the indifference of others, the potential gifts they would otherwise make available will be absent and the world will suffer their silent loss and remain unaware of that, too. Notice. Question. Listen. Understand. Care , for no reason at all. It only improves if WE do. I find it curious that Dr. Elinor has observed that her schizoid clients are the only ones who accurately diagnose themselves, and that alone could offer a lot of useful insight into the schizoid mind if we knew exactly what factors lead to that accuracy. I would REALLY like to hear more of her observations and conclusions on that subject based on her experience working with schizoid and other types of clients. How is it that we can be so insightful while supposedly being simultaneously dissociated from so much of our own experience? Especially with a condition that has relatively little research findings to study, and much of it based on unqualified assumptions and incorrect criteria. What qualities peculiar to schizoids make such accurate self-analysis possible given our divided nature? The world needs to know (thinking way back to an early comment I made about the need for new management 😉- is it our turn yet?) Thanks Penzy, great video. I like the outro music too, soothingly atmospheric with just the right amount of eerie surreallist melody for a meditative thinking session. 👍

Yes, so much complexity to this issue. I will be looking deeper into some of these seeming contradictions.

Sure... One of the reasons why, I divided this interview into multiple parts, was to clearly categorize the various areas of discussion and to also give viewers the option of watching the topic areas that most interest them, in the order that they prefer.

@@SchizoidVision I personally enjoy this method and don't mind it, it gives me something interesting to watch on different days, rather than binge-watching it all and forgetting about it.
