Love the passion and conviction Dr. Lyon brings to this all-important protein/exercise/muscle preservation message outlined here. As a CPT focused on Seniors, there is a big difference in those who resistance train and take in higher levels of protein and those who do not. The difference becomes vast and obvious as we age. Send this to those you care about. The slides of various muscle composition - very telling. The protein distribution and levels - great information. Impactful presentation. Thank you for posting!

Thanksgiving presented as a window that I am hoping can become a door. As I thrive it is difficult to watch those around me succumb. Metabolic dyscrasias abound as the compensatory mechanisms bring forth a house of cards. One deficiency or an outside influence will bring the house down. Thank you for this introduction! Often the start of the path is most difficult to find. It does seem that once you get on the path your destination is reachable.

Reading the chart at 29:00 minutes, the 1g/pound comes to 2.2 g/kg, which is higher than the values on the chart for both endurance athletes and strength athletes. This doesn't add up. Who is this directed at?

So older people have less calorie need and at the same time they're less efficient at utilizing protein. They should eat very protein dense meal. I think very few older people do this. Imagine how many elderly that are frail, totally unnecessarily.

How does this gel for the IMMENSE number of us living with cancer. Half of us in western populations will have a diagnosis of cancer at some time in their life but there's never even passing mention or acknowledgement

Red meat does not cause cancer, processed foods, seed oils and sugar does. Many have gone carnivore just to heal their cancer with great success.

Protein and fat have very little to do with cancer, but carbohydrates and sugar certainly do. Research Dr Thomas Seyfried (cancer as a metabolic disease) for all things that have to do with cancer and adopting a very very low carbohydrate lifestyle.
@cassieoz170211 ай бұрын
@@tchamp9678 ot completely true. I'm referring to the work of Thomas Seyfried and the fact that most cancers thrive on glutamate. His current work is attempting to define 'when, what drug (DOM etc)' to interrupt the protein based arm of cancer metabolism in his press=pulse approach. Differetumours have different degrees of reliance on glucose +/- glutamate for growth.

If you really want to know days etc., check out get channel, the interviews she and Dr. Layman have to numerous YT channels. They share enough info to last you a lifetime

Dr Sean omera is the man we need to discuss muscle and visceral fat. This woman is too annoying for me. I switched off after 10 minutes. She's insufferable.
