Love "The Fasting Method" Podcast. Don't get to see you two so this was nice to put a face to the voice.

Time restricted eating has been a great addition to my healing progress, letting go the habits of frequent snacks. I appreciate the understanding of the way the digestive system works and the need to reduce the constant insulin flow to give the body a rest between proper meals.

I naturally fell into OMAD with about a 3 hour window. I'll eat about 2 lbs of ribeye (or something similar) with a slice of calf liver and some pork skins/cracklins during that window. I never felt better in my life at 53. I am getting more jacked and cut than I was at my peak in my early 20s. Weighed 305 with so many health issues. Now weigh 218, and all issues are resolved. Carnivore is a game changer.

I’m 53 (6ft male) too and 7 months ago I weighed 339lb (154kg) with serious metabolic diseases as well as severe mental issues (chronic pain being the main cause). Now after meat only (Lion diet) Carnivore, salt, only water I weigh 229lb (104kg). Dropped all meds after the first month, including antidepressants. Depression has improved greatly, but the primary cause (lower back pain) is still there and dealing with that is a huge challenge. I am much more positive and I plan to continue losing weight and increasing exercise. Loving the freedom of not having those carb cravings and being on that 3 plus meal a day merry-go-round. Keep strong my friend, Happy New Year, kind regards from 🇦🇺

@martinlang9615 my lower back pain was from a weak back from years of sitting on my ass. It's gone now, but it took a lot of pretty sore days to get here. Best wishes, my carnivore brother!

Your 3 hour window isn't OMAD. Net definition.... This extreme intermittent fasting method limits your eating window to only one hour per day.

@felipearbustopotd didn't really care, but ok. Changes nothing for me.

I mean... obviously, taking two meals a day 8 hours apart is going to be way better than "grazing" for 8 hours straight. I would hope that people realize that already. Personally I don't fast at all, but I've been on OMAD for over six years.

I actually do this naturally after implementing IF. I've fallen into an 18-6 schedule. I'll either have a light lunch that just gets me by until a satiating dinner or vice versa. I'm getting used to these acronyms but I'll do 2MAD with no snacking in-between. Unfortunately this is the best I can do living with a family that eats like typical Americans. If I were single I could do greater than OMAD. 53 year old male went from 197 to 157 (so far) and now fall into the LMHP category. Doing Dr. Eric Berg's keto. Solved all of my health problems, mainly gout, prostate, and joint issues. I'm doing resistance band training and can now do 30 pull-ups (per set of 3). I would kick my 26 year-old's butt.

Lovely! I like her presentation. I think she has said a lot! No eating, means…NO EATING.

Any eating change has to be doable. Not purgatory. That's why calorie reduction diets rarely work, as you end up constantly craving. I did 5:2 fasting (600 calories on fasting days) for a few years before my Insulin Resistance subsided enough to start doing time restricted and then 2mad. My Insulin driven hunger has subsided enough now, after 11 years, that I could easily do omad.

What's the difference between IF and TRE if I eat two meals in a six hour window? TRE is basically IF.

Since I do extended fasting for autophagy, the fluids that I can drink during the fast is more restricted than this list.

Same as our GP doctor accusing ppl not following the protocol, in 6-8 hours windows eating many snacks, how do you know that? And not some other factors like high cortisol or Thyroid issue?

Where is the evidence that flavored water raises insulin when in my experience zero calorie waters do not raise blood sugar? I'm sure there might be particular ingredients that might do so. But since there is no such thing as a continuous insulin monitor to test our own response, it would be more helpful to know what those insulin raising ingredients are. So we can avoid waters with them. Especially if the supposed inability to drink flavored water is the one think that is keeping someone from being able to withstand a fast.

It could be an individual expression of genes in the environment that they find themselves at that time, rather than a constant thing. A continuous glucose monitor will certainly sort out. What is what with those that need to do special glucose control, for example, diabetes. Cheers

She would benefit from presentation skills training and also fully rehearsing her presentation so she gets rid of all the 'filling' material which adds no value and indeed leads to listeners rolling their eyes.

Yeah, TRE = IF. The End. I paused, not even one minute into this, to read comments. I won't be watching any more of this drivel. Fasting is simple. Stop complicating the issue so you can suck money out of people.

So basic as to be useless. NOT worthy of a Conference. Tone of voice is ‘yelling’. Stopped watching; can’t waste my time any more. I saw all this on various videos over the last 10 years.
