The BEST thing is to seek help from those who are experts in mental health FIRST. Second: since mental health posts are commonplace, when someone regardless of age, sees something regarding mental health issues should seek the advice of mental health experts (i.e. psychiatrists and psychologists) BEFORE making a decision in when it comes to ANY diagnosis.

I'm literally asking my daughter right now to stop watching tic tok and I'm getting into an argument with my partner over it, apparently I'm out of order taking my daughters phone off her so she can read a book, apparently my daughter needs music to read a book

There needs to be a level of trust from a parent at a certain age, if you've given them a phone and access to the internet I expect them to be old enough for you expect them to have good sense to use that wisely , if they're consuming content that's having a serious negative effect on them then that's why you have a right to step in and lead her on a better path but you don't need to completely devoid her of her phone which she has had free access too up until this time , there certainly needs to be better distractions around them for them to not be on tiktok all the time so there needs to be a real incentive bc tiktok is designed by people to keep your attention at every cost so it's really challenging , it's just like a slot machine and it's a real addictive pattern of behaviour so it'd hard to just cut that off , it needs to be managed and streamlined and devalued in a sense as well, strip it of its power and show them the other side and do other engaging things and if that doesn't work then you heed to let them dive right in, it's a certain age thing and we are all just following trends, but if they have good people and peers they will be okay, even if it's negative content they are consuming , as long as they are off the streets and rubbing shoulders with good people then it's not going to be an issue in the long run, lol thanks for listening I have a Lot of hope for critical thinking in a sense that surely we know not to use these things as a primary resource, they're designed to keep your attention and outrage you

🇦🇺 is investigating banning social network for youth under the age of 14. It's a very complex issue I look forward to us getting our heads around.

It's sad that TikToker Connor DeWolfe (purveyor of ADHD falsehoods and generalizations) has been using his fans to attack Dr. Inna recently because she hurt his feelings. She didn't even do anything wrong. She just debunked one of his many, many claims.
