What about inter set stretching? I saw a video where Jeff Nippard talked about a study that showed it can increase flexibility, hypertrophy with no apparent down side. I saw another article on it where they talked about other studies that showed inter set stretching also had no negative effect on strength during the workout and no loss in strength gains over time.

I think, and correct me if I’m wrong, Dr. Mike states that just adding in the deep stretch under load during your lifts creates that same effect of just stretching between sets, and you can just focus on resting to get another good productive set.

Both yoga and gymnastics require controlled movements. Yoga is also an example of flexibility combined with mobility.

I think he meant controlled in the sense that you need to exert a super high force in order to control that position

Well that sucks, I was under the impression that there might even be some evidence to stretching after workout or at the night helping recovery (I believe the idea was the introduction of bloodflow into the areas).

How should I program flexibility training? Frequency, intensity, duration of hold, number of reps? My hams prevent me from sitting comfortably on the ground, and it's so hard to find reliable information on how to improve my hip flexion ROM.

Nice video as always! Can you lay down an example of a weekly plan where you spread your flexibility, strengthening and technique work? Thanks in advance

In the gym you can do straight leg deadlifts, when done properly are a great hamstring exercise. I use them to loosen up my hamstrings when really tight. For static stretching I like a forward fold. If you can’t feel your hamstrings lengthening at all go see a physio or watch some hamstring release videos. I used to need my wife to stand on my hamstring to release it cause nothing would help.

@@blacksa160 Did that help with flexibility going sideways? Forward splits are easy for me, but not the slide splits.
