I’m sad to hear the passing of Dr. Joella Utley recently. Such an amiable woman. I became aquatinted and later friends with the family shortly after they moved to Campobello S.C.. I’m so glad I was able enjoy the time that Joella , Joe and , Ben we’re here. Much love to Jennifer and extended family.

Roger, I came upon this video very randomly but so glad I did. I'm Russ Gaffney. My father was a Trumpet Player in Spartanburg and I am an active professional player.. We both used to play in the Spartanburg Symphony with Joe and we had both been to Joe's house on several ocassions. I'd love to chat with you more.

SURPRISED to see Don McComas (4:14) Asst Principal Trumpet of the Philadelphia Orchestra. Don has a "flat top" haircut and makes a comment to Roger about the trumpet Frank is playing (with reverse bell). BTW -- I studied with Don for ~2 years via the New School of Music (close to Rittenhouse Square in Phila).
