Fuhrman is talking about making soup ... which I assume is not a raw food? Is that right or not? Cooking food can unlock a lot of nutrition, especially tomatoes. Also making it easier to chew and eat.

I think Dr Fuhrman missed the point about the theory of "good, better, best". Many people, especially when just starting out on a plant based diet, simply WILL NOT drink veggie juices or smoothies. It just won't happen. Readjusting the taste buds from the standard American diet takes time. John is absolutely right ... you have to meet people where they are and help them. This is where "good, better, best" comes in. If that person is NOT going to drink a veggie juice, then it would be GOOD for them to put down the soda pop and drink a fresh fruit juice instead. Is it ideal? No. But it's better than soda pop! It's "Good". Then when that person gets more adjusted to eating more plant based foods, they can start adding a little veggie to their fruit juices .. maybe something mild like cucumbers, celery or baby spinach. That is even BETTER. Eventually ..... (key word here: EVENTUALLY) .......... a person can drink the BEST option which is veggie juices with maybe a little fruit for taste. Dr Fuhrman must realize most people can't jump directly from a standard American diet into drinking straight veggie juices. It's a journey that people WALK ... step by step .... to health. John ..... you are right on the money! Good, Better, Best!! Slow and steady wins the race! 😀🌻🐝

I like to see some honest disagreement in John's videos, it makes them seem more honest and real to me. The ones I do not like are when everyone is stumbling over themselves to agree on everything. They tend to be the ones with the fake nutrition experts a lot of times. i think Fuhrman has worked hard to present a reasonable point of view. Maybe he thinks that some people do the good, better, best thing as a way to think they are doing something when they are really not. Like going to the store and buying something with "natural" on the label fools people sometimes.

Shouldn't Dr. Joel Fuhrman be informing us on the SCIENCE behind "slow Juicing" and "Vacuum" Blending ..? ? His recipes are fine and great but I was hoping for more.

Can somebody explain what Dr. Joel Fuhrman meant from 7:51-8:11? So what's the right way to make soup to receive the most nutrients? Thanks!

It will be interesting to hear Dr. Fuhrman's experience on whether with a vacuum blender his hemp milk will last longer? Please follow up on that John.

Sheesh ... if you do not have time to chew a salad, how do you have time to get out the juicer, wash, clean and cut up the produce, feed it into the juicer, reset it if it jams, and then clean it? ;-)

Hey I just recently had this crazy idea. What if under correct nutritional situations dental plaque is beneficial to us? Not sure if it’s true I’m not a dentist or whatever. What if besides the fluoride for disabling our natural built in tooth brush also scrubbing the plaque is effecting something. Like does that House our microbiom? The teeth’s natural defense? Do you brush with fluoride or baking soda or something else? How are your teeth on a juice heavy diet? In the last 10 year’s how many cavities have you gotten? I’m wondering because I am trying to heal my teeth. And what I learned about health is what I learned about math. Take what the teacher tells you and throw it in the trash. (X can only be one number, you can’t divide by zero.. and so on. Things said in context were true but in the bigger picture were false. I only did good in math when I said my teacher is always a lier and I can do whatever. Because our teachers always gave restrictions and broke them in the next years math class making my head spin).

Scuba 453. Dr. Fuhrman provides the best nut-based salad dressings hands down! You can also try the foodbabde.com site She provides good recipes also. My choice is Dr. Fuhrman. drfuhrman.com You can get access to the website via membership. The best way is to buy the "eat to live" collection that is sold through PBS station WLIW21 they offer a monthly payment plan for 12 months for the collection. The collection is not that expensive which includes, books, DVDs and a membership access to the website where you can get all kinds of recipes and lots of health information library. Check your local PBS station for the next showing of the "Eat to Live with Joel Fuhrman, MD. June 16th is listed for mine in New York. Hope this helps. Email me if you need some help gregpaulmoore@gmail.com.

I find Fuhrman has the nutrition ideas that I find make the most sense. He does not seem to believe that either juicing or blending are that great as compared with a real diet of whole foods. I prefer blending because it keeps the fiber in my food. It is also easier to clean or rinse out a blender than it is a juicer. I do not use my juicer, so I tend to think that John is pushing juicers with a hard sell because he makes his living off it. Consequently you get all these ridiculous enhancements like vacuum blending or other flashy bells and whistles that drive the American economy. I would disagree with him that once you are programmed into the American diet that one ever loses their taste for Cokes, or the strong chemical flavors one grows up with - sadly. I can go a year without drinking a Coke, but as soon as I might have a sip it all comes back to me. It is very dangerous. I wish I had never been fed these foods, they are like heroin or nicotine or even caffeine - they are addictive drugs that do nothing for us at best and at worst cultivate chronic diseases that will eventually kill us. That is what our country has evolved into, and all the other garbage falls out from these bad ideas that put money before people.

While I do make my living off selling BOTH juicers and blenders, I would push juicing regardless. Juicing helped to save my life. I hear the benefits in peoples lives that I sell juicers too. Weight loss, disease reversal, feeling better are some of the common testimonials I get. To learn why I favor juicing over blending, see: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iHmoYaeDaKh6abc I have personally seen and experienced the difference in taste, flavor, nutrition and storage attributes, and feel vacuum blenders are also quite useful. I just want people to blend or juice more to displace the junk foods or animal foods in excess they would normally eat, even if they dont buy a appliance from me. (but hopefully they would) I have videos on how people can make their own vaccum blender for $20 because I feel the technology is so important and revolutionary.

Hi John. You make some good points. I feel like the vacuum blenders are over-hyped myself. There might be a small effect, but I do not believe it is significant. I also think that, and maybe even agree with you, that juicing and blending are ways to increase nutrition for normal people who do not know much about it and seek to change bad habits. I just find that my juicer that I spent a lot of money on I do not use, and other people I know that bought them do not use them. Maybe they are unnecessary, or represent a desire in people more than a real solution. When you look at the energy, resources and money to go to juicers and how much they get used I think it is a net negative. I don't have facts to back that up, but it's a hunch based on so many people's juicers I have seen stuck in a top or bottom shelf and never used. I think you have good nutritional habits and if you could never juice again you would be fine. You discovered what works for you. I think eating raw is kind of extreme, but like Jack LaLanne said, "if it tastes good, spit it out". Our whole Western paradigm is based on instilling bad habits that kills us, and makes money for other people. That really makes me sad every day, plus the fact that I got hooked on this junk a long time before I knew how bad it was. Like a crack baby. Junk food is insidious. Maybe food is not meant to be a drug-like experience. Anyway, I appreciate your videos even if I do not agree with everything you say, you mean well and are doing something positive. But when one's life depends on seeing or not seeing something we tend to be biased and maybe not even know it. Have a good one.
