I vividly remember this SS AIR concert which i was listening to way back in 1988 when Mysore Nagaraj was new to the carnatic world and was resembling more like MSG.!! excellent concert overall.

A few more questions for you: 1) Were there any songs in this recital that you listened for the first time? 2) What was/is your favorite krithi? 3) What were the other things that jumped out at you? ex. the small kanda gathi portion of the kAnaDA swaraprastara. 4) How will you remember this recital? Though Chembai is the one who took Dasettan under his wing, I firmly believe it is Dr. BMK who became a great inspiration to him. You will find some of the characteristics of muraLi gANam in Dasettan gANam, especially in alapana, krithi and swarams. In addition, the ability to bring back the past composers/vaggeyakkaras back to life and to bring something new and fresh each time. I ask that you please listen to the Dr. BMK uploads on this channel and comment. You will see my point.

I had heard this around years back through a casette . Did he sing Alakalalla ladaga of Madhyamavati also in this concert?
