I live close by to this park so I’m there regularly but I’ve Never seen that pond before!! There’s a spot near one of the trailheads where you’ll find a patch of watermelons growling

It's been a while since I've been on this trail. It might just be an empty bowl instead of a pond now lol 😅.

Pedal strikes ? I got some Lekkie160mm crank arms and really like ‘em. And the non drive side is offset outwards which helps. And overall more efficient pedaling. Anyway SoCal looks very pretty after a good rain. I may have to visit home one day.

Yeah we get pedal strikes quite often. I've recently purchased 165mm crank arms just awaiting arrival. Tried looking for other brands but could only find 170mm. Just checked out the Lekkie 160mm and it fixes the Q-factor!! I wish I knew that before buying the Shimano FC-E5010 165mm crank arms, although the Lekkie is a bit pricey. That's good to know about the Q-factor fix. Didn't bother us much while pedaling, it was only during pedal strikes with the wider stance when it was noticeable. Thanks for sharing that info!! And yeah, I love the days after a good rain... everything just looks so fresh and clean on the trails. SoCal is nice, just getting waaaay too crowded lol. Best to be on the trails away from cars! 👍🤘

That was a quick downhill, lol . Rode that trail about a year ago , it was pretty rutted then. Looked pretty narly now . Nice try fellas.

Yeah lol the GoPro battery had died right at the beginning of the downhill. There wasn't much to see anyway as we had to constantly jump off our bikes to carry them over the HUGE ruts lol. Hopefully one day in the future when those ruts fill up, we can go back and do a better run through this trail. Beautiful view at the top though and currently great for hiking, not so much cycling. Thanks for commenting!

Hey thanks for the trail recommendation! Do you have the exact trail name or a park location where this trail is at? I've been around Newhall but not in a long while. Placerita Canyon Park trail was the only one I've done in Newhall.

How was your new single speed gear in back? I am getting ready to do the same I am single speed but using a cluster and the big gear is in the middle. I want something cleaner like yours. Fun ride along!

Hello and thank you for commenting! So far loving the 34T rear SS setup. Since I'm mostly on hilly trails I rarely spin out my legs and usually on PA3 for the hills with the Bafang motor. Here is the episode of when I converted to this setup if you haven't seen it already. In the description are all the links to the products used. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qJqZnaSBYtxjrtE What setup are you running? Bafang? Hardtail? FS?

Thanks for the response! So I have a Banshee Darkside Downhill bike, with a Luna Cycles Mini-Cyclone 2000-watt motor. I live here in Colorado and want to pedal up with some assistance, to enjoy the great downhill runs. Like you, I went through 2 derailers and because of alignment issues, I had to run the middle sprocket. I too the rear sprocket apart and arranged my big rear gear in line with the front sprocket. I put on the same tensioner that you use and am still tweaking everything. It's cold here now, so I am planning how to be more reliable and your sprocket setup with spacers looks like the way to go! Thanks for the link, I will watch it and look at the products you used. Thanks for fun content! Jeff

@@MrJhbowman Ahhh!!! A DH ebike setup! Would LOVE to have that setup as Alvin and I like to ride DH over uphills. That's the whole reason why we got the Bafang kits lol. But how did you mount your battery? Backpack? Yup ditch the derailleur but since your bike is a full sus, the tensioner I'm using may not be good. You'll need one with a tensioner spring to allow the rear suspension to work. With the tensioner I'm using it's meant for hardtail mtbs. Since you're in it for the DH, just get a big enough sprocket for the rear to do the climbs and coast on the downhills. I'm learning to go faster by staying off the brakes 🤘😂🤙. Happy to help a fellow rider. Enjoy and ride safe! 👍
