Thank y'all. Golden Motor gave me a locked firmware. They set it to 52V, but I wasn't able to connect to the Bafang Config Tool. Your firmware fixed my problem. Thanks again. Now I'm bout to test out my new profile. Hopefully I won't die.

I'm buying one of those !!! I have a c965, but it turns out that the 52v switching thing isn't a big problem for me (as far as I know). The 500c DOES let you control how long it takes (or even if) the system to turn itself off. The c965 turns everything off after about a minute inactive and it can't be changed. That sucks at a long red light having to flip the + and - buttons just to keep it on!

Hey, I know you're pissed and I understand how you're feeling but you can't blame us for this. We'll do what we can to get you back up and running but somewhere either your setup or a step was missed when you did the update to your Bafang controller.

You can get the 48v controller firmware from endless Sphere, it's from bafang, it will give the correct battery level when using a 48v battery, you can change the max current from 28a to 30a.

On the bike we are doing the tuning on, it's a 52v battery but shows 48v on the controller and app. With the Speeed app we were able to change it from 28a to 30a aswell but it still showed 48v even with the 48 to 52v firmware update. That's what we are trying to figure out still. To see if once it shows 52v, it'll have even more power.

@@FirstTimersCycling my BBSHD has a 52v controller and for that reason it would never show a fully charged 48v battery as 100%, it displayed it as 70% charged, but it also showed a max current of 28amps which I couldn't change with the app or laptop, that was until I flashed the 48v firmware to fix my battery display charge level, then it allowed me to up the current to 30amps. Maybe your controller is rated at 48v and doesn't recognise a 52v battery, have you measured the voltage at the battery terminals to see it's a 52v battery, I guess you should see around 58v, as I get 54.6v on my 48v battery.

Hi guys, Thanks for the video and the files.I had same xperience with the Golden Motor files. could not connect with the configuration software, I used the file from Endless Sphere also to end up with an error07 (overvoltage) Im assuming that file is for a 48v battery set up. I am running BBHDS 1000w 52volt 20a. Your file, that looks newer as far as numbers go did the trick. No more error07 and configuation software connects without issue! Cheers

Hi there and thanks for sharing your experience! All files used on Alvin's bike was on a 52v 1000w BBSHD setup. Mine (Hiro) is a 48v setup but I haven't hacked my Bafang yet. Glad the up to date file fixed your error!

Hello there, to answer your question, not really sure. Never really thought about it. Bafang setups are pretty solid as is in stock form and firmware. The mods are for those who are comfortable and wanting to tweak things to get the most out of it. Again, Alvin's bafang is modified. Mine isn't and I'm fine with that. To each their own I guess.

Great resource. My question is about the Bafang motor. Most hub motors are taken from the bafang design if not outright a copy of. Will this tuner work on those cloned Bafang motors too? I cant find this answer anywhere, can you help out?

Wish I could answer that question, but I don't know. We've only dealt with the 48v and 52v bbshd mid drive bafang motors. Might want to reach out to Golden Motors as they might know better. Sorry!

Word of advise is just installed the new 32amp controller and then set it to my 52v battery set up ,this had a negative effect on my battery power so when I reset to 48v using the same settings it put the battery back to ful, power and running at almost 54v , in top gear it runs off throttle power no weight 50 miles per hour wheel speed , less is more guys

I wish I could say yes, but we don't know these motors compatibility to different battery voltages. Might want to ask Golden Motor who creates firmware for the bafang and is highly knowledgeable! Hope this helps!

Would be nice to have a kind of police panic button (pressing + or - for a while) allowing to limit the overall speed to 15 mph.. In my country, police stop many e-bikes and put them on a rolling road to check..

Hey there, in the description field of this video there is another link to the firmware update provided by Golden Motors. If the updated one is throwing that 30H error, try reverting back to what works. The one from Golden Motors should work, it just didn't allow tweaking of the settings via Speeed app from the phone. @@FirstTimersCycling hi thanks for the reply thing is it will not connect to the program because of the 30H it will not connect to the software so I can not revert back to anything. I think I have a brick,oh and have tried a new display still 30H also re did all the connections changed the wire harness. Thing is though pedal assist still works though I get no battery voltage and no speed indicating.any ideas.also I'm on a 48v battery 21Ah by the way my controller is a Bafang LD-BG-AK007 22A 48V

@@ManMan-b5y5c Aw damn. That sucks. The videos we posted was for a 52v setup not a 48v. Alvin's ebike is a 52v battery but we read that the motor uses a 48v firmware so we had to upgrade it from 48 -> 52. This may be why yours is showing 30H as the firmware you installed is for a 52v. Might want to try reaching out to Goldenmotors to see if they have a base 48v firmware you can upload. That should bring things back to default hopefully. I hope that helps.

Can someone point me in the right direction? I have a M620 and the throttle will only engage when I'm going 5km per hour or so. I do a lot of washed out roads with large rocks so is there a firmware solution to enable instant throttle? Thanks.

I have not checked if it says 52v in the app but the battery meter now works as it should. Another nice thing to do with the bafang midrives is improving the chainline blingring is one, but changing the ratios on the casette works very well since we gave electric bikes we do not need the ratios to be so close now i have 28,24,21,19,17,15,14,13,12,11 but i will change this to 28,21,19,17,15 did this on my bbs02 without blingring and it worked ok will try it soon on my bbshd. Agreed with the ratios! With them being so close there is no point. We haven't created a custom cassette on Alvin's bike yet and for mine I'm single speed so I just change them before a ride if I know it's going to be hilly or not.

If alvins intressted he could swap the gears putting the ones not used behind towards the spokes and set the limit screw to not use them did that on the bbs02 will print som spacers for the bbshd thinking of replacing the limit screws to something longer so that i only can use 3-5gears ibstead of 10 -2 last ones

@@sketchysticks1127 Working great! 46t front and 34t rear. Only time it sucks is riding flats but then I just up the PA and ghost pedal 😅. It's good on the uphills, I almost want to try a 36 or 42t in the rear for even better climbing capability. About that rear cassette thing you're talking about. Is there a specific brand that allows breaking down the gears like you are saying? Because on his the first 2 or 3 cogs I can see separate but the rest are like riveted on with no center spline. Makes sense what you're saying but I don't think Alvin can do that.

@@FirstTimersCycling there are some sunrace casettes that uses screws. The rest use rivets but i heard that you can drill it out since the splines(unsure of the word) on the hub body holds the gears in place have not tried it myself yet but will soon.

The throttle should take whatever PA1-PA9 you are set at. So if at PA0 you will have no throttle. With this firmware you can connect to the Android Speeed app to reconfigure the throttle as well. We have yet to figure out what will make it show 52v. Hoping somebody would chime in with knowledge on that part.

I got the firmware to flash properly and all is good now. 48v battery shows 100% when fully charged just like it is supposed to. Throttle now working too. WooHoo! Just took a little more time reading everything I could find on the topic. Luna said it couldn't be done... HAHA

I just had my first ride today with the hd, and the sw102. Still charging battery so I can use the I think its the bbs tool thing with the pc. Haven't got a working otg right now but it's on the list. As far as I can see the eggrider and the cyc, these are just sw102 displays with custom firmware? is that correct? Can you educate me a little on firmware stuff, I haven't got my head around that yet, if the stock is fine, or if theres custom stuff available without spending additional money..

Hi there and thank you for commenting! To our understanding, the firmware is on the HD motor itself, not the controller. The stock is fine for most, including myself, but Alvin wanted to be able to go faster and up the output. I believe if you reach out to Golden Motors, they should be able to help you with firmware that will work for your setup. We are by no means experts on the subject either, so I'd rather not give you misinformation. What we did was at our own risk and on the systems we purchased just for learning as we enjoy tinkering. Not sure how any other controllers would perform with the firmware update.

Double tap M go into setting on display then scroll down to voltage and change there, there is a pin I can look it up I wrote it down somewhere or it’s on KZbin how I found it, it’s like 1806 or something, if u need it I’ll check meanwhile 1919 is pin on some 1801 is bbshd 52v

such a tight fit for your battery - how did you do it?

Yeah very tight fit. Have to pivot the mount to slide the battery on then pivot the battery back in. Only one screw can be used on the mount to allow pivoting then we use a zip tie to secure the top side of the battery to the down tube of the bike.

Everyone programs the engine, I have the speed locked in the display at 25km/h and programming the engine won't help with that. I am looking for firmware for the c18 display. An unlocked engine with this display also drives a maximum of 25 km/h. It is necessary to reprogram the display. I do not know how. The speed and wheel size value is locked.

Sorry not sure how to help you there. We have only used the C961 controller display system. This one allowed us to modify wheel size and speed as it was not locked.

Hey there, that's a good question because that's not something we did. I'm assuming when you use the tuning software and do an initial scan, that should be the original firmware. Then when you load up the modified firmware to upload that onto the Bafang controller, if you do a scan, you'll notice different numbers. I can't say for sure as like I said, we didn't back up the original firmware.

Hi, could the low cut-off voltage be set lower than 48V-38V in this engine? 13S Samsunf up to 32V would be ok.

Many have stated not to go lower than the recommended low-cut off voltage. They say it puts a strain on battery longevity.

I actually used the speeed app so I could get level 9 throttle all the time but I didn't up the amps because I don't want to blow up my motor I heard some controllers have been blowing up

Originally with the previous firmware, it only allowed 28a for the 52v. The 48v uses 30a. Now that we were able to reconnect back to the Speeed app after the firmware update, we moved it back to 30a with the 52v firmware. Hopefully it doesn't blow anything up but that's why we're testing it.

The Error 30 came on for us on the previous firmware when trying to reconnect to the Speeed App. Had to reload the firmware to clear the code then all was well. The firmware on this episode will allow you to reconnect to the phone app and tune it. And holy crap rear hub, mid drive and front hub lmaooooo, that's mad insane!!

Don't see why not. As long as you have some type of controller, the Speeed app should be able to connect. Can't say for sure though as we only have experience with the setup we have.

Did you get any errors? Did the check scan run at all? Remember you may need to disconnect the battery and refasten it for the check MCU to run the test.

Hi there and thank you for commenting! When you make the Bafang go fast, the battery gets drained faster. It also depends on your gearing and the amount of load you put on the motor. Are you riding on flats? hills? All of that comes into play besides just the battery and motor.

Is there a firmware for BBS02B (750W) that allows setting throttle to 100% even on Level 1 Assist?

Hello and thank you for your question! What allowed for the throttle setting at 100% even on Pedal Assist 1 was the Speeed App. Not totally sure if the app works for all Bafangs but it's worth a shot since it's a free app. I would do some research to see if it's compatible with the 750w. I'd assume the worst case scenario would be that when you attempt to connect to the app via USB to \Bafang controller, it will just say not compatible or error out before you even try to make any changes. Here is the video when we first tried the app and discovered about the throttle setting => kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5W7YmWCeN2FiNE With that being said, you won't need to update the firmware, just connect the existing (stock) controller to the app and tweak the settings. If you get the speed app to connect you can set your throttle to 100% at all times. I've gotten my BBS02b setup this way. If the Speeed app is glitchy there is also a PC program you can run on your laptop that does the same thing

When you hit load take a look at the program The ones and zeros and characters on the right hand side The program is corrupt halfway through the programs it just starts repeating zero's over and over again for 3 pages long I don't know where you got this program from but Pierced to be corrupt

So what happens when you use the .hex file from Golden Motors? goldenmotor.bike/downloads/ This is the firmware we first used as we explained in this video. This one won't allow you to reconnect to any phone apps like the one we used (Speeed App) in another video. We couldn't fine tune the firmware so that's when we were provided the updated one by a viewer who got the update from Golden Motors. Watch the video, the dude even states to contact them and they will send you an updated firmware which is the one in this video.

If the .hex file from Golden Motor doesn't work, try this one I found -> california-ebike.com/pages/updating-bafang-firmware This also has pretty clear instructions. If at least it gets your bike running again, you will have a base map to work with and can play with the other firmware updates again, if you so choose to.

Thanks for trying nothing worked I got control over my bike again But every single map I upload gets locked out as soon as I try to make a change and I have to upload a new map completely locked out every map I've tried

I just want to go back to the original program at least the bike worked can't ride the bike the way it is After downloading the program I'm having a problem with my brick sensors the light and it will no longer read the battery great program

I got the 30H error right after overwriting the firmware, reconnecting the display, then turning it on. Powered up okay, 30H, turned itself off... Totally dead... Wouldn't power back on... Panicked for a minute.. Doing everything from the start a second time fixed it no problem. The only different thing that happened to me was that I could only pick 3.82V as the LVD detect level the first time, not 3.86V. The second time the 3.86V option showed up. Everybody with a 52V battery should do this. Without changing any settings but 28amp to 30 amp, top speed at lvl 9 throttle with wheel off the floor went from 44 mph to 61mph. 17 mph from just 2 amps? My old firmware must have been garbage. Thanks guys!!!
