The last time was more "Hey what if we do a dr mario tournament to the side" because they had the world champ competing in the tetris tournament. Most of the players then were just tetris players picking up dr mario. Right now it's much more planned so good dr mario players are coming specifically for this.

20 years ago i would smoke then like theres no tomorrow,this game and mario bros 3 were the first games my dad bought me,tecnicly mario 3 came bundle with the nes so this was first game, then my tv was black and white so it was inposible at first until i learn the diferents shades,it took me like 10 years to finish all levels but when i played on color tv i was a total beast,hated the game but the music hooked me so i got back for more,played recently on switch but im not at the same level i was,great game tho

Because of the DMWC as a side event last year I picked up Dr. Mario (it's on the NES mini) and played a few rounds. Now I kind of regret that I never payed any attention to it when I was younger. Damn wish I could play these guys and gals. I'm a high level dr. Mario player, made the top 50 leaderboards on both Wii and 3ds. Currently ranked 33 on the 3ds. Dr.mario and bust a move are among my better games competitively, besides some mk games, burnout, split second. Yeah I'm a selective gamer but mixed lol. Dr. Mario is very underrated. Another great game nobody talks about is tetris attack but also goes by a fea other names in Japan. I suck in classic tetris though lol. Nice matches.

To my knowledge only the 3DS version is still up and running since nobody can travel to any spots right now. Have a link to the discord?
