I wore my new pair of jadon yesterday for 15 hours straight and walked kilometers, although I felt super cute I had to stop every 2 minutes and cry. Four band aids in the back of my feet, 2 thick socks, and duct tape around the outer socks and actual feet helped but I still got blisters.

MF FM hi! They did haha just 2 days ago, I comfortably danced with them without pain, although there were a slight discomfort on one foot, but that was it. My pair is getting there, they are quite wrinkled now, and I’m using less duct tape around my feet now. I hope you didn’t sell them, because the confidence boost when you wear them is everything. Goodluck!

I wore tights, a taller sock that I then folded down against my ankle and under my heel .. then put a ankle sock on top of all of that. I work 9 hour days in retail and this method has worked wonderfully for me. I swear I’ve only worn them 3 full days and they feel pretty comfortable already!!! Honestly I find thick wool like socks move around a lot and rub .. where as tighter socks work a lot better and sit still.

Sadly I sold them on Ebay after I gave up :( I still miss them! I think it would be a good idea to make a video sharing your tips & tricks breaking in shoes! I've never heard of duck tape but that is genius!

Noooo! Yeah I'm worried I may have to sell these on if I can't get them to work! I'm still determined! And yeah I might do! It's mostly just being patient and wearing them a lot around the house 😅

I've been wearing docs for decades. Wear them in the rain with good tight socks, medium weight. Then sit and let them dry. It helps to shape them to your feet better. Even with this trick you have to be patient. Docs are made very good and take a long time to break in. I've got two pair of UK docs that are over eight years old. Still stiff and I've worn them to outdoor muddy concerts, highland games in the rain. I love my docs.

You should use mink oil. Pure mink oil and let it sit on the creases of it. It also keeps them conditioned and prevents cracking in the leather :) Also. I wish I can pull off your style. I LOVE it

dr martens wonder balsam has been amazing in helping to break in my new 1460s (finally broke after 15 years of wanting a pair!) Smother them and leave near a rad and do this every few days for 2 weeks or so and wear inbetween, and mine are already really soft after only a week of wearing an hour here or there around the house

aw man sounds painful! Did you try the burn plasters? They stick to your foot for ages too - I've been wearing them for some docs I got recently and i've showered with them on etc and they haven't shifted and they provide instant relief from rubbing heels. I've got to admit I have had pairs of docs i've gotten rid of before I managed to break them in because I just gave up. I avoid the smooth leather for that reason now!
@Mooseham5 жыл бұрын
yeah, I did! I meant to say blister plasters, I even had it written down! They're fantastic I've used them before. But for whatever reason these shoes DESTROYED them! I'm not sure if my feet just got too hot and they came off or my docs are determined to hurt me! Yeah next time I buy docs I'm going to avoid the smooth leather too, I'm still going to try with them!!

@mareiketietjen34494 жыл бұрын
The greatest tip I have ever got on these is using the Dr martens wonder balm on them! You can get it for like 7€ or so. All you need to do is apply a thin layer on the outside of your boot (and of you want to even on the inside part where it scratches) and then just squeeze and move the leather around as hard as you can, especially in that eara where the thicker ankle support "band" of the shoes end as the leather is super thick here. The shoe will start to absorb the oil from the balm and the leather gets soft Supper easily! I did this with my new docs 3 weeks ago and 1 week later I was able to walk around with them without any pain

iv been told by many people you have to size down in them, I'm normally a 7, but I tried on a size 6 in them and they fit my actual foot fine, they have just slightly pushed against my big toes. Should I go for the 'no pain my gain' method and will they eventually stretch out to fit, or should I go for the 6.5's? thanks hun x

I would love to know if you ever broke them in! I'm going on 2 months owning them and sadly I still am having issues. They fit, they are nice, I done the hacks. I still have that rubbing up against my heel! I keep having to wear 2 pairs of socks when I wear them (I wear them almost 3 days out the week) I never had an issue with my 1460s but these are so frustrating. Or if anyone else knows? I want hope to break them in though I keep just reading online "mine fit right out the box" and that doesn't help me lmao!
@C.C-e4n3 жыл бұрын
I just bought a pair of Jadons (my first pair of docs) about a week ago, and they're definitely uncomfortable. Just wearing them wasn't working for me, they were shredding my heels lol. But today I did something that made them sooo much more comfortable. Still hurts at the heels and next to my pinky toe, but it's so much better already. Basically I take the back area of the shoe, where the really hard, stiff heel part is. I unzip the shoe and loosen the buckles and everything. Then I grab the entire back of the shoe and I bend it all the way back, until it bends over the heel, if that makes sense. I leave it like that for a while and I keep tugging at it and bending it back and forth. In the meantime, I take the palms of my hands and I put all my weight on the front of the shoe, where the toes are. I keep leaning on that area over and over, essentially "squishing" and shaping the leather. Keep doing that over and over, even if you get tired, which you probably will lol. After that, grab the entire shoe in both hands and just bend it in every possible direction. Bend the front of the shoe left, right, all the way back, etc. Keep repeating this process as well. Just keep doing this entire process every day, about ten to fifteen minutes per shoe, and I'm sure it'll feel better in no time. I've only done it once so far and it made a huuuge difference already. I'll keep doing it every day and I'll see how that goes. Let me know if it works for you (: I know some people like breaking in their docs with a hammer but I personally don't want to try that out unless I've tried a more gentle approach first. Sorry for the long text, just wanted to explain it to the best of my ability
