As a Doc wearer from the early 80s I can highly recommend the Balsam or if you want to go old school put them on go and walk thru a river and wear em til they dry.
@jentendo64 Жыл бұрын
Yes ! I loved the Balsam trick! It worked so so well for me . I was very apprehensive at first because I for some reason was worried this Would give me more blisters . But nope! I wear these boots with THIN ankle socks with absolutely NO PAIN! I had to wear 2-3 thick pairs and it would be so painful and so much blisters . But now I can say they’re just as cozy and comfy as any other shoe. These are my go-to shoes !!!

Over the years, I've had many pairs of Dr. Martens. Just use mink oil. Allow time to dry. Brush. Repeat. After a few weeks of oiling, the leather fibers will soften.
@jentendo6420 күн бұрын
that's also another great tip! I think on my next pair I will implement this method since I know they are always needing to be broken in!
@chinatownboy748220 күн бұрын
@jentendo64 Auntie, I do that with all of my shoes. The oil will condition the leather. The shoe will last longer.

Can you do a styling video wearing jadons? Does the balsam darken the boots ? Will it make the boots shiny
@jentendo643 ай бұрын
The boots will not darken from the balsam! Of course you don’t want to put too much or it leaves a film (little goes a looong way) it makes me booty nice and shiny ✨ That’s a great idea btw! I should definitely style the boots for fall since I do love cozy fall fashion ✨
@SereenpowerАй бұрын
Looking at this because I can't get the Wednesday collab out of my head. Is the wonder balm dry enough that you won't feel like you have your socks in vaseline? Thats kind of what I'm scared off lol. I have a pair of Sinclair's (Nappa leather) that I still wear with a paste in cushion patch for the ankle and double socks just to be safe (and I had to take out the zippers because of that which is very sad)
@jentendo64Ай бұрын
It’s not greasy at all! I was WORRIED at first trying this method . But the sales lady at the store told me to use the product lightly (don’t drench or use a glob of this) just a very little amount . Little goes a looooooong way! To ensure this I would put a thin layer and even wait a few minutes before putting it on . But it worked fantastic for me ! I would get blisters like crazyyyy to where I almost wanted to see if I could exchange them . But this method worked for me and now they’re my go-to boots ✨🫧

Great vid, I bought the 1461 Oxford made in England version, my first pair ever, I'm usually a UK 9 but in these the 9 were massive and because they don't do half sizes I had to get size UK8, they fit but my god they are so tight and uncomfortable, I just ordered the Wonder balsam, there's no way I'm wearing them raw to break them in 😂
@jentendo64 Жыл бұрын
Trust I know ! I’m a size 8 and have always been a size 8. Never had any issues with any type of show until these ! The amount of blisters I got 😭😭😭! I dont understand how you can actually wear them with the loose cords =o If i don't tighten them properly my feet will dance inside (will slip up and down at each step and cause sore skin due to that)
@jentendo6411 ай бұрын
Usually I think it’s because I actually wear thick socks, so they’re typically very snug and fit well. So whether they’re loose or not, my feet are always perfectly comfortable because I use again thicker socks (men’s! So they can last longer) but also I’ve broken these shoes and so much that they’re extremely and completely comfortable! No issues at all. They feel like I’m wearing house slippers honestly now since I’ve been wearing them consistently. These are my go to go-to shoes! I highly recommend getting men’s socks in conjunction with these shoes it does make a huge difference for me. Hope this helps🌷☁️!!

I used the wonder Balsam and it worked like magic for me . I would try doing that , putting it on the inside more frequently. Wearing them just to walk around your neighborhood for a week or Two. That way you can break them in without wearing them for long periods of time

Will it also work with fur-lined? Because right now I havw a feeling like I'm wearing two anchors 😢

I wouldn’t recommend with fur line since it might make the fur all stiff ! I would recommend asking a doc martens sales associate online or at the store to see if it’s safe on fur-lined shoes . Or even how to break in fur-lined shoes. Hope this helps !
@batman-m4d2 ай бұрын
Do they crese on the toes?
@jentendo642 ай бұрын
Not at all for me ! This boot is so strong that it doesn’t crease at all on these platforms . But the con is it can be uncomfortable for the toe area since it is so stiff . Also they’re very heavy boots . But for the fall time they’re perfect and applying the balsam helps with the comfort for me . Hope this helps !

Apply a good layer of the balm everywhere on the boot, put 3-4 pairs of thick socks on then tie the boots as tight as you can literally until you can feel a pulse in your foot then walk around your house and in one day they’ll be broke in 🙂

@@jentendo64 yes! Because some people get pain at the back and some people get pain at the front.
