I love his work but I must correct him on one thing. I obviously do not think he was lying about this, but rather that it was some sort of misunderstanding. The controversy he mentioned near the beginning of the talk about Catholics being polarized about the Word of God must have more to the story. I am a a devout Roman Catholic and I can tell you that every single Catholic Mass on Sundays or weekdays has the Scriptures recited and talked about. In fact we even have a 3 year cycle for Sundays and a 2 year cycle for weekdays to go through the New Testament. So I am not sure what the controversy is about that he is referring to, but there is no debate on if Scriptures (a part of our Tradition) should be used in Church. We have used Scriptures during Mass for over 2000 years and are not about to stop now.

It been my understanding the Bible the Catholics use has been revised from the original or KJ Bible
@CatholicK53575 жыл бұрын
@@Phyllis83864 The Catholic Bible translations usually come from the Latin Vulgate. This is because the original Christian writings were most commonly written in Greek and Latin, since Latin was the common language of the western Roman empire. The King James Bible was not written until around the time of the Protestant revolution. So I do not think the Catholic Bibles could be translated from a translation that does not predate it.
