So many story’s, tales, articles and books. No one will ever know what was happening in Elvis’s life. I would say a minimum of 4 people know what actually happened to this beautiful man. When the toxicology report was released, it came with a qualifier: Diazepam, methaqualone, phenobarbital, ethchlorvynol, and ethinamate are below or within their respective ranges. Codeine was present at a level approximately 10 times those concentrations found therapeutically. In view of the polypharmacy aspects, this case must be looked at in terms of the cumulative pharmacological effect of the drugs identified by the report. Because the tox report appeared to contradict the autopsy report’s stated cardiac cause of death, a prominent toxicologist was asked to review the findings. His opinion was: Coupled with this toxicological data are the pathological findings and the reported history that the deceased had been mobile and functional within 8 hours prior to death. Together, all this information points to a conclusion that, whatever tolerance the deceased may have acquired to the many drugs found in his system, the strong probability is that these drugs were the major contribution to his demise. The Tennessee Board of Health then began an investigation into Elvis’s death which resulted in proceedings against Doctor Nick. Evidence showed that during the seven and a half months preceding Elvis’s death - from January 1, 1977, to August 16, 1977 - Doctor Nick wrote prescriptions for Elvis for at least 8,805 pills, tablets, vials, and injectables. Going back to January 1975, the count was 19,012. These numbers might defy belief, but they came from an experienced team of investigators who visited 153 pharmacies and spent 1,090 hours going through 6,570,175 prescriptions and then, with the aid of two secretaries, spent another 1,120 hours organizing the evidence. The drugs included uppers, downers, and powerful painkillers such as Dilaudid, Quaalude, Percodan, Demerol, and Cocaine Hydrochloride in quantities more appropriate for those terminally ill with cancer. Doctor Nick admitted to this. His defense was because Elvis was so wired on pain killers, he prescribed these medications to keep Elvis away from dangerous street drugs, thereby controlling Elvis’s addiction - addiction being a disease. ELVIS WAS A WALKING CHEMIST!

True but the codeine part present that he had 10 times the amount of what ever level they claim, was in his system. It dose not read on the Tox report that the codeine drug was taken just before his death. So the 10 times amount has to have been some kind of build of in his system over a sudden period of time leading up to his death. There most likely were damged to his liver ect from his drug intake through the years. So any codeine pills taken days before could still had been in his system. And what ever he took that morning could have set off the event that lead to his death.
@JMelissaMc
@JMelissaMc 2 жыл бұрын
According to Geraldo's report and the Toxicology, he had been given (took) a fatal dose of Codeine. From what I understand, he got the codeine from a dentist. Did he just get it that night while at the dentist (2 teeth pulled) and why did he take so much? I have had all of my teeth pulled and took Aleve once on the 4th day after. That is ridiculous!!! So, I wonder if this was an accidental overdose because the Codeine was new for that night. . .

Correction, the complete autopsy report has not been released yet, Mr Vernon Presley (Elvis' dad) had it sealed only to be released in 2027 which means that the toxicology report on its' own equals biased information because the illnesses Elvis had that warranted the medicine he was taking is not also taken into account.

Dr. Nick wrote this book for the money, Period! Most everyone knows that when Elvis died Dr. Nick was deeply indebt to both Elvis and to others. He also spent loads of money on legal fees after Elvis's death. He went to court twice and lost his medical license in the second case. I don't think they were very close friends. Elvis saw Dr. Nick as a decent man that was easy to manipulate. Dr. Nick saw Elvis as a cash crop and to a life-style very few will ever experience. The life story of Elvis Presley is really two stories. The life he portrayed to the public when he was alive and the other life after death where the real facts of his live are presented to the public for the first time. I was 16 years old when Elvis died. I also remember up to the time he passed he was thought to be America's Golden Boy. The General Public knew nothing of Elvis's drug use or problems relating to it. However, his Memphis Mafia Crew knew everything and to keep their jobs they were required to keep their mouths closed.

Dr. Ghanem, and several other doctors, out of Las Vegas and Los Angeles, were providing Elvis with whatever he paid for. Dr. Nichopoulos was his primary care physician, and because he could not get these other doctors to share information with him about what they were selling to Elvis, Dr. Nick sometimes didn't even know what to treat Elvis for when he would O.D. Elvis Presley himself is ultimately to blame. As Joe Esposito once said about the situation, "How do you save a man from himself!" According to Dr. Nichopoulos, in his book, Elvis did not die of a heart attack or a drug overdose; he died of a complication due to an enlarged megacolon, which is called a "valsalva maneuver." This was due to a maternal inheritance of mitochondrial disease. His mother died at the age of 46, just four years older than her son.

He was being given multiple drug "packets" (massive, dangerous cocktails) per day by this doctor. Being addicted to a single drug is debilitating enough. Elvis was addicted to all of them. This fantasy of free will, of pulling yourself up by the bootstraps, against odds like that is absolute nonsense. Elvis had no control over his actions in the end. Only those he depended on on a daily basis--his minders, friends, and family, could have saved Elvis. And THEY just didn't. ...or do you think Elvis could have just fired them all, including his father? No one of sufficient importance tried to help him. No one formed a team to help him. No one did an intervention. A few people said a few things in hushed tones. That's not an effort. Get real.

People blame Dr. Nick....bodyguards for not doing anything to help. Those who interfered were told to mind thier own business and or fired. Elvis was addicted to prescription medication..he had his own PDR (Physician's Desk Reference) and knew what pills he could get for what ailment. If Dr. Nick couldn't get it, Elvis would find a doctor that could. To be honest, If there is any blame, I would direct it to Colonel (carny) Parker. He placed Elvis in the cog...and endless touring schedule...the same cities..the same stages over and over. He denied Elvis a world tour as well as more serious movie roles. Turned down a role opposite Barbara Streisand in a remake of "A Star is Born" in the mid 70's. Elvis needed to be challenged. The 1973 satellite special from Hawaii was his last challenge, which he rose to the occasion as we see. After that, Elvis slowly spiraled into an early grave. Had he done these things he wanted, I believe he would still be alive today..or at least live longer than 1977.

Doctor Nick says."Elvis'death has nothing to do with prescription drugs"I don't thing so. Certainly he was a clever physician, a good and caring friend to Elvis, but he gave him TOO MANY PILLS AND DRUGS: : three four at the time and three or four times a day. When he was not there, he asked his aunt Delta, to give other pills, the day before he died. It's true that, at those days,the danger of such medications was not well known, yet a reasonable moderation would have been to be hoped for, especially from a doctor who should know the interferences with various drugs..The drug information leaflets didnt exist at those time? The tragic truth is that the poor Elvis had in his body 14 drugs, when he died!Every body loved him, everybody wanted to help him, but nobody did it.

A Burrows Glad you agreed with me. Gladys death was a tragedy to Elvis and, in my opinion changed all the course of his life.She was the only person whom he listened to.She would warn him against the false friends and parasites that surrounded him,she would advice him to marry Anita Wood, she knew her and appreciated her, she was a Memphis girl who loved him truly who shared with him music, readings, and inner feelings (what Elvis needed about everything, even sex),she knew how to behave with a southern man.Probably he would have not a restless soul and he would not start taking prescription drugs already in Germany.His mother would have noticed it very soon when it was possible to help him.When Anita found Priscilla's almost dayly letters begging him to comvince her parents to let her go to Graceland, she,with dignity, told him and his father hat their relationship was at the end,he replied crying:"I hope that it is not our biggest mistake" Dear friend, these are only my thoughts and my feelings suggested by my love to Elvis.We were not there and only God knows now the truth.

Elvis NEVER became a parody of himself. Elvis got ill. Those weren't gaudy outfits, they were custom works of ART, and each one had a special meaning. They represented HIS RESPECT for the DIVERSITY of his fans. Elvis spoke through his music and clothing attire. He was ALWAYS a trendsetter. Elvis suffered from inflammatory issues that were the cause of him appearing overweight. He really wasn't all that "fat". His enlarged colon and heart (colon was 3 times the normal size of a man his size) were just part of a condition that doctors were just learning to figure out about. It was a small number of THE PEOPLE, cruel people that MADE FUN OF HIM, ruthlessly, that was the parody. THEY were the joke. What Elvis needed was REHAB & REST. 6 months AWAY FROM THE BUSINESS, to lean himself out and see a NEW SET OF DOCTORS and most importantly TO FIRE "Tom Parker" and "Dr Nick". Parker was on the way out... But Dr Nick Elvis placed his trust in. Back then, we blindly trusted all our doctors. Elvis was first in many things. Unfortunately, Elvis TRUSTED his physician. He could never of fathomed that his OWN DOCTOR was feeding him lethal doses (many times over) of painkillers and other pharmaceuticals (instead of DOING THE ACTUAL WORK OF TREATING HIS CONDITIONS -- and recommending THAT ELVIS SEE SPECIALISTS for each ailment). Michael Jackson was killed by his physician in a VERY, VERY similar way. Elvis was repetitively blindsided by PARKER AND NICK, LITERALLY TO DEATH... and they cheated THE WORLD of one of its most BEAUTIFUL & GENEROUS & TALENTED HUMAN BEINGS.

Dr Nick still in denial. He knew the drugs led to his death without any doubt. It was not good Nick would not tell the truth to bad. I don't think Nick ever knew Elvis as someone like Charlie Hodge did. Nick said he never read any other books but he criticised all the ones that came out? From what I know and learned about Elvis I would have to say Charlie Hodge was Elvis Best friend. I could hear the respect Elvis would give to Charlie. Elvis had many friends but I don't think any was as close to Elvis as Charlie. He worked with Elvis on stage and played off stage Elvis said Charlie, your family when Charlie went to see his parents on Christmas Elvis would say, Come on Charlie you always leave on Christmas don't you know your family Charlie? Charlie felt bad and said, but Elvis, I have not seen my mom and Dad in awhile Elvis. Elvis would say, oh ya ok Charlie but I am still mad lol. Charlie would ask Elvis to come but Elvis had other obligations also so they hooked up about a week latter. Did you ever notice after Elvis died you never seen Charlie with any of the other guys that worked with Elvis? No, Charlie knew something we never knew. Charlie never bad mouthed or backbite anyone that I know he was a real freind to Elvis.

I don't believe either that prescription medication was the cause of Elvis's death. I certainly believe Elvis was highly addicted to all the medication that was found in his system and prescribed that's not even up for debate. Dr. Nick is trying to minimize Elvis's addiction problem for one reason I assume is because he was his primary doctor, but it's public knowledge he was prescribed something like 5,000 pills in around a month. The medication did contribute to some of his health issues like the problems with his intestines that's obviously do to an addiction to pain medication. One thing I never understood Charlie Hodge said that Dr. Nick said Elvis had bone cancer which Charlie is the only one I have ever heard say that. Charlie adored Elvis I just don't get why he would say that.

There are several surgical approaches to treat megacolon, such as a colectomy[8] (removal of the entire colon) with ileorectal anastomosis (ligation of the remaining ileum and rectum segments), or a total proctocolectomy (removal of colon, sigmoid and rectum) followed by ileostomy or followed by ileoanal anastomosis.

You should learn to listen better, your summary is inaccurate. Dr Nick was treating Elvis for a multitude of illnesses that were not understood in the 70's. Dr Nick was acquitted in a trial because he could prove that the rumours spread by the media and ignorant "insiders" were lies. Your problem is the same as every other person who listens to main stream media, you are led astray by sensasionalism and suffer from the Mandela effect which means that the lie is so familiar to you that the truth seems unacceptable. Elvis had high blood pressure, he had had 3 silent heart attacks before the 4th one that killed him. The medical condition that killed Elvis was a heart attack, just as the autopsy said.

Do you even know his medical history or are you just judgung from your high horse of ignorance and unempathetic self entitledness? You cope with chronic severe pain without meds, I would love to see you do that. Ask anyone in chronic pain, you do not know until you go through it yourself. For most cancer patients not even morphein works in normal doses after a while because our bodies are physiologically designed to adapt to chemical alterations. Go read a book on physiology, especially chemical function, so that you can get a better understanding.

One of Elvis deals too was he had hereditary thivgs thst plegued him. Elvis would have died anyway. Maybe not as soon. But he would have died in his 40s. He lost his mother died at age 46, and 3 uncles that died in their 40s. It was because of the hereditary diseases in their family. The drugs drugs didn’t help but he would have died before age 50 or shortly into his 50s. The book DESTINED TO DIE YOUNG by Sally Hoaks or something like thst. She did a study about the hereditary stuff in his family and really looked up all the info she got on him and she interviewed allot of people.

I read the book and am none the wiser. Dr Nick seems to be trying to absolve himself with modern day science. 20 years the authorities went after him for which he blames the media. It's established that Elvis could not have died of an overdose but it doesn't mean there wasn't wrongdoing. In today's money Dr Nick received over a million in gifts and loans from Elvis which didn't help his case. Disturbing that he sued Elvis in 1976 but Elvis keeps him on. I've always thought Elvis was ultimately to blame but question if he was in control of his life.
