As a pharmacist, it's exhausting dealing with our instant gratification culture. No one wants to try looking at the "why" with food addiction and obesity. I myself stuggle with these issues, but I continually work on being aware of why I want to eat, I fast, I exercise, etc. .. I wish more practitioners would encourage more lifestyle therapies instead of prescriptions

What does that have to do with you being a PHARMACIST!? And your blanket statement- NO ONE EVER LOOKS AT … isn’t cool. You don’t know what people go thru BECAUSE you are a pharmacist lolol. That’s laughable.

The thing with Ozempic is that it changes disregulated hormones, unfortunately not permanently. I believe many fat people have ‘food addictions’ from disregulated hormones and maybe different things we don’t understand yet. Maybe it’s NOT a moral issue….

@@RabbiGlickexactly all the answers have been coming from the medicine cabinet and the doctors and big pharma will push it till the mega suits come. That will be fine cause they’ve made billions so the payouts won’t really hurt them financially and of course there’s the new meds to treat all the metabolic, muscular and cancer issues to come. It’s a win win for them all and people are just to lazy to do anything else to help themselves. Pretty sad

I completely disagree. I've lost fat (35 lbs) and have never been healthier. My muscles are more defined, my knees dont ache when I work out, my autoimmune disease side effects have almost completely gone away....Mounjaro saved my life. I have 15 more lbs to go & will be stopping the medicine soon. My hormones were all out of whack which made it extremely difficult to lose weight. Additionally, my family history has a broad range of obese women/men. I dont agree someone should take these drugs for a quick 10lb weightloss...however those struggling to lose 50lbs+...its a tool. My body has re-learned to not crave sweets and junk food like it did once before.

Dr. Attia is so intelligent and informative and it’s very impressive how he communicates with balance. He knows what’s unrealistic for people and what would turn them off- in the fitness and health industry it really bothers me when experts pretend like everyone is like them and can mechanically put measures in place, eliminating anything remotely unhealthy. We could technically all do that to a degree, but if a newcomer to health and fitness got that impression, they wouldn’t even try. Also he really shows class here- wouldn’t take the bait when she tried to get him to examine her husbands dad bod on the phone… he appeared a bit uncomfortable but composed like he’s thinking “nahh, here to talk as an expert, not to bash your husbands dad bod, let’s move on” I do enjoy hearing such a high caliber guest talk to more immature hosts. It looks challenging, and i hope this couple matures in their business and relationship

Peter was an extremely, informative, educational guest. He was a wealth of information. I just wrote a long paragraph about the show. However, when I went to edit it, it wouldn’t let me do it so I started over. I’m a Clinical Nurse Practitioner. We administer small amounts of Ozempic & their sister drugs so to speak to only obese patients. So far, we’ve only had 8% favorable outcomes with 92% unfavorable outcomes. Very sad. I work in a major well-known teaching metropolitan Hospital. I agree with him on the supplements. I was happy he didn’t advocate NMN in oral form. I stopped taking about 6 months ago after reviewing the peer-reviewed studies. I eat salmon 4 times a week. I take glycine & Magnesium-Threanate b/c it crosses the blood brain barrier. I have my Vit. D level checked every 6 months. Peter explained Insulin Resistance like you were in school which I thought was FANTASTIC!!!!! I can’t say enough great things about him & this episode in particular. I listen to his podcasts. I listen to podcasts he’s a guest on. I just purchased his book. I can’t wait to read it. Thank you guys. What are your thoughts on Berberine? I work full time and trying to finish nursing school. Was an avid runner but with my busy schedule I can’t get the workouts or long runs in like I used to. Also I don’t eat during the day as it makes me tired and I find that intermittent fasting (fasting all day) keeps me sharper and my energy up for the things I need to get done. I eat late at night but take Berberine before my meal.

I couldn't tolerate Mounjaro or any of the other GLP1 medications. I was terribly sick not just nauseous. It affected my entire lymphatic system. I had a severe inflammatory reaction in my lymphatic system as I continued from week to week. It never went away over the course of 2 months. So I just stopped and continued with working out and going to the gym. Many others I know were successful though.

My current patients have finally become interested in learning about food and a small group stopped using alcohol and or drugs. Just my group on tirzepatide. I did see a girl with BMI 18 go on semaglutide and no weight loss happened. She gained some muscle when she came off. Tirzepatide made many sick usually due to starting at 2.5 recommended dose. Start at 1 or 1.5 someway somehow.

Love listening to Attia. He and Huberman are amazing and don’t seem to overdo the science since some of us have a limit in what we can grasp in an hour of listening. Interesting to me the guys these days can talk an hour with real words. The chicks these days use the F word a lot which is odd. This one is a little vulgar in how she uses it which is the actual act of sex. Most of us use it in frustration. Ah well humans are devolving in many ways I’m curious about testosterone in women but Attia seems to indicate he doesn’t give that to women

It’s kinda shocking to me that since we know the ROOT cause of Insulin Resistance, another MAJOR ‘fix’, besides exercise wasn’t mentioned, which is LOWERING YOUR DIETARY FAT INTAKE. Lowering your daily fat intake to about 10-15% of your calories for day will GREATLY improve your insulin sensitivity & it doesn’t take long for it to significantly lower your fasting blood sugars. I’m a T2 diabetic, 52yo, high insulin resistance, after following a WFPB-low fat diet (
