If this were to be happening as a typical job, her not making as much money as males, yes that would be an issue. Lilly used to be my favourite KZbinr because she was outspoken for girls supporting girls and she was a great tomboy rep for chickies who have seen nothing but girls making content and getting follows because of how they look. She used to be genuinely funny and real. And then she moved to LA and got this big team of people and started speaking about things like racism which is great but not the way she did it. I was absolutely floored by her blatant ignorance and racism in her "geography for a racist" video and I unsubbed a few weeks later. She became a sellout with a platform to spread negativity in the guise of positivity and being "woke". She became a sellout plain and simple. Edit: holy shit almost 700 likes what??? I think Lily is mostly losing subscribers because of this whole Forbes fiasco and the fact that more people have started calling her out. That's at least why I unsubscribed. Like, I wasn't really watching her videos because they weren't as funny as they used to be, but I was still subscribed. I was considering unsubbing for a while (after seeing some of her racist uploads), but I figured I would stay in case she finally uploaded something funny. She's made the biggest mistake of overexposure. When most channels start hitting that 1 million subscribers mark a lot of them start to commit their lives to being behind a camera every single day. It flushes out all creativity and imagination and basically turns channels into nothing but reaction vids, dull pranks, or clickbait vlogs. Podcasts are a good way to keep things going daily with interviews or talking about entertainment and current events. But the real geniuses out there are the channels that are highly creative and keep things down to once or twice a week or even a month so to maximize visual creativity and performance. Lilly Singh may have made it on KZbin but she's become a boring cliche and her spoiled attitude will only do her more harm in the long run.

That's why I love channels like Batinthesun, Screw Attack, and Screen Team. They only make a few videos a month but they make them spectacular.

see, what’s annoying about her is that she doesn’t just alienate her audience, she alienates everyone. i absolutely loved her as a teenager and then she made that first video in the parking garage about white people. i was going through some awful shit at the time and for that to be downplayed like that by someone i looked up to purely because of my race...it hurt. that’s when i stopped watching her. people like lilly are the reason i have my guard up when i’m with someone who talks about their race or gender or sexuality or whatever. it’s one thing to be proud of who you are. i am incredibly proud to be a woman. it makes up so much of who i am. but i don’t hate men. i don’t assume they think they’re better than me. i don’t assume their life is any easier than mine. bc of this toxic victim attitude on social media i’m so nervous around those people. she’s making things so much worse not just for herself, but for everyone. it’s obnoxious as all fuck

I first started following Lilly in late 2014. Her videos was funny, relatable. entertaining to a 19 year old me and she was humble. I enjoyed her vlogs because it was raw, it was entertaining. But then slowly, 1-2 years ago I realized she started putting her other business first before KZbin. And started this huge ramble of apologizing because she didn't have time to do videos when she was busy auditioning. Even when I was still a huge fan of hers, I find her acting cringy so her being rejected in her auditions wasn't huge news to me. She tried so hard to be relevant in traditional media but obviously failed. People said she doesn't change her contents but actually, she does. She did changed her contents, it just got worse. I hate her contents now, it's hardly relatable.
