I'm not saying you can't spoil them every now and then, but they shouldn't expect it from you. For most of our dance competitions, she would dowse herself in spray tan to the point when she was orange, but that's the usual practice for Latin Ballroom. Most people in our class didn't like her either because she was clearly self absorbed, even at her young age. I was completely shocked when I recognized her, but tbh, I'm not surprised this is where her life lead to..

I was told from the age of 15 to 20 by a friend that I have chronic depression. I didn't believe it until I took one of those online assessments. It took another year to get to a doctor to actually diagnose it, so I was self diagnosed for a year. I started recognizing my ADHD symptoms at age 25 (which was around the time I actually learned that the way my brother presented was not the only presentation), but I didn't get officially diagnosed until 29. Based off my symptoms, I strongly believed that I had it, and I would try to use tricks presented by influencers that have ADHD and professionals to help me deal with the symptoms before I could finally see a psychiatrist in 2021. Some helped, some didn't, but I did self diagnose and would say "I probably have ADHD". The fact that literally no person in my life was surprised I got the diagnosis because of the symptoms I presented told me something. Suspecting you have a diagnosis and using techniques that are recommended by professional and actually taking resources away from people who need them or talking over people who have official diagnosis are very different things. The former is what most people who self diagnose actually do, and there's nothing wrong with it. Plus, it's mad expensive to get some things diagnosed as adults. I'm not saying that in this case she was right; obviously she's just making shit up for attention & to get what she wants. It's extremely frustrating as a person with major depressive disorder and seasonal affective disorder to see someone use the pain those diseases have caused me and many of my friends for clout or an excuse. But blanket statements about being able to recognize your own symptoms as "impossible" is also frustrating for me, as a person who was able to recognize his psychiatric symptoms once he knew what to look for, put those symptoms together, and figure out what he had before having the opportunity to go to get an official diagnosis.

It’s not just you. I freaking HATE ppl who self-diagnose. How can we know? How can you know you have it as bad as it can be for people? It can be crippling. Some people say they can’t afford to go to the doctor so they self-diagnose, which I still don’t agree with, but for THIS girl that’s definitely not even the case. Wtf.

Yeah. I think it’s great that you understand that. I hope your continued therapy goes well!

It depends on the person. Some people spent thousands of dollars on doctors and they weren’t helpful. Then you stop trusting the medical community. I literally had to tell my doctor look just freaking test for this. I was so fucking tired. Went to so many to have this fixed. He didn’t want to do it. But test came back I was right after suffering 7 years and 10 doctors late. I’m not rich. It cost a lot of money!!!

8:45 she’s right, I mean I know that the girl is misguided for sure, not sensible at all, but her parents have to have had some part in this. Obviously somewhere in there they missed the fundamental basic teachings for their daughter to know that she can be liked even if she isn’t absolutely perfect. I feel like her parents were probably distant and tried to make up for it by buying her stuff as that’s what happens in many of these situations, and now they’re trying to insert themselves back and and say “well I like her when she natural! I think she should focus on her future!” Like if you had really thought that, you would’ve been supporting and caring for her from the begginning. I think the only reason they care so much now is because they gave their daughter control over a huge chunk of finances and now that the consequences from her actions are bleeding into their lives, they realize how potentially destructive these habits will be in the future but they’re trying to cover up (whether consciously or unconsciously) that they had to have had a part in this whole scenario. I could be wrong but those are just my two cents at this point in the video

I agree with what you said about self diagnosis, I had a bf when I was 15 who diagnosed himself with having anxiety attacks and when I took him to the doctor they said that wasn’t what was happening but he still went around telling everyone it was. Now I realised it was just him trying to gain attention and to manipulate me into staying in with him rather than hanging out with my friends, since it always happened right before I was about to leave to go out
