I asked you which mods you wanted to see in Scrap Mechanic, so I made them!

Instead of calculating "energy" of thing on bearing attached to the generator, battery should apply some type of load like turned off gas engine that would be more realistic and balanced

This is the way. The generator would decelerate the spinning mass, and where a larger mass comes in is it has more momentum to decelerate, so it would spin for longer. Also this is awesome.

Yep. The energy generated is dependent on the angular velocity of the spinning part, not it’s mass. The mass will keep it spinning longer without applying more power to the input, but will take more energy to spin it up. (That’s the point of a flywheel.)

Wow. I love how you "casually" made a gearbox of which is something us mechanical players have been wanting for forever! I think everybondy would love to see this idea expanded further into some kind of "Mechanical power transmission" mod or something. This is seriously huge, because the inconsistent collision physics makes 90 degree bevel gears and really any form of gears for transmission very, very, tedious. This would also apply very well to sruvival, because even there, the collisions are worse, especially with the slightly more floppy bearings it has. Love it!

Not sure if this has been done before, but could you try making a gearbox, basically an input bearing point and output bearing point, which takings the input speed and multiplies it by the gear setting, could also attached 2 button interactive points for the connect tool, to gear up and down if you've got multiple speeds in the gearbox

2x2 bearing! actually an idea for the gearbox v2. automatric transmission ;) you knowhow the engine is usually ALL OR NOTHING!!! what if the transmission block transitioned the ALL of the engine into a stepped progression of power? preventing the wheelie of death issue?

Science time: :) The power (Wattage) of an axle is it's torque multiplied by rotational speed. Or P = T×ω, where ω (omega) is rad/s. ( 2π radians= 1 rotation) So technically the 'dynamo' should measure speed and produce a torque opposite to that speed. Extra fun fact: This is an extension of straight line power: Power = Force × speed, or P = F×v.

I've been wanting to add a bunch of tiles to the survival mode, which seems to be easy to do, but can't really wrap my head around the rigid structure of survival map generation. I do like the road system and how it connects all the warehouses n such. but when you always start in a forest, the mechanic station is down the road to the right, the trader is behind the 1st packing station, etc. it gets old. Would love to see a truly random map where you don't know where anything is. Also a survival map size option would be sick.

mod is really cool but about gearbox block.... can you do more output torque, becouse with this torque car can't even start. engine is gust working but torque can't fully go throught gearbox actually two output bearings and for final part add gears choise (input 10n/m and 1rpm and output 10 rpm and 1n/m....) it can be about 7 or 9 gears from 20:1 to 1:1 if you try to do it will be really cool

Different gearbox levels Lvl 1: ×0.20 f9r effectiveness of the conversion Lvl 2: ×0.50 Lvl 3: ×0.75 Lvl 4: ×0.95 or 0.99, whatever feels approporiate Maybe a dev gearbox that has a perfect 1 to 1 conversion? Plus a crafting recipe idea: (if you know how) 1: logic gate and 1 bearing

Can you add the function to gearbox possibility to lock output with switch. Imagine how it makes easier make gearbox for piston engine. Because onse I tried make the gearbox with only gears mod, but the problem was when engine start spinning to fast, and gears sas "can't handle that"

Every time I launch the game I get a warning that I can't download a mod because access was denied everything online says this means one of my mods was changed to private or was deleted but I can't figure out which mod it was how do I find the mod to uninstall it

Im desperate for a scriptable gate, i just wanna write some basic code instead of use 30 gates for the same, but (while i do have the lua experience to turn some text into some actual functionalities) i dont have the experience with mods required to make this, i noticed that the new version has saving and loading of json files now (wich as far as im aware was the reason we never got this in the past?) is there any chance at all that scriptable gates are possible now? and if so, mind having a stab at that? even if only in basic form?

You should make a gearshift that has gears and can be shifted up or down using 2 buttons. the block should have a menu to set how many gears you want and if you want a reverse gear.

yeah, it should also make the load heavier on the grater gears and lower in the lower gears, I made one like that with the modpack (a blueprint) you connect the imput to the device and the device to the engine, and now you have a gearboxed engine... but its janky, a little too big, and definately not realistic, so a mod would be best

Kinetische Energie berechnet sich aus der linearen Geschwindigkeit, die mit steigendem Radius immer größer wird. Das spielt aber eh keine Rolle. Der Generator muss eine Last auf das Lager packen (im Endeffekt muss er also Bremsen). Die Masse bestimmt nur, wie viel Energie im System vorhanden ist und hat damit keinen Einfluss, wie viel Energie der Generator dem System für die Batterien entnehmen kann. You know something, there could be an interesting game mode with the desert world where you start with a small, terrible scrap vehicle with a crappy generator, you manually build up power at the start in order to drive around in order to fight wandering bots and scrap leftover vehicles on this long abandoned planet struck with desertification. Somebody's gotta make that game mode when it's an available option.

Isn't your gearbox actually a differential? If so it could allow two outputs so you could drive two wheels like a differential. It could even do the thing an open diff does where turning one wheel turns the other in the opposite direction, but you'd have to factor in one of the bearings' rotation being locked and sending 100% of the power to the other output bearing.

No, these are "filemods", you have to manually install them, as they overwrite game files to allow for a lot more freedom, and modding Survival at all. There's usually instructions on how to install filemods in the workshop description of them. Eventually the devs will add a way of installing them automatically, but for now we have to do it manually.
