Sir, your concept & information is very useful & practical. you said that this diet can be started & continued under Doctor ‘s supervision. Unfortunately most of the Doctors are either not aware of this latest development in medical research or they donot believe in it. At best they will discourage only. Almost all Doctors & nutritionists harp on balanced diet comprising most cereals, less proteins & least fats. They advise eating at every three hours. I feel getting Doctor supervision for this diet to common man is very difficult.One has to make experiment on his own, start with low dose, go for essential evaluations tests periodically & stabilise. Dr. Satyanarayana garu, I'm confused by the following statement. Please clarify. At 10:21, you said: " _An IMPORTANT WARNING: If we do not eliminate starchy carbs, and if we eat animal derived saturated fats along with starchy carbs, we face all sorts of dangers, especially heart diseases._ " But, this is contradictory to what Dr. Lustig says in [1] and [2]. If I understand him correctly, he says that *the only dangerous carb is fructose* . Fructose free carbs, i.e., starches like rice/wheat/lentils/etc, are safe _when consumed with adequate amounts of fiber_ , which slow down glucose absorption and lower peak insulin response. To quote Dr. Lustig ([2], chapter 17): "... all successful diets share three precepts: low sugar, high fiber (which means high micronutrients), and _fat and carbohydrate consumed together in the presence of an offsetting amount of fiber_ . ... Using fiber as the antidote to carbohydrate (see chapter 12) is the salvation of many a successful diet." " a low fat diet tastes like cardboard; the flavor is in the fat. So you up the carbs to compensate, increasing your insulin, and your weight (see chapter 9). As discussed in chapter 10, there are two LDLs. Large buoyant (type A) LDL, which accounts for about 80 percent of the circulating LDL, is increased by saturated fat. But _large buoyant LDL has a neutral impact and by itself poses little risk for heart disease_ . Conversely, small dense (type B) LDL, which accounts for the other 20 percent, is driven by dietary carbohydrates [mainly fructose]. It is type B that contributes to heart disease." I understand that a strict LCHF/ketone diet is necessary for people suffering from insulin resistance/diabetes/metabolic syndrome, and can help reverse their metabolic syndrome. But, is it also necessary for people NOT suffering from metabolic syndrome to follow a strict LCHF diet? The main motivation for raising this question is that, _a LCHF diet is much more expensive_ than a *fructose free* /high starch/high fiber/at liberty saturated fat/medium protein diet. Unlike the high fructose/low fat disaster diet, _heavily promoted_ by Ancel Keys and the sugar industry, such a diet allows saturated fats at liberty (whatever can be afforded).
