Yup. Right off the top of my head, I can think of Final of Puyo Puyo (vs), Sunset of Puyo Puyo (credits after staff roll), Theme of Puyo Puyo (altered version used in Staff Roll), Memories of Puyo Puyo (Password Screen) and Sticker of Puyo Puyo (Exercise Mode). And yes indeed, there really aren't good covers of it, at least under that name.

I see! I knew Mean Bean Machine was a port (of sorts) of Puyo Puyo, but I didn't realize that any of the music had been moved over. My point still stands: I've yet to see a satisfying cover of the song. =)

Since I played this piece I've been playing Vs mode and thinking the same, it's messed up though, I might have a fit playing it on the piano. But not as much of a fit as when those transparent beans fall just as I'm about to let off the best bean chain in history

To be precise, Vs. Mode is actually a cover of Final of Puyo Puyo, from the game Puyo Puyo, the game that Mean Bean Machine came from.

Cheers, Mushroom Hill's a good track yeah. There's a completely different feel to Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles music from the Sonic 1 and 2 stuff - different composers - both great though I think. I like the bass in Mushroom Hill, definitely worth arranging. I've recorded one Sonic 3 piece already so keep looking out for my weekly uploads.

Yup, there are subtle changes in instruments. I prefer the drums in MBM than in Puyo Puyo. But yes, there are hardly any good live covers out there.

Interesting! After looking up the original version of Final of Puyo Puyo, I think I prefer that version over the MBM version (subtle changes, but they make all the difference). And I suppose I should be clear, I found a few good remixes but I've yet to find a satisfactory live cover.

Well, MBM uses sampled drums while Puyo Puyo uses FM drums since the latter had a less capable sound engine (which is also why all music stops when the characters talk in that game), of course MBM is going to have better drums.

@MrBonusStage1 I don't think it would work well on piano, or at least not on piano alone. I DO sympathize with getting those garbage beans dumped on you at the worst possible moment, though, it hurts my soul when that happens.
