You have to think of it as you or a loved one. Would you want him doing surgery on the person you loved the most in this whole world if he was starting to make mistakes or forget something? Neither would he, and so he did what he felt was best.

i think from a general perspective he is not doing it right, hes being kinda 'selfish' to quit (i dont mean it nagtively), he wants to be responsible to every patient, so he won't allow any mistake, which is very respectful mindset, but from other perspective, they lost the most experienced surgeon (others may or most likely not gonna be better), it is repectful but if every surgeon keeps his mindset, there probably won't have enough surgeon (so all the repectful ones leaves and let others do it), everyone make mistakes, i think minor errors are acceptable, like one of the ways to rate the surgeon is look at the 'death rate', rate of 0% is not a good surgeon. But in the end, hes still very respectful, he is very humble, he doesn't think of how great he is and is ready to quit once he fail
@jacobjordan64066 ай бұрын
thing is just because he quits doesn't mean he won't advising or teaching. he is right in the sense that once mistakes start it gets worse from there. so the right move was to move on. the selfish part comes if he also refuses to teach after the fact

In my opinion, people should watch more movies to see doctors are in different of levels than we used to assume. They are like soldiers at many frontiers, skillful, fragile, could be completely washed out at any time like nothing and we still need another for that empty as soon as possible. We take them for granted.

@@Pxrsiann he did respectfully speak it and just as he is allowed to speak it and have it. stxr is likewise allowed to speak his or hers in a similar manner. he was respectfully if a bit brusque but ultimately it was a polite dismissal of the opinion. also reality is if presented with a surgeon that communicates like shaun most are going to be annoyed but when it comes to results most are also going to be thankful that they didn't foolishly allow their personal feelings to effect their judgment. I remind you of the girl who nearly died because her parents decided shaun was wrong and "annoying" and thanks to his persistence and refusal to to "go away" she didn't die
