I’m so happy that I was smart enough to reach out to a therapist! She took me back to my 4 year old self! I’m still on my healing journey and I’m happy that I learned how to compartmentalize my emotions. I’m in a better place in life because of therapy….who knows where I’d be if hadn’t gone to therapy! 🙏🏾🙌🏾

Loved this! 😍 She is me! I literally went to college to become a pediatrician but hated science. Psychology was easy and natural. I have since been a counselor, teacher, and nurse. This episode was a "God wink" and confirmation to complete my master's for psych nurse practitioner. I just have a heart for young people and feel the need to be a part of the solution. Thank you. Brandi, keep doing what you're doing. You're a great interviewer! ❤

Physical fitness is a critical aspect of holistic wellness. But I often hear people say that the gym is their therapy (especially men). I think that we should be clear: physical fitness is a PART of wellness, but it does not encompass ALL aspects of our overall wellness. The gym alone doesn’t help anyone to process unresolved trauma, process uncomfortable or painful emotions, develop tools and strategies to sustain healthy, loving and supportive relationships with others, etc.
