26 years old, Obese for majority of my life. Decided last year (May 2023) to get a personal trainer. Did the calorie restriction diet/lifestyle adjustment and lost 3st in one year but started to plateau. Came across a piece of short form content about Dr. J and extended fasting. I Did my research (Dorian Wilson’s YT channel) and did a 3 Day water fast. I’ve lost a stone in the space of a week. My energy levels are through the roof, 0 cravings for chocolate and sweets, I feel positive about everything and have a general sense of gratefulness for life. Fasting is the truth!

40 year old male, obese for 15 years. After a couple failed diets and exercise-heavy attempts to lose weight, I tried fasting. I’ve been doing two 36-hour fasts per week since March 2021.Mostly plant-based and time-restricted eating rest of each week (20:4). Parents and extended family thought I was crazy and would kill myself. Dropped from 235 to 170 lbs in 5 months, reversed pre-diabetes, normalized blood pressure, went from 38 waist to 30, and XXL shirts to M. I look and feel at least a decade younger, and now buy clothes because they look good and not because they’re just the only thing that fits. Went shirtless at the beach and pool for the first time since I was a teenager. Fasting completely changed and saved my life, and I will do this for as long as I live. Thank you, Drs. Jamnadas and Fung for sharing this ancient yet somehow controversial wisdom! Update December 2021: now that I’ve hit my target weight range, I’ve been able to maintain my weight loss and energy by fasting just once a week for 36 hours. All other days I fast 16-20 hours on average, except on weekends when I eat breakfast. This feels very easy and sustainable now! My diet is mostly comprised of fat and protein (nuts, eggs, cheese, avocados, greens, fish, seafood). I generally avoid processed foods and stay away from sugar. Haven’t had rice, bread, potato for months, and I don’t miss them. Other foods in moderation such as beans, berries, bananas, corn, coconut. I exercise very moderately during the week - walks, bike rides, a swim or jog. But I consider exercise part of my cardiovascular health plan, not weight loss tool. It is all about the diet. Have faith my friends! The initial weight loss will challenge you, but I’ve learned that keeping the weight off is much easier than I expected, as long as you are willing to let go of some long-standing food habits. There are many keto-friendly foods available now which will help you develop a very satisfying diet for your future.

At 50 years old I had a lot of joint pain it was overweight. I was actually probably overweight enough to be considered borderline obese. Ice started eating one meal a day. Throughout the day I would drink water and unsweetened tea as I cannot drink black Coffee. I’ve lost 30 pounds all the pain in my joints went away I had not felt better since I’ve been in my 20s. I met a man who said I could not eat one meal a day and survive. We got married and I am not kidding you the mental harassment is just too much for a person to endure. So I started eating more and about that time I started going through menopause. I am now 60 I am obese again and I’m still married to this guy. In the last 10 years I have never in my life argued with someone so much about what I eat or don’t eat. Today’s my first day of a three day fast and I kid you not he’s having a cow. I’m just so over it. But I don’t know if it’s my age but I feel so sick and things are starting to go wrong with my body. I know I have high blood pressure and stress really gets that going. And this husband stresses me so much. If I wasn’t a Christian I would’ve stayed married to him this long. God does not give him much leeway for divorce unfortunately. So we continue the battle of wills. I am an old is child and he is a baby that never had children. So often I feel like he treats me like a child. And intellectually He is not the sharpest tool in the shed. I graduated at 17 and Went to college. And during school he was in special ed. When God tells you to be equally yoked it’s not just in religion. If you marry someone that is not even close to as smart as you it’s gonna be very bad. My first husband was a firstborn child and he only had high school education but he was very smart. And we were married 30 years. We got along very good 15 years out of that 30. The first five years were tough getting used to each other. The last 10 were horrible because the doctor had given him Vicodin and he got addicted to it and the doctor just kept giving it to him for 10 years. And that’s what caused our divorce. The last year of our marriage I told him 12 months before divorce you need to get in rehab or a marriage is over. During that last 13 months he never got in rehab. Valentine’s Day he didn’t call me to tell me happy Valentines and he didn’t get me anything which was fine. But when he didn’t call me that was the last straw. And at this point he was staying at work for three days he come home take a shower sleep for two days get up go back to work for three days. So drugs and Dr.’s ruined our 30 year marriage. He had a very addictive personality

I eliminated sugar and bad food and starting eating much less. Well within 7 days the fissure was gone! When I told my surgeon he did a scan and said the fissure was 95% repaired. I stopped all medication and have been cured for 2 years now. THIS IS A 1000% TRUE VIDEO - BRAVO!!!!

If you are overweight and are feeling like you need a big jumpstart, fast for 3 days using water ONLY. Pay attention to your hormones' responses to you not eating and when you re-introduce food back to your stomach. Hope this helps.

My skin is healthy, glowing and smooth, i lost about 20lbs already, my hair is beautiful, the hardest part is starting and once u feel how I’m feeling you won’t want to stop, I’m doing it for religious beliefs though, i fast and pray and see prayers being answered before my eyes.

Congratulations to you I can’t wait to also give my testimony. This is soooo hard. I’m on day 3 today😭 Yesterday was worse though I felt so tired and irritable and all I wanted to do was EAT. My brain was literally BEGGING for Starbucks, Tim Hortons and McDonald’s. But somehow I managed to say no. Today I went to a spa because I needed a distraction so I thought if I do something nice for myself I’ll feel better, and I kinda do. I have a food addiction and it’s ruining my life but no one knows because my weight is ‘normal’ but I’m hiding a shameful secret from everyone. I’m trying to fix it because I have the behaviours of a drug addict now and it took me a while to realise but if I don’t change I will mess up all my relationships and potentially lose my job. I am a 68 year old RN. In February 2021, I had a heart attack and quadruple bypass. I did not recover quickly. I have always walked and swam for exercise, but I knew I was addicted to sugar. At cardiac rehab, they focused on low fat and exercise, but never addressed insulin resistance. Finally, in February 2023, I found Dr Jamnadas talking about the importance of Vit K2. I love his energy and enthusiasm for health. That led me to his information on fasting. Something in me switched. I started cutting out sugar and no more eating snacks and late into the evening. I lost 8 pounds the first month just doing that. My aches and pains started to disappear. Then I began intermittent fasting, eating only Whole Foods and cutting out carbs. In the second month, I lost another 12 lbs doing 18/4 , some 24 hr fasts and 36-3 hr fasts once a week. It is getting easier and I feel great. More energy, no pain in joints. Proud of myself. Wish I had started a long time ago. But this is the way to really get healthy. Thank you Dr Jamnadas!

@jaybyrd32403 жыл бұрын
Our bodies are so resilient if we treat them with respect. Western doctors rarely do anything but push more pills, which normally then cause more side effects that require more meds. The gut brain connection is what has brought me to all these videos. They are now thinking upwards of 90% of our serotonin ( what ups our happiness) is made in the gut NOT the brain. Passing it on to family and friends is difficult. They tend to be very resistant to the idea at least this has been my experience. I've been doing ADF since 2017 with 72 hr fasts thrown in a few times a year and so far non of my family has started a fasting-focused lifestyle. They watched me lose 110 lbs effortlessly and when I told them I did it by eating every other day the response was "Oh, I could never do that."
@1GoldenBreeze3 жыл бұрын
@Alice Kapolas Fasting is simply choosing not to eat. If you've never done it before and you are fearful start small and build up. It is fairly easy to start with 12hr fasts by not eating after dinner and skipping breakfast the next day you will be asleep for most of the fast. You can do that until it seems easy and then extend it by skipping breakfast and lunch which will give you a fast of about 16 hrs. Doing longer fasts is just a mind game for the most part. Hunger may come around the time you are used to eating but if you occupy your time with some activity or busy work it will pass and doesn't just get worse and worse. You might want to include some electrolytes for longer fasts if they are difficult, but something like a 3day fast can easily be done without electrolytes. For many people, if they make it through 2 - 3 days they are no longer hungry. If you want to track your fasts you can download a fasting tracker app.

I'm also motivated mostly by knowing the mechanics of how what I do will have a certain outcome One example for me was "Dark leafy greens". We are told it is good, but why and how, and how much? When I eat it, I don't notice anything, but I do notice how bad it tastes, so it's natural to think it's not worth it. But once I understood, i stuck with it, and the bad taste is offset by the benefit I know I'm getting. So this is the info about dark leafy greens: the darker the green the more chlorophyll, the photosynthesizing organelle. Choorphyl's central molecule is magnesium. And magnesium is good for us for very good reasons, which I actually forgot lol. I'll have to refresh. But that line of mechanisms really helps me stick to eating healthy, which isn't automatic for me by default.

I'm on day 1 of my 21-day fast. I recently had these small bumps coming over my body after my period for the past 4 months. At first, I thought it was a heat bump, but I started to discover the pattern. The heat bump comes after five days of my period. It won't go away for about two weeks, and it is very painful. I started to google and found it to be an autoimmune condition called HS. Luckily, my one is not so severe, but it leaves behind scars. So far, I have had it around my armpits and my buttocks. I was completely shattered when I read that it was uncurable. The same day, I found a video about fasting, and some of them posted that they had recovered from autoimmune disease by fasting. I have watched a ton of videos on fasting and Keto and I agree. It pretty much has it all.

I'm totally sold on fasting and do it regularly, whilst doing a very physically demanding job. Also, I was an alcoholic for two decades and was suffering nervous and physical damage from it. Fasting seems to be the cure. And the less you eat, the more careful you are about what you eat.
