This is 4 years ago; Yet it’s so applicable for today! I appreciate women having information to make decisions about bone drugs! They are a consumer of pharmaceutical product as much as beauty products. Thank you for video🙏

Thank you for the videos. I'm 43, and I was diagnosed with osteoporosis when I was 32. They believe I developed a pituitary tumor when I was fifteen, and it shut down my reproductive and endocrine system (I've had one cycle). I had the tumor removed ten years ago, followed by radiation. I have Hashimato's, Addison's Disease, Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disorder, and osteoporosis. One of my doctors said I'd be in a wheel chair, in a nursing home, or dead by 45 if I didn't take estrogen and Bisphosphonates. My body has adverse reactions to estrogen, so I can't take it. My doctor said that is impossible, so they threw a few Bisphosphonates at me and I don't want to take them. I did take Forteo, it worked, but the results didn't last. Currently I do Yoga, light cardio, and pilates. I take fish oil, vitamin k2, calcium, magnesium, vitamin d (50000 IU once a week), and osteobiflex. I'm starting to remove toxic foods as well, but my doctors are really on me about meds. It's frustrating.

Thanks Susan, my 84 year old mum has 2 fractures in her spine because of osteoporosis and is due to have an injection of prolia to increase bone density and prevent further fractures. I've read mainly horror stories from people who have taken this drug. What kind of results could my mum expect on your program?

Hi Sidah, Dr. Brown's program can help you build bone and maximize overall health. As far as her fractures go, we have a great Fracture Healing Kit which can speed up your mother's healing time: www.betterbones.com/shop/consultations-with-dr-brown/fracture-healing-kit/ It is a great idea for her to start taking supplements to strengthen her bones if she is not taking them already. We have a great multivitamin that can build bone and help you body alkalize. Maintaining an alkaline pH is extremely important for building bone because if your body is too acidic, it will pull the vitamins and minerals out of your bones and you will lose bone. Our “Better Bones Builder” is a great starting point and you can find it here: www.betterbones.com/shop/better-bones-products-and-programs/better-bones-builder/. It contains all of the 20 and more key nutrients you need to help you build bone and alkalize. On top of taking a good multivitamin, you will need to follow all of Dr. Brown's steps of her Better Bones, Better Body program which include Case Assessment, Alkaline Diet, Enhancing Digestion, Nutrient Supplementation, Exercise and Stress Reduction. You will build bone most effectively if you follow all of these steps because they all work together. Like any other program, it is also only effective if you stay committed to it. Case Assessment includes finding the underlying causes of your bone loss. Many causes of bone loss can be hidden and can only be uncovered through lab testing. Dr. Brown can help you uncover these hidden causes in an appointment but you can glance at the types of tests she'll have her clients get here: www.betterbones.com/testing/diagnostic-tests-for-causes-of-osteoporosis/. Dr. Brown suggests following an Alkaline Diet because if your body is too acidic, it pulls minerals out of your bones to buffer the acidity and in turn you lose bone density. You can read more articles that Dr. Brown wrote on her blog about the Alkaline Diet here: www.betterbones.com/?s=alkaline+diet Enhancing Digestion is important for building bone. Even if you eat the highest quality foods, you need to digest and absorb their nutrients to get the benefits and digestive problems keep you from absorbing these nutrients, which in turn can decrease bone density. You can read more articles that Dr. Brown wrote on her blog about Enhancing Digestion here: www.betterbones.com/?s=digestion Nutrient Supplementation is extremely important for building bone because it is almost impossible to get all the nutrients one needs from diet alone. The body requires 20+ key nutrients for building and maintaining bone strength. You can read more articles that Dr. Brown wrote on her blog about key nutrients for bone here: www.betterbones.com/category/bone-nutrition/ Exercise is important for building bone because stimulating the muscles and bones will help you build bone. As Dr. Brown always says, building muscle = building bone. Yoga and dance are great for this but you can read more articles that Dr. Brown has written on the types of exercise that are good for building bone here: www.betterbones.com/category/exercise/. We also offer a monthly subscription of $12.99 per month to our Exercise Evolution program where you get weekly bone-building exercise videos & more. The exercises vary, with yoga, strength training and other mindful exercises. You can check that out here: www.betterbones.com/better-bones-exercise-for-osteoporosis-program/ Stress Reduction is extremely important as well because high levels of cortisol in the body can cause you to lose bone. You can read more articles that Dr. Brown has written on emotions and how they affect bone here: www.betterbones.com/category/emotions-and-bone/ If you would like to schedule a personal consultation with Dr. Brown so that she can help you develop your own personalized program, you can give our office a call at 1-877-207-0232.
