Piercing insight, thank you so much!! I suspect Dr Rowland may be acquainted with Dr Caroline Farey, who I think would be another wonderful guest. Thank you for all that you do for Holy Mother Church. In hoc signo vinces +.

The balloons and confetti popping up on Rodney’s screen and Larry’s reaction was hilarious. Great episode, as always.

Hi all, Though I'm a long-time follower of Tracey Rowland's thought, I question whether bureaucracy "created" the clerical sexual abuse crisis. Bureaucracy may have let it persist by moving abusers around, but the real cause seems to be poor selection and formation of priests and bishops. The Australian Royal Commission found these issues were much less common among Eastern Rite Catholic and Eastern Orthodox clergy. We, as Western Christians, have much to learn from this. Please can anyone clarify where the 2% figure about those who took part in the synodal process comes from? Let's remember, we're 'born' into the Church through baptism, not by having Catholic parents. Also, how do you spell the name of that Polish philosopher please? The modern state's co-opting of Christian concepts reminds me of John Milbank's point that the (Western) Church created the secular! As Christians, we need to address our own failings before critiquing the secular state. Rahner's influence, especially in the Society of Jesus, is a significant issue. Their choice to follow him more than De Lubac was a big mistake, in my view. Isn't the block of incontestable ideas called 'dogma'!? Thanks for a great interview.
