Hold children to an academic standard of A-B honor roll! Blacks do not put the proper value on education which is the key to success. 4. Live well BELOW your means! No designer foolishness and fake hair and nonsense. 5. No killing black people. 6. Actually be a parent when you have children and protect their innocence and keep them from growing up so fast 7. Because of difference in working way of sex organs in which one discharges or pours fluid and the other one receives , gathers and ""absorbs"" that fluid , normally female virginity is given importance in real mankind. For "animals" there is no importance of female virginity. If men uses genital in public toilet and accidentally penis touches the pot , it makes very uncomfortable unless shower is taken. @com5835 жыл бұрын
First and foremost i think it needs to be understood that polygamy is about the village; the community. Polgamy is more or less about a private affair, its about the whole. At the end of the day a man is going to do his best to take of his family whether if he has one wife or multiple. So i don't understand why people keep saying "its up to the man to be able to afford having several wives". As if a woman is a product that needs to be reup. The whole point of polgamy is an all hands on deck approach; everyone brings the resources to the table for the betterment of everyone. Too many people are interpreting polgamy from an individualistic standpoint. Like i said before a man is going take care what needs be done regardless but please understand the words in which we use. Does a man really need to be able afford multiple wives or should they be building together. Affordability is based on perspective and not on building together. Some people are higher maintenance then others, which proves my point affordability is not based on building. Building is everyone put their talents, skills and resources to the table. From their you have common ground which is the setting stones for empire or whichever place you aim to reach

The reality is once a woman has a child, which is nearly inevitable considering biology, she is IMMEDIATELY OUT of the labor force. (Unless you want your child being raised by some outside source after the 6 weeks passes in which she has maternity leave.) So anyway, she leaves the labor force because she has to take care of her offspring. This alone shows that a man who wants multiple wives needs to be able to care for his multiple lives. And not in the projects. Why is it so hard for people to believe? I, like many black women, have a master's degree and plenty of skill sets, but if I reproduce then my first and most important skill will be daily rearing of the next generation along with my husband. I won't be going out to work for some white man. And if I do entrepreneurship, it will come secondary to raising our children and taking care of our home. So for those who think they're going to have a harem in which a whole bunch of women work and bring in the majority of income while the man sits around and keeps on having sex? Doesn't make any sense. And women who fall for that are simply thirsty and need to get their hormones in check. Men would never tolerate that from women if the tables were turned, so women should not tolerate that from men.
@bigballer13995 жыл бұрын
Sis in Transition I wholeheartedly agree with everything you stated. The man is made to provide and protect his family and his home REGARDLESS, so in polygyny, that role would certainly not change. If anything, it would increase his responsibility.

Polygamous marriages are more stable than monogamous marriages. Americans marry 3 or 4 times in their lifetimes but they think it's ok if they do that one at a time, which is much worse. Getting divorced and remarried multiple times is the norm and socially acceptable but it's not good especially for the children nor society in general.

POLYGYNY 1. Increased political viability due to increased numbers. 2. Increased disposable income, due to pooling of resources, that could be used to invest and, therefore, solidify economic infrastructure. 3. Best balance between sexual/social/societal chaos (polyamory/promiscuity) and sexual/social/societal order (monogamy). It addresses man's instinct to copulate and procreate with many women, for the purpose of diversifying his genetic legacy to increase the chances of genetic survival; and women's monogamous instinct to select the most resourceful, stable, and attractive (genetically fit) mate possible, who's offspring she must sacrifice for and invest time and energy in until maturity. 4. Mirrors Nature- objects that are considered masculine, such as the Sun, are often surrounded by objects that are considered feminine, such as the planets (Mother Earth) or moon (which govern the woman's menstrual cycle). "Can you afford it" is women's way of shutting down the possibility of polygyny, knowing the vast majority of black men's answer is going to be "no". The fact of the matter is black society only owns/controls 2.6% of the nation's wealth, we must strategize as to how we can make it work until the children mature and are able to make money, themselves. We also have to consider that we live in an environment where black women are favored, economically, above black men! We can make it work; but we must have the resolve to do so. *Anti-Polyandry 1. Women tend to be more monogamous because a.) biologically, they must choose the best mate because they are the ones who must invest the most time and energy into raising the child to maturity; b.) their neurochemical composition causes stronger emotional bonding during sex than men; c.) their bodies retain an imprint of males' sperm; d.) having one mate eliminates confusion as to who the child's father is; e.) women, generally, do not have sufficient income to support multiple husbands.

Polygamy in the community would be a great fix. Especially if everyone plays their part for the betterment of the family and community. It would also make men and women accountable for their actions. Less babies out of wedlock. Like he said we are already living polygamous lives when everyone is sleeping with everyone anyway. Children will know their fathers. Taking away polygamy from us was the beginning of destroying the black family and putting us against one another. Granted it’s not for everybody but those who can should.

I say Polyamory. Women should have the same option to maintain multiple relationships if she so chooses. Polygamy carries a dark cloud of jealousy among the women involved. Which unfortunately leads to the mistreatment and abuse of children within that community. Polygamy also sets a terrible example for girls...that they should be all about the man..making sure he is kept and his needs are more important than hers... I call bull crap. Men, let’s be faithful to one woman and one woman only, we can not build up our community if our homes are broken, have a relationship with whatever religion god or belief higher than yourself and nature, have moral about yourself AS A MAN, stay home with your woman and treat her right love your kids and work hard to provide knowledge, wisdom, and assets for your next generation. In zimbabwe when a man is marrying a woman and goes to the court to sign the marriage certificate, he is given a choice between two types of marriages. They ask if he would want to marry more women later or is going to only marry one wife for life. If he opts for polygamy he gets a certificate which allows him to come back and add more wives therefore allowing his wives to all be legally married to him and in the event of the husbands death they are all entitled to an equal share of the inheritance

There are plenty of responsible men you all just don't want them. Responsible men are not going to be the court jesters that most women love so much therefore they label them as "boring." A lot of women are immature and only look at how much fun and exciting a guy is and will choose solely based on that. Does he have family values? Is he responsible? Does he have goals? Does he have a plan for the future? Is he reliable? Does he have integrity? These questions are never asked because as long as he's fun, dresses nice, likes to go out, has a decent car, among other superficial nonsense that will be enough for most women to have children with him. It's just when things don't work out for them because of their juvenile selection process then women want to point the finger at the male gender. The problem is YOU and YOUR CHOICES.

In Africa, there are two types of Polygamy, one that comes from a Patrilineal society and the other one that comes from a matrilineal society. In Matrilineal societies especially of the Bantu speaking people, polygamy was a necessity to protect the women during slavery because the women that did not have a husband was preyed upon by Arab slave traders. The second reason was if the wife is too old to bear children but would still want children to inherit her land, then she would ask the young sister to help bear the children. In America and Africa, we have reached a point were Polygamy is going to be necessary to keep the black family alive.

@josepheziri95996 жыл бұрын
Coming from a 19 year old African, I see nothing wrong with a man marrying two or more wives, as long has all wives agree on the union and he is financially stable enough to live comfortable with them. Every woman has the right to choice whether she wants the be apart of the polygamous relationship or not. Treat your wives like queens with freedom and empower them (like them owning their own business and henceforth). Equality must reign between the man and his wives. That results in a happy life. When a monogamous marriage faults, nobody blames the institution of monogamy itself, but the people in the marriage. Polygamy is not the problem, we need more responsible men and women that are willingly and that equates to a happy union. Just saying that polygamy is wrong because a man is allowed and a woman isn't, doesn't make it a valid point. Just imagine women, having 10 different husbands, servicing them, cooking (or is that sexist?), eventually a pregnancy will come and nobody would know who the father is. Imagine getting a DNA test on ten different men every time the woman is pregnant. It brings much of confusion. Polygyny, however, can be much more organized and more natural. Just because a woman can't do what the man does, doesn't means its a way of oppressing or dehumanizing her. Lastly, a man with one wife or multiple wives are both justified, as long as there is 100 % HAPPINESS!! Show less

+Stephanie Johnson Would you feel happy living under the same roof with, say 2 more women and you have to wait your turn to share his bed? Do you honestly believe a man could love all of his wives equally? It is only natural to want to be loved unconditionally. In polygamy sex is the only thing shared, not love. If sex is all you want, then polygamy is for you.
@dinahware84179 жыл бұрын
Larry jones Larry the common sense point is that most people in the black community are already practicing polygamy, by the very fact many black men have several baby mommas, I think the point that is being made is that it would make more sense, economically if they just all lived together. I don't see how you got to the point of "If sex is all you want, then polygamy is for you." a better point would have been the money point
@larrybelchek9 жыл бұрын
Stephanie Johnson Stephanie, you are right. I never should have went right to the sex subject. Let's look at the economic part of polygamy you speak of. Starting in 2014, female black women became the highest educated group of all people, when it came to a college education. The most educated people tend to earn the higher wages over lower educated people. Now what happens if 1 college educated black women falls in love with a black man who makes much less money then her and the get married. She then becomes the bread winner and that's cool too, it's 2015 not 1915. Now let's say the man falls in love with a highly uneducated women who is unemployed. He want's to marry her because he fell in love with her but don't worry, he says he still loves the other women. Put yourself in the college women's shoes. Should she tell the man that it is alright to marry her because it is their duty to keep the black race from disappearing. Come payday, the educated women kicks in $400, the man $200 and the uneducated women only has $20 to give. Tell me there won't be friction. The black community doesn't practice true polygamy. It nothing more then bed hoping. The part I just can't understand about all this polygamy stuff is what is the true purpose of it all. If a black man can have 2 or more wives, is it ok for a black women to live under the same roof with 2 or more men? The whole story about why black polygamy is needed, to me is absurd. There are way to many pitfalls to it. Just my opinion.
@dinahware84179 жыл бұрын
I'm only thinking in the case of the men who already have like 5 baby mommas (and their all maybe on welfare) and yes you could say it's bed hopping but some women don't have an issue with it, and if they don't have an issue with it who am I to judge, there are some men and women who don't feel guilty about having multiple partners and if it works for them, who am I to judge. And I'm not sure who in 1915 in the US had multiple partners :/. Gotta go way further back then that.
@larrybelchek9 жыл бұрын
Stephanie Johnson I want to let you know that I am an atheist and I don't base any of my beliefs on any religious teachings. I am telling you that so you understand that I agree with you that no one should judge anyone else . Many religious people are very judgmental. I am all about the here and now because I believe there is no after life. As a atheist, I believe that polygamy hurts me in the pocket book. Let me explain. You talked about there could be some brother with 5 baby mommas and all of the women are on welfare. Well he isn't going to be able to afford to support 5 wives and all the children. That leaves me and millions like me, paying taxes to support him and his family. I wouldn't judge anyone on having 5 wives and all the children but don't try and get up in my wallet to support the whole mess. You see, religious people will worry about their souls going to hell. I am concerned about my money being taken from me.

Would not be even marginally beneficial for the men reproductively as the female reproductive system can only accommodate a single birth slightly under a year. Polyandry was more of an economic decision among families in a lot of historical accounts, also infanticide is an issue. You would also have to question the genetics of the men you would have. Most men competed for reproduction, as was the natural state, so it would be very unlikely you get top tier genetics from alpha males in a polyandrous relationship, unless the sex ratio is *extremely* skewed, and alpha males weren't able to achieve other women, or go outside the local availability (like traveling the world, or moving to different location, etc)

Kings and pharaohs always had more than one wife as an edition to their empire. Many people women in particular find this to be against their value because western society has programmed the belief that a women is to be on the pedestal of a single man. It is the phsyce which needs to change. Marriage in its self is a contractual agreement (signatures on paper) instilled upon us all by governmental power. Therefore the concept of marriage is that of a business union. The American system is not set up for the traditional way of life. Polygamy is about understand roots, position, respect, removal of ego, and embracing authentic love. It is not a way of life for most because many are not open to what lies beyond societal confines

I believe it is technically a different term for it if I’m not mistaken. That is because most that takes the power structure and places all of the responsibility on the woman, she can delegate it out to the multiple men and they can work out. However most women are unwilling to do that because that puts her in place of the man and most women would never want to take on the responsibility of one man let alone multiple men. Even the women who are millionaires and billionaires will not take on that responsibility.
@LakeyiaJoy6 жыл бұрын
If you think about it. Yes “polygamy” is not an openly practiced institution (the concept of being with more than one woman). However in practice it is done within the community when you have black men sleeping with various women. Yet unfortunately NO woman is taken care of because there is nothing “binding” him responsibly to these women (and their offspring). At least in the institution of polygamy he would have to make a commitment to these relationships. Btw I’m not for or against it. I just find it interesting the example Dr. Johnson brought up with regards to it.

I would not participate in such an arrangement. I don’t see how they are beneficial. What would I gain? I also question the inability to connect with one person and bond as one. However, the important thing is for people to be upfront about what they want and expect out of relationships. If consenting adults feel that they are having their needs met in all regards, then they should act in accordance with what they can live with. Also, I don’t need an elder to protect my interest in a relationship. As a sovereign adult I can act on my behalf and advocate for myself. I would not trust another person to do that for me. In these situations it seems like women are victimized and controlled by others for the sake of community interest over their own.

So not to be disrespectful. It's a question that makes more sense to me. So, the recommendation is for women to live together, and share in the care of the children, and the upkeep of the home, and we have to "work on our sisterhood." Then why share a man? Why not build a community of women, and from time to time, if the urge hits... engage with men for procreation or pleasure. Why would it make sense for a woman to be monogamous to a man? When men tell the world (quite often) that they clearly are not satisfied with being with one women. I think maybe we should scrap "marriage" all together. Because it's definitely not about holding someone sacred. It's not about pledging your love to one person. I say, let men can come and go, as they always have and we maintain our community and be responsible for ourselves? Personally, whenever I needed help, women have been way more resourceful for me. Not saying a man has never helped but the consistency and delivery is more reliable from women. In my opinion, I would rather roommate with my besties, and share goals, rather than take on cohabitation with a man. If someone can't offer the bare minimum of loyalty, why subject yourself to a lifestyle of being with someone and whatever woman/women he scraps up. Emotional devotion means a lot to me and it doesn't seem like it's a big ask. Especially, when sharing bodily fluids, living spaces, finances and feelings.
