what can i say but....thank you God for the little things...your video journal speaks even when you dont say anything...i've said it before ..your strength and honesty, integrity & transparency have touched so many, those who are battling cancer and for those families that are beside them....thank you Sarge for encouraging and supporting them and thank you Mrs, Sarge for being such a sweet and constant support for Sarge and your family...you are an incredible woman.

Thank you so much for the kind comment Lorey :) If my videos touched or helped even one person, then it was all worth it. It has really helped me as well. There is just something different about speaking about it for a video, than just talking about it in conversation. I feel like it allows me to explore my journey, thoughts and feelings, on a deeper level. Love and Hugs my friend.

What amazing news!!!!!!! I love that you have such a supportive wife. Mrs. Sarge is wonderful. Still praying ....cancer took my entire family many years ago, they were misdiagnosed, and told it was nothing. I'm glad your oncologist is honest!

So very happy the platelet count went back up and that you have been hearing such positives from your current Oncologist as well that your satisfied with him and his team and they are all on your side. Wife is an angel and she is doing what a good partner would do...support you no matter what. Your shirt says it all. WHATEVER. I do beleive in mind over matter, what you don't mind dont matter and you are sure proof of that. Dr. B sounds amazing! I am thinking those OTC Cadbury Eggs might have some magic something or other in them LOL I will never forget this pep talk from you should I ever come to a point in my life where I may need it for any important decision I may have to make in my life, because your right, its my life no one else's and no one lives my life but me. I seriously Love you and love your 💜 Your strength and bravery shines through in all you do here on your videos anyway. Other than for the port removal...I know your scared of that. 💋

I wish everyone struggling with cancer and their family would watch this video. You gave the best advice a family member of a person with cancer could ever get. My 80 yr old grandpa died a couple of years ago from leukemia and he continued treatment just long enough to say his goodbyes to all of us. It was really hard when he said he was done but I know now that it was the best decision he could have made. He was done suffering. I was so greatful that I was able to say goodbye and tell him how much I love him. Also, I'm so glad you got good news today.

Hello Shannon. It truly is such a hard and painful road for the family members. I wish that I had advice to make it easier on the loved ones, but God knows it was rough on me watching my Mom go through it. I am glad that you, like myself, was able to say goodbye to our loved one and let them know how much they are loved. Love and Hugs.

Hi Sarge and Mrs.Sarge So glad that that you have a great doctor. For 20 years that I have been care taking for loved ones and friends with terminal illnesses I realised quickly how doctors sugar coat the situations. I had to be the ears and voice for them. I finally blew a gasket, and demanded the truth because I needed to know what to expect because I was taking care of those I loved who would be leaving us soon. I wish more doctors were like your Dr.B. Thank you for your input on this. By the way, I have the same shirt 😉 Take care of you. 👍💕

Hi Laura. I'm sorry you had to experience how much some of these doctors try to sugar coat things. It truly is frustrating and maddening! I am so thankful for Dr. B and his honesty with me in my situation. I couldn't have asked for a better Oncologist. Love and Hugs.

Such great news! You are your own best advocate sweetie and that along with your support system will carry you through. I'd like to know about your mom. How old was she when she died? What type of cancer did she have? What led her to make the choice she did?
@24pawscoffeecreamer686 жыл бұрын
Hi Sheryl. My Mom was 59 years old when she passed. She was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. It was torture to see her go through it. She fought for about 7 years, going through all the appointments, needles, scans, treatments, etc. It finally got to the point where she was having to have transfusions more and more often because the cancer was attacking her blood and it would leave her with a fever and confusion. She made the decision herself after we had rushed her to the ER one day, that she did not want anymore transfusions. She said that she just needed to know that me and my brother were okay and she felt that we now were, and that she could go and be in peace. The comfort to me when we were with her as she passed, was how much she said she was ready and wanted to see her Mom.

I just watched your full story video, and I want to thank you for giving your perspective. I'm studying to become a physician, and hearing about doctors not being completely honest (in reality protecting themselves) really hit me. I'm only in my second year, so I hope I will learn much more about conveying bad news, but I know I would really struggle with telling a patient if I had to at this point. Hopefully I would be able to be completely honest, but I guess I can't know until I'm in that situation. Can I just ask if the doctor was young? Sorry for any mistakes, English is not my first language.

Hello there :) That is awesome that you are studying to become a physician, and I wish you the best with your studies and in your career! 😁 it was a colorectal surgeon, probably in her 40's, that told me not to worry about the new spot that developed on my lung, and it was a cardiothorasic surgeon, I would guess in his 40's as well, that couldn't tell me I was no longer a candidate for lung resection surgery.

I do not blame you for not wanting to take any more chemo. I had never understood putting one through that kind of torture when it is not going to do any good and leaves the individual weak and down unrecognizable at the end. I personally think that one needs to have wherever time left which "only God knows when that time is and not any doctor" to be days where quality of life is to where can be enjoyed and not of suffering. He thinking of you tomorrow when you get your port out.
@24pawscoffeecreamer686 жыл бұрын
Hello Naomi :) I think that chemo is the right option for some people....but that wasn't the case for me. I wanted the quality, and having had some chemo and knowing that it wasn't stopping the cancer from growing, I made the decision to stop. As it turns out, it was the absolute RIGHT decision for me. The growth has SLOWED since stopping the chemo. Love and Hugs my friend :)
