The "Marshally " amp that I brought to a show in Cleveland was an EMS. Brad was searching for it's name in the video. It stands for Essential Marshall Sounds. It covers three decades of 50 watt Marshall designs in one box.

@jakemitchell16715 жыл бұрын
Ritch: Brad is FANTASTIC - a TRUE musical talent and artist, no doubt! BUT...he by no mean "smoke any other slinger on the planet." If you like Brad's approach, tone, articulation...phrasing...speed...or any of the above, you just might like to turn your ears onto guys like....Brent Mason, Albert Lee, Ricky Skaggs, Ray Flacke, Dan Huff, Derek Wells, Vince Gill, Johnny Hiland, James Burton, Steve Wariner....and my favorite three players in ONE band: Will Ray, John Jorgenson, and Jerry Donahue, aka "The Hellecasters." God knows I've left out dozens of monster players, but there are many, many jaw-dropping country/telecaster pickers. Oh...wait...don't forget perhaps the two BEST: Jerry Reed and Glen Campbell. Just unreal!
@jocelynguindon49135 жыл бұрын
@@jakemitchell1671 yeah discovered John Jorgenson through Desert Rose band! He had a great tone and phrasing ... since Buck Owens guitarist (Don Rich?) it was finally a fresh new sound w a telecaster (G&L)... since at that time everyone was playing country w a Strat. Then came Brad!

I’m not a huge country fan, but brad can play. Damn. I’ve not payed much attention to him over the years. Seamless bends, perfect chord progression. On the amplifier note, Dr Z seems to be the only guy playing with tuneable cabs. Or doing anything with cabinet design. Everyone else just throws speakers in a wood box.

I bought a Maz Junior from a backline company in my city that was made back in 2000. It blows the pants off of just about anything else going these days. I always get questions about it whenever I take it to a gig. And though Brad may disagree, I think the 2x10 combo in it still has an edge over the single 12" going these days. But he's him and I'm me, so what do I know lol. Thanks Mike, for an amp I plan to keep until the day I drop!

Do you still have it? If so how does it compare to other amps you’ve had? I’m looking at one and also a mazz 8 or 18, thanks!
@tommc493 жыл бұрын
@@frankswildyear Yes, I still have it and like it. I'm old, mostly play at home or geezer jams so the fact that you can use the volume and master to get the breakup you want and then use the level control to get to to any usable volume you want is a key factor. With three band eq you can dial in what you want. Add a Strymon Flint for reverb and tremolo and it's a Deluxe Reverb. My other amp is a tweed style, a different thing. I have not played any other Dr Z, so I can't compare.
