Sigh. I remember the good old days when Rebecca Dirks was doing Rig Rundown. A lot of guitar players would go on and on about how cute she is, but the reason her interviews were so great is that she asked questions and then let the person answer them. She knew when to NOT talk. Some of their other interviewers talk way, way too much.

My m13 is a God send I’ll will always have one I’m sure u can update it but I don’t see how u can make it any better..sure u could maybe add new sounds sounds but I can’t see what u could ad to make it better also it’s so compatible with everything that can just put it in the chain. I was a total over drive snob and than I use the ones that were in it and when heard that feed back I was hooked they don’t sound so digital. I use tube o.d. And one of the fuzzes. And all the analog settings sound truly analog.now I do use and additional mxr 78 distortion. But I mostly use enhancing or shaping such as a bbe sonic stop,10 band eq.for some leads acoustic simulator, a noise gate not all the time or at low threshold because the m13 cleans a lot of that up and of corse a wha..if u r a working musician session, touring, cover band, etc I would definitely get out as I said I was a total snob, but ur never going to get me to using tube amps...😆🎸🎼🎶🎶🎶

Ditto Jon, I went back to an M13 a few months ago. Sweetwater is blowing them out for $299. I have some great analog pedals as well. The workflow is unbeatable. The Looper alone can't be matched. I get my dirt from my Fender 57 Tweed Deluxe and a Princeton Reverb. If its good enough for Mike Campbell is should do the job. He uses the MM4 & DL4. Anyways, great post and Happy New Year.

I need a battery back up. I've had exactly the same problem with lack of power on a gigs recently. It sounded as though the wah was kicked back and all of the lights on the amp were flashing like a Christmas tree. Spent £50 with techs trying to diagnose the problem which they couldn't. In the end I just phoned the factory in California and they diagnosed the problem over the phone. My advice is bypass your dealer/distributor and always speak to the factory first, it could save you time & money.

It's kinda funny to see each guitarist and what they're take is on gear. You can go from Chuck Berry's simple guitar cord into a Fender Twin to a rig like this. And some much, much more elaborate. Like Alex Lifeson of Rush. Or Tim Mohoney of 311. Then you have Angus SG plugged into a Marshall stack and everything turned to 7.

You say Brad Paisley uses too many gimmicky effects? Brad uses a compressor just like 99% of all Country guitar players. He has a couple of delay pedals for different BPMs for songs and he has a couple of over drive pedals. That's very few pedals and Brad still plays from the heart if he's playing an acosutic guitar or an overdriven guitar.

Nothing against Brad at all, but I think he would need no more than 2 of these z-wrecks.
