Great job with the videos, currently rebuilding a 1990 350S. Previous owners mistakes have slowed the progress down but these videos are a big help on seeing how things are supposed to be.....thanks !!

My mechanic did the same thing, but he forgot to put back the Camshaft Keeper ring, and after running it the Camshaft broke in 3 pieces, destroyed the entire head, and cover....you guys make great videos on the DR350

It must we the worst feeling ever when you miss small part and this mistake makes big problem. At clutch cover there is also some kind of sealing. When you forget it, then there is no oil pressure in the engine. I hope this DR is fine now :)

You do great work, very professional. I have a 1998 DRES 350 and a 1991 that I am doing a ground up restoration and and am turning it into an electric start version. Love DR's, keep up the good work!

Really nice video. Just one question. I started to loosen bolts including decompression bolt :(. How can I adjust it as it was? (that was before watching this video) btw, Thanks for all your tutorials, helps a lot with my DR250s.

How many N-m Cylinder head ? (Bolt 14 mm.)

A great video as always. Two questions for you: 1. Why not use a gasket on the valve / camshaft cover. 2. When tightening down the valve / camshaft cover what type of torque wrench / setup did you use. Looks like a standard ratchet, extension, socket with a digital reader attached. Regards Dermot

Hi! 1) There is no gasket provided by Suzuki :) The cylinder head cover and the cylinder head makes a bushing for the camshaft. It is very dependent on the gasket thickness and it would be easy to "lock" camshaft while using thinner gasket or make it loose while using thick gasket. So... there is no gasket. Here are a couple of lines from the service manual: CYLINDER HEAD COVER • Thoroughly wipe off oil from the fitting surfaces of cylinder head and cover. • Fit the two dowel pins to the cylinder head. • Unilormly apply SUZUKI BOND No. 1207B/1215 to the cylinder head cover surface. SUZUKI BOND No. 1207B/1215 = liquid gasket, silicone. 2) Yes this one is from aliexpress (www.aliexpress.com/item/33004697921.html). 2-200Nm, 2 adapters and box for 45$. I made couple of tests with 4Nm, 30Nm 100Nm using torque wrench certified in EU. This cheap one from aliexpress is very accurate, error was below 1% as far as I remember. 2 years in use and it is ok. Have a nice day! :)

Why didn't you keep track of cylinder head bolt locations when removing them from the cylinder head?
@DawidMartasMotoAdventures4 жыл бұрын
It takes time to learn... you can track bolts when removing, or spend some time to find right place for each bolt :D

Hola! A veces la gente de España agrega subtítulos propios a nuestros videos. Solo podemos hablar inglés y polaco, por lo que agregamos subtítulos solo en EN y PL :D Gracias! (traductor de Google)
