Thanks for these. Do you still own the dr-350, I hope so because it's even cooler in 2024. I'm hoping you will do a valve clearance video. Anyway, again..I appreciate the knowledge, you are a champion and good instructor

@Hugh-Glass I still have it! If I ever need to do work my valve clearances I’d make a video on it, but right now I’m not sure I will. I appreciate your comment and support!

how did you figure out that "the needle needed to be spaced up to sit higher in the carburator" ? Great video. Thank you and props!!
@CashedOutCars6 ай бұрын
I thought it needed more fuel, and the needle controls how much fuel does in, higher up = more fuel

How did you know you needed to add a spacer? I’ve never worked on a carb before. Is spacing the needle a common solution or remedy ?

Why did you rebuild it in fast motion. I need to know how you put it all back together 😡

what is the port right above the fuel intake to the float bowl / right underneath the philips head that supports the throttle cable seating. mine is capped of, and it seems to be a vent (there is actually an opening to the floatbowl). in some videos of dr350 carbs it is totally absent? is yours open or closed? and did you cap it off?

Which one of the two jets you took out and said remember which one is bigger was the bigger one!? I had to drill mine out because they were stripped but have no clue which is bigger

Did you ever find out? I'm having the exact same problem!!

When you took the needle out, was the clip on it set to a mark on the needle My clip has a load of small washers under it on the needle What hieght should the clip be set at and what number jets are you using 👍
@CashedOutCars4 жыл бұрын
I didn't take note of the jet numbers, but I'm assuming they're stock. I had to move my clip so the needle sat higher to get my bike to run well, which is what the washers are probably for. I ended up spacing mine up a bit extra as well. Good luck!

Hi I like the video Could you tell me what model carb was fitted to the bike please, as I think mine is a standard carb but not sure Would the principal be the same for all carbs, and how do I identify which carb I have ( is there a number on the carb ) Keep making the videos Roy

How’s it still running? I’m having the same issue with mine. After a carb rebuild it dies when I give it throttle. I’m going to try your trick right now and see if it works.
@CashedOutCars4 жыл бұрын
It’s still running really well. Probably could go a bit richer just to be safe, but I’m not worried about it right now. Did yours die before the carb rebuild when you gave it throttle?
@skiapacheadaptivesports98494 жыл бұрын
CashedOutCars No before the carb rebuild it would just need to run on choke like the pilot jet was clogged and it would leak fuel so I decided to rebuild the carb did the rebuild kit put it back together it idols great but as soon as you hit the throttle it dies I adjusted the needle and no change
@CashedOutCars4 жыл бұрын
Well, that certainly sounds similar to my problem. Give this a shot and see how it goes. Did you swap any other jets?
@stekwack4 жыл бұрын
am having the same issue something I have found on my carb is a air leak on the throttle spindle, with engine running and before it gets too hot spray some easy start around the carb at mounting to head , and around different parts of the carb I found with mine if I sprayed it on the spindle for throttle on R/H side the engine would rev up, so its drawing air in creating a weak mixture.

hello, what could be the Suzuki dr when you start it and press the gas it shuts off just like this bike of yours? with the suction on, it's possible to touch the gas. I've disassembled the car many times and I can't find the fault where?

idle circuit maybe quite OK with its air /fuel ajustement, but be sure to well tune up the fuel screw (from full closed position, unscrew of 1 to 1 & 1/2 turn). with rather stable idle, you maybe got a bad tuning & /or too big difference with air/fuel ratio of the next circuit : the one that operates JUST when you begin to open throttle : that have to do with needle (position / shape/ is it worn?), plus its emulsion tube (worn ?) & then with the main jet diameter (this last one is more important for 3/4 to full throttle, but it plays a role almost all along the opening of the throttle)

Me again ;) your problems with the carb might be the "cheap" carb rebuilt kit. I had a similar one too and the went with a very high quality one and that made a huge difference. But as I said, id rather spend more money on a TM33 carb. TM36 doesnt make that much sense without porting head, bigger bore etc.
@CashedOutCars4 жыл бұрын
I ended up changing the jets back to mostly stock ones, except for the idle and just using the rebuild kit for seals, I agree, most things in the kit may not have been perfect. For a cheap fix to get it running though, I’ll take it!

am having a issue with my dr350 at the minute after rebuilding the carb with a cheap ebay kit, struggles trying to rev off tick over, seems to bog down pops and bangs seems to be too lean, have tried swapping back my pilot jet back to standard cant swap my emulsion tube back as the threads are damage, it was quite gummed up and didn't want to come out. I'm going to try a all balls jet kit next I think to see if that helps.
