I remember watching that soon after it was made. The BBC also made a version with Louis Jourdan at the same time, and for years I got them confused! I liked the straightforward telling of the story, rather than an emphasis on gore. I'll have to see if it's available in the UK!

I’d love to see the BBC version.

That's some collection...I have 330 film collection in dvd wallet.I had the pleasant memory of not having seen this on TV since 80s,(I wonder if badham dispute had it taken off air) but only remember as a child being terrified of catacombs scene.I watched again last year and it is the best Dracula, langella has an elegant exterior cloaking sinister intent that even great actor lee can't match.Lugosi,Oldman look like they're just going through the motions.

I think all of the actors you’ve named who have played the part have merit. I’ve never really thought about which one was best. But I agree that Langella’s was excellent. It’s the one I’ve seen the least amount of times but he made an incredible impression.

I remember watching this a while ago. I must say that Count Roshculla did like Count Dracula a lot.
