THE HARDEST DRACULA I EVER FOUGHT!!
Not only is the stage broken up, I have to face.
1) Recording Slowdown
2) No sound due to recording. I couldn't hear the teleporting/laughs/cues of attacks
Needless to say...I did win.
And Yes I was trying to T-Bag Drac after killing him

He’s most vulnerable when he mAterializes on the lower pillars. Especially that 2nd to last one. That’s where I really unload on him one cross, two whips, for a triple trouble blow. Be wary of his 1st form meteor attacks tho. I think he does that every 3 times he materializes. For the 2nd fight; throw lots of crosses at him, those neutralize his fire balls, and since you’re fighting on pillars; try to duck down as much as you can, and crash your crosses on him as he gets closer.

When you don't know how to handle him, this is some seriously sadistic shit, but once you learned the right tricks and patterns it's much easier (this is the same thing for all Castlevania games anyway). Having the cross is by far the best option, if you wanna play it safe, you just have to stay crouched on the lowest middle platform, this way you'll avoid almost all his attacks. Then, use the cross to damage him when he is in on your sight. You can damage him three times in one shot if he's on the opposite platforms, only one if he is closer. Pretty easy to get him without losing health like that (and you have much enough hearts to do it). The second form is a lot easier than it seems. Just go to the far right of the platforms, and stand on the lower one: this way, if you get hit, you'll not fall in the pit. Just spam the cross and eventually itemcrash to kill him. Using the whip to avoid the fireballs works pretty okay most of the time. Dracula has to be on the left side of the map before doing this, otherwise you'll have a hard time 'cause he'll be much too close of you. Quite difficult boss stage, the one from Rondo of Blood was way too easy, but this one is hard for wrong reasons.

That's one way to do it. But the axe kills both forms much faster and is defensively much more sound, especially against his second form.

Unless you took a lot of damage in the first form, defense isn't really that important for the second. You're not at risk of falling into a pit as he said, so you essentially just want to go to town on him, as with most (if not all) second forms of Dracula.

Absolute worst final boss in the series (at least of the Classicvanias). The first form is incredibly boring. Because of the size of the room you can't go to where Dracula is if he teleports to the other side, so you just have to wait until he teleports to your side. It takes forever. His second form can knock you off with ease, making you repeat his entire first form again. It's a shame, because the rest of the game is at least okay.

In Japan the PC Engine CD's title was called Devil's Castle Dracula X: Rondo of Blood, and the SNES port was Devil's Castle Dracula XX in Japan, Castlevania: Dracula X in the US, and Castlevania: Vampire's Kiss in the PAL format. As KuchKuto said though, Rondo of Blood is arguably easier than Castlevania: Dracula X, especially the final boss fight with Dracula.

@SilentStalkerX Of all my boss fight videos, this is the longest time it took me to kill Dracula. You have to remember I didn't have HyperCam and I was using SNES9x's own recording program, when you use it the emulator slows down to roughly 75% speed AND you lose all sound. In the fight Dracula laughs when he is teleporting so I didn't know when he was going to appear. I probably died atleast 20 times actually JUMPING into him because I didn't know when he was teleporting.

For me this was one of the easiest Draculas. No offense. I just used the Axe, I stayed in the pillar on the middle, and waited for him to appear on the other 2. Also, if he shoots fire or the balls, just crouch and you're safe. If it happens to appear in the middle pillar, just jump to the left one and dodge whatever he's shooting at you. It's easier to kill him with the Axe in my opinion. Nice video, brings back a lot of memories.

My feelings about this game have often been mixed. It did come after Castlevania IV, but the mechanics felt a little disappointing after the multi-directional whip system from the previous Castlevania, at least there is Dracula X Chronicles or Rondo of Blood for the same story.

When I played this game on the SNES and now in an emulator, I learned something about this particular Dracula... The axe is one of the best subweapons in this game. Try to stay in the lower platforms and when he appears on an upper one, trow him an axe. When he gets to his second form, the same technique applies, but now you should spam axes like crazy to kill him in no time.

@DDenzelSSnipes Dracula's attacks were never hard to dodge in any Castlevania. The problem is the fact that those pits are death. If you screw up once, and only once. You are bound to fall into those said pits. Trust me if you ever played the SNES version you will fall into the pit guaranteed.

This boss is hilariously bad in terms of game design. You have only like 1-2 seconds to hit Dracula in the head before he attacks, which when he does, he has invincibility activated and nothing can hit him anymore until he appears again in another area. Then you have the death pits + bounce back whenever you get hit. The pillars are designed in a way to where 80% of the time when you get hit, you fall to your death, thereby making you wonder why your health bar is there in the first place. Then as if that's not bad enough, when he turns into speedo Dracula, his attacks become much faster and deal much more damage. Not that the damage matters because one hit and your character bounces back to their death anyways. This is literally the shittiest video game boss I've ever come across.

It's a tedious fight, but with the right patterns and anticipation, it's not super hard to get through his first form without any damage or using your special weapon. I camp out on the third platform from the right and have a strategy for every possible position and attack he can unleash. Then, make sure your final hit is when he's one platform to the left. Crack him with the whip a few times, then retreat to the "safe" platform second to the right. Use two specials with axe (or boomerang), then it only will take a few more axe hits or whip shots to get him.

most of the things you described are literally every CV castlevania fight (including the few seconds to hit and invincibility), bounceback, fast and high damage attacks. the only thing new here are the bottomless pits, which you can avoid by holding crouch (it will disable your knockback if you're not attacking) or standing carefully to NOT die. there was usage of bottomless pits and extremely damaging attacks in quite a lot of other bosses in Konami games, including Castlevania 3's frankly harder final boss. you're the definition of a person who saw the video but never played Castlevania games

@koko6504 The thing is, most of the Final Boss fights of the Castlevania series ARE this, with minor exceptions. ANY fight with Dracula in his human form follows the exact pattern in this video, with only the tiniest variations (like a flat battlefield). Dracula's second form is where the differences appear, but even then, it does mostly the same thing - spits fireballs, jumps around. Sometimes has an extra attack or two. You mostly have to look to the 3D games and SoTN for true variation.

This battle shows three reasons why Rondo of Blood is better than Dracula X. In Rondo he gets pre-battle text. In Rondo the stage isn't broken up so it's not as ridiculously hard. In Rondo his transformed state is more like how it usually looks (large bestial demon). And finally in Rondo he's not showing off his package!

@Brandon5l9 Rondo of Blood has more stages, more bosses, somewhat better stage design, a second character to usemore secrets and cutscenes. The gameplay and controls are the exact same as in the SNES version.
