beautiful video but a question if the hippocampus plays the major role in short term memory , which part of the brain is used in long term memory.
@AdelBondok
@AdelBondok 8 ай бұрын
Long-term memory can hold an unlimited amount of information for an indefinite period of time. Short-term memories become long-term memories in a region of the brain called the hippocampus. The cerebral cortex is the major long-term repository for many aspects of memories. Most available evidence suggests that the functions of memory are carried out by the hippocampus and other related structures in the temporal lobe. The memories are consolidated as long-term memories in all aspects of the cerebral cortex

Dear Professor Adel Bondok, I’m a bit confused, why are you mentioning that the Limbic Lobe is a nucleus? I thought Nuclei in the brain are accumulations of nerve cell bodies :/ Please dr Adel help 🙏🙏🙏💔💔💔
@AdelBondok
@AdelBondok Жыл бұрын
The limbic lobe is a nucleus formed by collections of nerve cells in the cerebral cortex of the cingulate gyrus, parahippocampal gyrus, and uncus

Thank you professor for the brilliant explanation Kindly, i would like to ask a question please.. What is the relation between the limbic system and its name? Since limb = extremity I am curious to know 🧠
@AdelBondok
@AdelBondok Жыл бұрын
You are most welcome ❤️. Limbic derives from the Latin limbus, or "edge," and it's used to describe anatomical structures that border another part. In the case of the brain, the limbic system sits along the edge of both sides of the thalamus. In this case, the border is between the neocortex and the diencephalon.

contact report 294, February 3rd, 2001: "Billy: Well, again and again the question arises whether the character can be inherited. In my opinion this should not be the case, because during my whole life I have never noticed that descendants have the same character as one or the other parent. Therefore, I assume that each person forms his or her own individual character. First this happens through the basic character formation that takes place during pregnancy in the mother's womb. This is followed by the educational character, which is formed by education and environmental influences during the first seven years of life. And finally, through self-education the character of life is formed, which results from the first two character forms and from the character of self-education. Ptaah: 85. The character cannot be inherited and is therefore not genetically conditioned. 86. The actual character, which you correctly call life character, is formed by the basic character or pregnancy and prenatal character as well as by the educational character and the self-educational character, as you have correctly explained. 87. All three stages of character formation are therefore decisive for the final character form, the character of life. 88. The entire process of character formation takes place in the limbic system in which the instance of morality is located. Billy: This is probably the instance that decides on the negative and positive as well as on the good and bad or honest and dishonest thinking, feeling and acting? Ptaah: 89. You can also explain it this way. Billy: Good."
