Use officially licensed Scanmar equipment like door sensors and the TrawlEye to have complete control over your trawl. Upgrade it to make sure you get the biggest catch! But be sure to stay under your yearly fishing quotas, every step and every fishing run needs to be planned. 20 years of weather data recreate a realistic environment for the schools of fish in the Barents Sea, which move according to season and water temperature. It's up to you to keep track of everything.
Visit the harbor pub to hire crew members or accept missions. At the port you are also able to repair or upgrade your ships, get a loan from the bank or buy supplies and bait at the shop.
Freely explore an open world environment which recreates the stunning landscapes of northern Norway. Look for the best fishing zones with the help of your sonar, radar and GPS and catch yourself the biggest profit.

Drae, you get like triple the amount of fish if you manually haul in the fish yourself. Have one crew member helping you and the other either resting or on the machine Gut.

Buddy of mine is a RL commercial fisherman in Iceland. This game simulates his life, more or less. He has VR and digs it. I have seen one of those short chubby strange looking fishing vessels IRL in harbor in Iceland.

I actually always make a point to crash into the port, do about 30-40 damage, and have Bjarte work repairs. Now he's maxed out, 10% per hour, highest level repair

2 things the burgers are too be used when your crew are resting to build there energy back faster. Also to kill time and not fuel you can go to the dock and hit the clock then fast forwarded through time.

To go into the open ocean you need a boat that is able to do trawling eg. The lunar Bow, if you have that boat and go over to the ‘open ocean’ boat you will get an icon on the right of the screen like when you go in to dock

I wonder now that you have such a massive radar range if you could fast travel to the edge of it. pop out of fast travel mode, then back in to jump to the edge again. Would sure save you having to just slow boat it all the way.

drag burgers to crew members to raise stamina. use the least crew to cook and have them switch out with a tired crew to "eat" and keep the cook on cooking, in essence have a cook cooking constant and have other crew eating for as much as they can, you can grind out stamina and cooking skills

If you want to explore faster you can fast travel to the edge of your fog, switch to first person mode drive 2-3 meters forward to trigger your radar, go back into map view and fast travel to the new edge of the fog, rinse and repeat.

I just sailed around (in normal top/down view..not map view). Didn't have to be in first person view, but maybe the game has changed since you posted this. Having the longest/biggest area radar is also useful.

Hey drae. When you are upgrading your radar you do not have to buy all the upgrades just buy the best one because if you have the best one and buy the others two they will make no difference.
