Thank you for showing us this method. You're right, there are many videos out there BUT as I'm learning manly from videos I can see meanwhile what is business making by KZbin and what is really helpful. So I appreciate every video you post. Would be interesting to see what other options there are instead of a dart to reduce the fabric. this is clearly going towards design but inspiring. anyhow, thank you 🌴

I just came across your videos. Very helpful! I actually usually only see (and thats the way I always do) the princess seams being drafted from the bodice withs the darts going all the way to the apex. But this way feels way more logical! Will give it a try.

Hi sir, love from India. I greatly appreciate your tutorial and the way of explanation. You have strong confidence and control on your profession. I worked in garments industry for a long time in Broadway NY. I worked as overseas QC and even domestic. I was very much interested in patterns but never got any opportunity Now I feel very happy that I can learn something from you though I am not working now. Can I ask if I want to know something with your permission? Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge. God bless you with good health and wealth. Best Prem.

Could you make a tutorial on a basic pant sloper? Your videos have taught me so much. Thank you immensely.
@christophersartorial76713 жыл бұрын
I'm often asked to demo a pant draft. It's very challenging, even for professionals. Most prefer to start from an existing pattern, or trace a pattern off a well fitting pant.

How do you draft princess seams using a skirt sloper that has two darts?
@jjjdanceline41263 жыл бұрын
Very nice thank you 🙏
@deborahspooner80463 жыл бұрын
This is teaching that explains the why of things, pointing out principles. Great. Any chance of a pants sloper, please?
@christophersartorial76713 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I may eventually show a pant draft, but it's not something I recommend to beginners. Even professionals avoid drafting pants from measurements, preferring to start with an existing pattern, or copying a pattern from a pant that fits well.
@deborahspooner80463 жыл бұрын
@@christophersartorial7671 ok, I understand. On another note, I made a two dart skirt sloper. How do I draft a princess seam dress block when my skirt sloper has two darts? The single dart skirt was a little too sloped at the sides.
@emorybatten2844 жыл бұрын
Your videos are wonderful. So clear. I would love a pants sloper too. Also, I am making clothes for my husband as well as for myself. Is everything done differently in mens clothes? If so, will you be venturing into that territory? Thanks so much for fitting these videos into your other work. Stay Safe!

I'm planning to demonstrate a man's shirt draft soon. The differences between men's and women's patterns are slight. Men's jackets, however, take considerably more sewing skill.

Thanks sooo much I will be graduated soon and I’m still having problem making patterns . Please do you have an advice to give me ? Thanks 🙏🏾
@christophersartorial76714 жыл бұрын
Rely on you pattern making books, and develop a well fitting set of slopers. You can then draft almost anything, and what you can't draft, you can drape.

Thank you for these excellent videos, so easy to follow. But for my own shape, I need much more fitting. I’m nearly 70 years old and wanted to draw my self an updated bodice block because my old one didn’t work anymore. My shoulders are moving forward, my back is rounded and I still have a swayback and a flat derrière. Do you make videos for alterations?
@christophersartorial76713 жыл бұрын
Try the bodice draft and see how it works. The bodice draft method allows for differences in the front and back high point shoulder to waist measurements. You may not need alterations, though I suggest you draft the back with a slightly deeper dart at the armhole, about 3/4".

I don't understand why you don't want the princess seam to go through the real apex, can please explain? Thank you.
@christophersartorial76714 жыл бұрын
It is mearly for esthetic reasons. Modern trends find the wider spacing more visually pleasing.
