Eddie Hill still races today. He only person I have heard of to have successfully raced dragsters, then road racing motorcycles, then drag boats, dragsters again and now road racing cars!

Tim Morgan built the 440 in my 70 Challenger RT/SE It was to this day the badest fastest car Ive ever owned. I worked at his shop in WC for a short while. It didnt work out. Real bummer. But I wasnt a sales guy. I wanted to learn to work on motors. Good guy Tim was

Eddie Hill was my second favorite BFH racer, my first choice was Kenny West (RIP) Western Mag Special Kenny was a close personal friend and a true "pace setter." Eddie Hill always seemed to have a handle on things which I admire and he is a real nice guy, nothing bad there.

It's Lake Irvine in CA. I saw this race. The place to watch is out at the point.... after you experience the pits :) Morgan's FM had sucked in a wipe-down rag at start-up [someone left it on the air-intake] in the pits and was running on 7 cylinders. It was sucked in & blew out is a fraction of a second. Still won!!! Incredible.

I used to hate drag racing...until a co-worker took me to a dragboat race in San Dimas, CA; when I heard those blown engines warming up as we crested the hill from the parking lot to go down to the lake, I was hooked! I LOVE BLOWN ENGINES; there's nothing like them!

I remember the classics like Porky Pig, Mr. Ed, and Warbonnet. Warbonnet was the most beautiful boat ever with the Indian head dress that wrapped around the haul. Its funny though I cant find any of them except Porky pig when he flipped at long beach.

That was certainly true then. I don't remember what year it was, but they lost A LOT of drivers. Then capsules became mandatory in the top classes. Not foolproof by any means but a whole bunch safer than it was.

@@shanerobinson7128 my father goes in and out of my life over the last 53 years. I have no idea . I was around him in like 86 , 87 , and then 95. Saw the morgan flying machine back in his shop in menlo park in 87 . He did boats first growing up , thru the 70's and 80's . Then went into nitro funny car . He knew Eddie Hill and that era of drivers long before capsules happened. Then he had Gary Evans from Dale Armstrong crew and Whit Bazemore got his liscene in my father's car . Glenn Mikres drove , Dan Pastorini , Dale Pulde even once . I toured as bottom end mechanic in 88 on his car .
