Nice haul there . Brought back some good memories. I grew up in Pirongia , so went flounder netting at Kāwhia and Aotea Harbour quite a bit . Dad and myself on the net and the younger bros chasing the flounder down to us ! Good times .

At the moment but it's slowly getting worse especially our rivers due to intense dairy farming geez down south they are farming right along side the rivers now they are stagnant pools and you can't harvest anything from them. It's the end for an old kiwi tradition spearing eels and flounder also.

Used to live along that bay, set the net many times, pātiki, parore, kahawai, and walk right across to those rocks for oysters, such a Beautiful place is Kawhia. Still love the drive out there when back in Aotearoa Churr
