Your “flounder” sure looks like a “halibut” says this Alaskan. Cool episode!!!!
@kainoschanchui37942 жыл бұрын
i knew there was gonna be a comment like this in alaska i know they call them halibut but in outher countrys they are called different name new zealand we call it a giant flounder because we dont get them at that size we normally get pn sized flounders thats why we just call them giant flounders
@tunite1211 ай бұрын
Fooled a lot of Kiwis (New Zealanders) good for a laugh. You all sure are lucky to have a species like that on your doorstep, having said that New Zealand has plenty of fish eh.

You talking about the rocks under that giant flounder ??
@toopesedits24943 жыл бұрын
Really?? Lol you can see the hole from the hook in the flounders mouth and fishing line at the end of the vid, that’s why it looked so unnatural in the water (because it was being pulled, and explains why it didn’t put up much of a fight either and could get all those underwater shots.

I have fished for flounder in the manukau harbour most of my life and I have never heard of the giant flounder. There was something g sus about that flounder. They were on mud then all of a Sudden on rocks lol Oh the good old days on the manukau. Grandad swearing at me the boat and the wind as we drop the flounder net on the banks at low tide.. watching them hit the net in the shallow water..picking some flax to put through all the flounders we would catch. 🙏🏽

You know bro if you take one of those big flounder and gut and gill them rake the scales off. Cut down the spin on the top side butterfly open ...you can stuff it with some crabmeat and stuffing and throw it on the bar b que and you will be hard pressed to find anything better as far as food goes. Also if you make your flounder gigs out of stainless althread they stick to the gig and you don't have to reach under them to pick them up.

I'd love to see the study that claimed 98% of snapper start in harbours is it available to look at?
@lukawilliams48223 жыл бұрын
In New Zealand maybe. But not Australia
@truthbetold20123 жыл бұрын
@@lukawilliams4822 weird huh a lot of these studies are funded and used by government to take control over these areas..

@@truthbetold2012 you would think then the manukau harbour would have a high percentage of those juveniles also!!

You lot do know that a stingray in that position when you are getting the hook out could flick its barb forward and spear both of you in the head or chest. They shoot them forward over their head like a scorpion if you can touch the face it can stab you over its back simple.
