The judge who started crying right when the last audition by Shahar Admoni started already knows her from when they met in a hospice where Shahar's mother was hospitalized shortly before she died of cancer. Shahar was 10 yo at the time and the judge (her name is Miri Mesika) invited her to sing with her in one of her concerts. So she was really emotional to begin with and didn't need much to get the waterworks running.

You should check story about Linet. She is born and raised in Israel by Israeli father and Turkish mother but she deserted Israeli army and fled to Turkey where she stayed for 20 years and became famous singer in Turkey. Israel had a rule that someone can't represent the country internationally if they have not served army. I don't know is Israel still keeps that rule and what will happen if Linet wins. There's one thing that some people holding against Linet is her performance on antiisrael rally while she was in Turkey.
