Those people probably just got go the parts because they auditioned, and the mall is a place that studios rent out to film in countless movies and tv shows have used it before stranger things

I think the first one was off putting to a lot of people because it embraced a lot of the campiness of 90’s slasher films (which I don’t necessarily mind), but I really think it improved with each movie. I will never forgive the reincarnation scenes in 1994 and 1978 for being so unrealistic and basically physically impossible though
