GalaxyTron Yes it does have a great accel and I actually like the older Skyline better...I saw a video where a tuned Audi R8 using standard tired beat a GTR which had more horse power and drag tires. The GTR tries to hard in my opinion and HAS to be modified or it just sucks in stock..but cars like the 911 and 12C are made powerful..plus after reaching 260km/h-ish..the GTR starts to vibrate violently because its not designed for high speeds.

All three are great cars. But given the choice, and a East to West coast USA trip, I would prefer to put my bag in the Turbo S and enjoy the ride - of the 3, I think it is better for real world, everyday use.

Having owned the last turbo s and just upgraded to the new one. The acceleration is like nothing else! Both at low speeds 0-60 but also further on such as 90-150. Despite feeling heavier than the old turbo s the power more than makes up for it and the 4 wheel steering is fantastic

I kind of doubt that you own the new 991 Turbo S. Otherwise you wouldn't make such a claim. The new 991 Turbo S feels much lighter than the old one, even if it is aprox. 20-25 kg heavier (which btw. is a weight increase you wouldn't be even able to feel). Due to the AWS (all-wheel-steering), the next gen chassis and the new steering, the new 991 Turbo S actually feels much lighter than the weight would indicate. So either you don't own one or you just didn't pay attention. The new 991 Turbo S feels like a 991 Carrera, weight-wise, maybe even slightly lighter and I'm not kidding.

GTR way better than Porsche Turbo s a 2012 Nissan GTR lap time in Nurburgring is 7:1 something Turbo S lap 7:26 and don't forget Porsche power to weight ratio is 344 bhp per tone GTR power to weight ratio 312bhp per tone So the result is GTR have 32bhp less power to weight compare to Porsche and 70more lb/ft torque than GTR but GTR still beat Turbo S in price... as u said and mostly performance

that 991 Turbo S is so violent from a dig! Of course the 12C catches it eventually with its superior power-to-weight ratio but just to 100mph, that 911 gives it a run for its money! Its all relative though because of the price disparity between the 3 cars. All winners. Well, maybe except for the 12C since its been deemed obselete now that the more powerful and better looking 650S and 675LT have been introduced!

I do get a good chuckle from reading the comments posted by GT-R fan-boys. "Yeah but, the 911 Turbo S and the McLaren cost twice as much", "wait until the GT-R NISMO comes out", or "race both the 911 Turbo S and the McLaren against the GT-R ALPHA and see what happens :D". If you GT-R fan-boys want an unfair race, why not put a car such as the McLaren P1 against the GT-R NISMO and GT-R ALPHA, and watch both of them get shit on. To get a far better perspective of how close that race was it should be shown with a normal lens (not rounded to elongate distance) and without the time pausing. After 1km of racing they finished 0.7sec apart, the blink of an eye. Well done to all 3 cars, very fast.

Engine design is every thing. Porsche made a 4.0 liter engine that produced 500hp with OUT a turbo or a supercharger. That's 120hp per liter naturally breathing. That's more power that the new C7 6.2 Liter Corvette.

Hell don't take my word for it go on the craigslist, and see how many Porsche you can find with well over 100,000 miles on them. A true modern performance engine should produce at least 90hp per liter. That's a perfect balance between dependability and performance. If the C7 6.2 liter produced that kind of power it would be rated at 560HP Now that would be respectable. The Ford Mustang 5.0 liter makes 87hp per liter so it should not be a problem for GM to get more power out of that big ass 6.2 liter engine.

CarandRacer Well the reason why this gtr was smoked by the 911 was because it was stock. Honestly I love all 3 of the cars but I don't think it is a fair matchup because they are not using a stock Porsche turbo they are using a turbo S with is about 0.3 seconds faster than the stock Porsche turbo S. The stock GTR takes 3.3 seconds with launch control. If they used an alpha 9 or 12 it would win. The GTR Track would at least be able to tie the Turbo S at 2.7 seconds for Launch control, however the Alpha 12 launches at 2.5 seconds at the best and was officially tested by Motor Trend. The GTR Nismo was confirmed 0-60 at 2 seconds flat. I'm not a GTR Fanboy but I like both the GTR and the 911 turbo S and the Mclauren is pretty good but not my favorite.

***** Alpha 12 is a mod for the Nissan, its not stock. The turbo s is stock.If you want to mod a turbo s (which i highly recommend you not to do) you can tune it with DMS and get something far more powerful than the Nissan Alpha 12. Moding a car is not a great feat, building it is.

Sarath Joseph Lol. I want to make sure I am reading what you wrote correctly. You are stating that by simply TUNING a Turbo S - that you will get something "far more powerful" than an Alpha 12? I think you need to wake up from la la land. An Alpha 12 has over 1000/1300 awhp (pump/race fuel). You would become a very wealthy person if you could create about 700 awhp with simply a tune. An A12 runs mid 8's at 165 MPH and went 0-300 km/hr in under 13 seconds (that's faster than a Koenigsegg Agera R). This is due to the fact the ENTIRE car is rebuilt (engine, fuel and turbos for example). So you are a tiny tiny bit off in your post.

GTR is still the best value for money in my opinion when it comes to performance. Nothing wrong with Japanese reliability & engineering. (These two other cars are two to three times the value of the GTR) Porsche is pure luxury, sports, prestigious & can be used as a daily driver & looks great & to top it off you have German engineering hence reliability on your side. Mclaren.. just too overdone, ugly & trying to look like a "look at me, look at me" Italian car but is British all the way. My pick: Porsche 911 Turbo S. Equipped with AWD twin turbo chargers & would look so gorgeous if dressed in white. Thats what I love about Porsche, they dont overstyle their cars unlike some Itialian cars we know. But i would like to say that: -The single car in the world that has almost the same aerodynamic shape/profile since 1963 is the Porsche. It takes a long time for the 12C to catch up with the Turbo S, in the real world on a track the 12C wouldn't be a match for the S, much like the P1 is no match for the 918 on a most tracks.

Porsche is around 190k, Mclaren around 230k and GTR is 100k. It did pretty good for its price. Standard GTR was meant to compete against Porsche Turbo not Porsche Turbo S. For Turbo S, they have $150k GTR Nismo. FYI - Nismo GTR just recently set an amazing time on NurburgRing race track at 7:08. Very, very few cars can beat that.

GTR fans are so defensive! Of course they are fast, and Some think pretty cool to drive and own. I think that GTR fans have to admit that the GTR is outclassed by higher end and more refined engineering by a long shot i.e.: Porsche and several other Tier 1 sports cars. Yes Nissan has done a great job making a crazy fast car. But when it's comes down to all other aspects of a sports car other than 0-60 the GTR is left in the dust no question about that… If price were not an issue there is no GTR owner that wouldn't pick a GTR over a 918, Mclaren, Veyron, Porsche Turbo s etc etc etc...

Of course turbo s is the best car here. The Porsche provides following advantages: 1) turbo s is rather cheap (almost the best price/result ratio in the class and definitely the best price/result ration among these three 2) Porsche is much more reliable than both, Nissan and Mclaren (there are a lot of facts in the background of that statement) (my experience of owning Porsche cars in comparison with my previous Japanese crap can only prove my words) (check KZbin video of 911 making 50+ launch control starts and ask yourself: can gtr do that? 3) Porsche offers you something different from all others with outstanding results. What is unique about GTR? It is just a usual car with a usual V6, usual AWD system and classical chassis. Without any doubt, I admire all the numbers and results of GTR, but it's all can be easily done with any other car of same configuration. However, the 911 is completely different story - it gives you all its unique features)))

Jerfanian Every car show and magazine top gear,car and driver,motor trend all state that Porsche has there work cut out for them. The gtr might be 0,2 seconds sower to 60 but are you honesty willing to pay 200,000$ more for it. No doubt the Porsche is fast, nice and classier but its the price difference is so great the isent a comption. The Porsche's has more money in addition options then the gtr is worth. Please don't say the gtr has no soul if you ever get a chance to drive a gtr you'll see that the gtr has a soul and a violent one.

You absolutely right ... from 100mph+ the 650S is def. faster than the 991 Turbo S. On the other hand the Tesla S85 D is faster than the 650S 0-45 :) Doesn't make one 'better' or 'worse'. Just one of 100 variables where one is ahead. I'm still surprised why GTR FB/owners do not point out the usable trunk more often ... that's something which is very nice on the GTR vs these other cars, sometime you don't have to be best at all.

The GTR was never designed for 1 km, standing mile, or top speed. It was really designed for 0-60, 1/4 mile, and at the track, although the NISMO GTR will do a lot better in the standing 1km and standing mile.
