Attack button won’t work when using launch control, car will already have more power in launch mode than you would get using attack.

@@scottsmith1653 have you tested on yours? We ran some Dragy times after this and it’s faster 10-200kph using attack mode on a roll than it was using just launch control. I’m thinking maybe due to having so few miles?

@@JCRDevelopments You need to do some research about the claimed power figures of the GT car. In every day driving mode the car has 778hp, when you push the attack mode button this increases power by 163hp to 941hp. That’s it, that’s all you’re getting. If using launch control, you supersede all that with 1019hp but for 2secs that will nudge 1092hp (Search the 2024 Pistonheads review of the car for reference) What this means is that you will always get better acceleration from a launch (no need to press that button off a launch) - I have the Turbo S, not the GT model, works in the same manner. Your own tests may be down to battery charge, I have found maximum acceleration in these comes from 90-100% charge level, as soon as it starts dropping below about 75% performance on the dragy box starts dipping slightly for me. Also, can’t really test the metrics at the moment due to the weather, grip being the most critical factor. You’ll be able to test this all out better in around June when traction is a lot stickier. I suspect launch control / traction issues will be stopping the car from utilising its full power at the minute. You should be able to tell by doing a 1/4m time or a 0-60 time. The GT car in the summer will be hitting sub 2sec 60 and low 9 sec 1/4. Suspect at the moment you’ll be looking at 2 sec+ and higher 9’s. All to do with traction and power removal by the LC system. It was a point to note in the video when you were messing about with that button and the reason it was only working whilst rolling (you were actually getting less power vs that from launch) Enjoy

@ I gotta say it is impressive how well the Tesla handles the wet road, but in all other drag races with dry road I saw the Turbo GT won. And even in the Carwow video it’s just a question about who gets the traction at the start.

Plaid is much slower it depends on conditions, driver ability to unleash a full potential of a car. On ABT channel Taycan GT destroys Tesla while using attack mode.

True… its cheapter. Its a piece of cheap trash. Its a fast battery. Porsche is a real sportscar with best stearing, suspension, quality interior, best brakes and much faster corner speed. And it looks also way better. I own a tesla AND a taycan. Dont even compare a tesla to a porsche.

I own a 2022 992 Turbo S and have a lot of experience with it. The proper way to launch it is to get weight in it. I use180 lbs of concrete in the frunk, full tank of gas, a passenger, sport + mode, over boost button. I ran it on a drag strip and feathered it at the end to keep it over 10.0. On my last run when I was ready to go home I ran a 9.9 and promptly got kicked out. Wat too much fun!

That defies the laws of physics, you’re adding unnecessary weight and should be running that car as low weight as you can for the best possible times. If traction is tricky, you warm the tyres and reduce tyre pressures and find some sticky warm tarmac to launch on. What you’re saying makes zero sense and defies the laws of physics.

Attack mode is when you're not in launch control and only gives you 1019hp for 10sec. Launch control gives you 1092hp for 2.2sec

What we learned is 1000 ev hp & instant torque beats 650 hp and non instant torque , no great surprise. As other's have alluded , I'd like to see a re-run with a ES Motor special. Especially from a roll.

These guys seem to be clueless about electric cars and especially the Taycan GT! There are very few cars that can beat this stock! Lucid Sapphire and the Rimac! I’m not sure about the new Bugatti. Plaid is very close and it goes back and forth depending on conditions.

Uhh u might wanna watch Daniel abt... taycan with attack mode destroys the plaid. Carwow surface was just terrible. Both cars couldn't even do low 9s. Both on good roads and the taycan takes it. Plus the taycan doesn't need to be preconditioned and doesn't get brake overheating failures.
