Paul Shumaker thank you so much! zzp has a big collection of product for the ats. Beware of the intake mod. The stocker has a built in oil catch can. If you mod the intake make sure you get an aftermarket catch can. I found dexos 2 is completely necessary. Premium fuel as well. Plus Techron every year. And a clean air filter is a must at all times or you’ll start sucking oil. My 2 cents!! Enjoy 😎

looks exciting! now i want to try my 2018 Mercedes GLS450 fully stock suppose to do 0-60 in 5.7 sec. it's a heavy SUV with bi-turbo. I've tested it a few times on the highway getting on the ramp, seems about right.

As they say at the drag strip, "run what ya brung!" :) You would have a blast. The best part of the drag strip is the safety and its completely legal. It is SO much fun. I always get a little adrenaline rush when I stage at the lights. Love it.

Use sport mode and shift the car every gear at 5500-5700 rpm. The car falls on its face after 5500rpm 🙏.

I did not! Only turned off traction control. Sport mode changes shift points but not for full throttle like in a drag race. You can feel the car dies at 5000 rpm.

I’m so tempted but need it to be a commuter with ok gas mileage. My last street/strip car ran high 11s with mods but I was getting 12 mpg! I might tweak..... a little.

Michael Byrne The Gad mileage stayed the same with the bolt ons and tune. You’ll be amazed by how much a tune only wakes up this LTG engine and retains stock drivability. Going 65~70 on the highwayI average 30~32 MPG. In the city, it’s about 18~20MPG. Pretty fair for a 12 second car 😆

@@sstressfl I second his recommendation. I've done a throttle body, downpipe, pcm ecu replacement and muffler delete. I havent dynoed it (don't care to) but according to zzp, it should be 40-50hp bump with negligible if not better gas mileage

Great video! Hey, I heard you say your ATS trapped 93 on the first run. What was your trap speeds on the rest of the improved ET's? My two best runs when my 2015 Infiniti Q50 3.7 Premium RWD was stock before my mods was... 13.51 @ 103.88 and my second best was 13.57 @ 102.5 So much fun! I can't wait to run now that I have an extra 73 HP and 50 LB-FT of power from my mods.

Then upgrade to Eradispeed Brakes after that, but unfortunately I hit a full grown deer at 60 mph and destroyed my Q50! Insurance paid off the car, and I was able to part out most of the mods, so I made some of the $ back. I put a lot of $ into that car, so I'm pissed a stupid deer ran out in front of me! It happened so fast, that I didn't even hit the brakes until after I smashed into it. It was well over $10k to fix the car, and a car is never the same after an accident like that, plus the title was screwed, so I told them to junk it after I got my mods off the car. Thankfully every part I pulled off the car sold at least. I miss my Q50! I haven't decided what I'm going to buy yet. I'm waiting until late spring and saving extra $. Sorry for the long reply.

Hey bro you should wait for the car your racing to pre stage before you light the second bulb. If you pull in to early your opponent can time out and you end up running a solo run. Its like track edict. Its also hard on your car if your brake boosting for 30 seconds waiting for the other car to stage. Not trying to be a dick but wanting to give you a few tips that might help out at a future track day.

Tommy Miller the car overrides anything outside of its programmed shifting points so I just leave it in drive, brake torque a little bit, then punch it. I’m sure you can pick up a little et by having the shift-torque-reduction removed but I’m not sure if that effects longevity. How’s your tune? How much hp did you pick up??

I own one in awd 2.0t and if you take the track and stability control off and stall to about 2200 rpm and the let it eat it will do the 60ft in 1.9 to 1.8

I bought it used with 17k on the odometer and had to do a serious cleanup/tune-up. Previous owner neglected proper maintenance/oil/fuel/filters. But it cleaned up great! Right now its stock. Only "mod" is a K&N air filter.

Steve J hmmmm I usually drive it in sport mode but can’t say 100%. However, 14.4 is standard et for a stock ATS4 2.0t 👍 BTW, I want to try it again now that I have the transmission fluid changed. It drives so much better. Would be curious if it picked up a tenth 🤗

I couldn't tell if you were already doing this, but if you hold the TC button down it will turn off the traction control and then after about 15 seconds it turns it all the way off. I believe it turns off the stability control as well. This way the computer won't try and cut power if/when it senses any wheel spin. I never did any drag racing in my ATS but I could tell a huge difference when I was having fun sliding around and whatnot. Great video man! I hope you're still enjoying her. Any plans for future upgrades? Maybe a tune? :)

That was my second run!! My first run I just wanted to be in daily driver mode to see what it would do. Then I killed TC. The dealer is working on a few things under warranty but it’s still my fav. And no plans for mods. This engine is at peak in stock trim. Too many engine failures with mods. I’m just going to drive it and enjoy it. I am looking at swapping out the rear sway. But that’ll do it 😎 Appreciate the feedback! Thanks man 🙏

Nothing wrong with keeping a great car stock(ish) though. I bet that Hemi owner was ordering parts before he got out of the car though lol. But yeah, great video, keep posting.

My 14’ ATS RWD did a 13.9@ 104 bone stock. Footbraked to about 1800rpm. Anything higher it spins. 14.4 I’m selling the car 🤣 I think my slowest was a 14.1 and that was spinning. Can’t wait to get these mods on

also, i am pretty good at drag racing.. and in a FWD manual car. you need to launch way harder and do a better burnout before. that car can hit a high 13 stock. will post vids once i get mine

IssaAltima I hear ya man! But my car is awd running very soft UHP tires. No slip at all. It’s an automatic and the torque converter is designed for gas mileage not launching. It’s frighteningly tight. It’ll handle mild torque braking but it will not do a burnout. And yes this car in rwd might be able to find a 13, but the awd models all run low to mid 14s in stock trim.

@@Kiss__Kiss Ive owned a lot of cars. But this 2015 ATS is by far my fav. I run 93. GM recommends 93 to keep the engine clean. The ATS likes 93. Not the AWD, but the RWD ATS did have an optional manual 6 speed.

I live on the West Coast, therefore Zero 93 octane for us, our highest octane is 91 Guess that's out. Although, I believe there may be one perhaps two stations out of the way, but which sell 93. PS: If and when, it would have to be AWD so automatic it is..

I got it down to 14.4 with a little break torquing :) 15.1 is quick especially in a 4000 lb car from 1996! And 87mph!? I am impressed, especially when you consider that most of the hottest muscle cars from the 60s and early 70s ran 15 and 16 seconds in stock trim back in the day.

Never hurts to be a little safer. The track requires it of cars running 13.99 or faster. But I've seen a slower car destroyed by a faster car that looses control. Anything can happen out there. That guardrail sure is hard.

@@sstressfl then you should probably wear one on the highway and also add a roll cage even though you wont run 11.49. Your best option would be to get after it and justify your helmet by calling zzp to get some parts and a tune on that thing. Really wake up the boost. They supposed to take well to a tube. Zzp has everything for your car, 3800 series v6, and cobalt ss/saurn ion redline

It’s highly recommended by track officials for a reason. Im not sure why you have such angst about it. It has no effect on your life. And I have no plans to mod this car now. It’s been at the dealer for a total of 115 days for warranty repair. It can’t even seem to handle a stock tune. It’s ok though. I have an 11 second bike that I mod to keep me busy 👍 and best of all, it’s riding season. My best to you! Thanks for sharing your perspective on things. We’re different people bro and that’s ok.

We called it torque braking when I was growing up. My TC is not loose enough to do 3k. It stops at around 1200.
