I don’t think Hira is acting out of self preservation- I don’t think she knows that the crimson knight is Meredith, or doesn’t know who Meredith is in the first place. Hira just wants to bring Tevinter down at any cost, and so was already primed for becoming involved with the cult. I think she’ll likely become one of those people who think they’re considered kin by the group they’ve joined and betrayed their own kind for, and assured safety and protection for being ‘one of the good ones’, only to far too late realise that the group they’ve joined view them with the same disdain, and that once they’ve used them up will throw them in with the rest of their victims.

Yep, I agree. She is blinded by vengeance and enables someone even worse to do horrible things through her own willful ignorance. This will totally bite her in the ass and I will thoroughly enjoy it when it does.

Absolution was a nice refresher to the series after so long after inquisition, the story is fun and compelling. also coming into dreadwolf with the connections to tevinter in absolution maybe their could be a chance that maybe some of the absolution characters may be potential companions.

In true Dragon Age fashion, this show continues to mercilessly abuse Hawke's legacy by having yet another DA2 villain still alive and kicking. At this point, I just need Oscar Isaac to step in front of the camera, take a resigned sigh and say "Somehow the Arishok returned."

Bioware should sell DA rights to the company that developed Baldurs Gate 3 and they should reboot it all to have the full potential unleashed.. it was supposed to be the best original dark fantasy from the 2000's but turned into banter lines of sexual tension while a HUGE DRAGON.. is about to burn people to ashes...

I hope they have another season, and that it’s a bit longer than 6 episodes. The pacing was a bit chaotic, I had a hard time getting into it and attached until the end. However, maybe because all of this background has been establish another season would be fine at the same pace. But more dragon age content is always good!

I can't be the only one who wants a DA Absolution season 2 before Dreadwolf comes out or am I? Also, Red Dog studios, they need to collaborate with Bioware's O.G. writers someday in the future again. I would love a Dragon Age Origins anime. Patrick Weekes, Frank Darrah and the other team of writers collab with Red Dog studios for a Dragon Age Origins anime. It would be a dream come true to see Lyna Mahariel, Aedan Cousland, Farren Aeducan in anime form along with Alistair, Morrigan, Leliana, Wynne, Shale, Oghren, Dog, Sten and Zevran. Ah, if only dreams can come true.😢

Merideth is my favourite zealot villain to date, I look forward to her return to the games if that’s the direction they choose to take, I would be sad if it was limited to the show. It would be cool to hear her opinion of a Hawke that joined her versus a Hawke that helped the mages. Maybe bonus respectful dialogue about them if they handed the conspirators to her in act 3. I would love to beat her as a secondary boss similar to the brood mothers or the final boss of The Decent DLC.

Honestly it's disapointing. And i think i'm being kind. Global : That show is bad. If you have no knowledge of dragon age it's not a good door on this rich world. want to get in here have 10 lines of exposition, inquisition, herald of andraste, Casandra... if never played the game WTF are all those random stuff & title To me it has be created for fans & just for it which is a shame. Writting is rushed. 1) DAI made a point to tell not everything is as it seems not all magisters are evil, or damage to the point of no return... guess what all magister/tevinter mages in absolution Are evil selfabsorbed & damaged to the point of no return. 2) Relationship are Rushed, sorry but most of them have no interest (i know that's a me problem i don't care for shipping), the only one that is complicated Rezaren/Miriam. It could have been rich with a nice balance between slave/master and adoptive brother/sister relationship. But it's brush off with cliche one sided delusion. 3) Can't the dead stay dead... i mean Meredith really ? and that cliffanger is useless/ means nothing if you never played DA2. 4) Didn't learn from DA rise of the seeker. Jump 3m in heavy armor... crap. Charaters : Hira is fairly well written Miriam back ground is deep but wasted Rezaren wasted by is high delusion shame Qwidlon is fun without feeling stupid Dwarf is forgetable Roland is ok Tassia is nice A little better than rise of the seeker... but not enough to make it good.

@@MadeToBeLikeU I'm following jack for awhile now but still... ok. As DA fan the thing that bothered me was i enjoyed more the theories you can have out of the show than the show itself. And i stand by what i s say if the animation is ok. it's still a below averge show. Really the relation between character i was the most involve into felt butchered. That's my feeling about it, it ok to not agree. And i mean it more over when world with "no lore" like mario or sonic do enjoyable movies. League of legend toss you things like arcane. Video game can give you nice movies/shows. This one is only good for fans i stand by it. I do think for someone whon never played any DA its a bad gateway into the universe & lore. That is my opinion it ok not to share it. i can tell why i don't like it, and yeah agree the show could have been a master peace i love DA universe. But yeah the show didn't make me like the character as much as it could and took some narrative short cut i didn't like. It just also pained me that everything you did with Hawk was for nothing... coripheus wasn't dead, now meredith's alive, orsino next ? where does it stops ?

Except for Meredith's revival I'm perfectly fine if Absolution is never addressed in the series going forward. If you need to name an example when referring to the "Netflix adaptation" trope, Absolution is probably your best choice. It's very clear that the people who made it were given their start and endpoint for the story and with the middle they could just fuck about. While the novels and comics usually centered around an Important faction or an established character, Absolution just gave us a random dnd style party of unlikeable walking character tropes on a heist. And of course it couldn't stay that but instead it needed to connect to the bigger story to make it a necessity to watch it in order to understand the plot going forward. And I would have liked a smaller story like Andor did, but not as THE inevitable Entry point into the series for a lot of people. Rant over

I love Dragon Age, but I didn't care for Absolution much. I didn't think there was much of a plot, and what little plot there was was overshadowed by constant, overly long fight scenes. I don't mind a fight scene here and there, but it just seems like overkill to me.

Agreed!!!!! Where is the "dark fantasy vibe"?! Where is the sense of urgency and dread caused by a fucking huge dragon?!?! Dragons are "godlike beings" and still noboby seems to care much about one trying to kill you... after all.. therr is some sexual tension going on.. cmooon.. This is bad narrative.. at least.. for adults or young adults.. maybe it works for 15 year old people.. and that's fine.. but simply by the "ressurection" of some villains you can see that there are so many narrative mistakes and inconsistences that you feel completely OUT of what should be a very immersive universe

I don't think there will be a season 2 because this plot will be solved in Dreadwolf. The player will likely have to confront the Crimson Knight and his scheme while possibly recruiting Miriam as a companion and deciding Hira's fate during that questline.

My main grip with Absoluton is that any major villain Hawke kills is not really dead, here already seeing Orsino coming back. Seriously now, I think some of the main characters were a bit underdeveloped, not surprising considering the very few episodes. Hira is somwhat of an exception but I am personally let down by Qwydion. I like her character, not amazing but ok. Just wish she had more toned features in her face or bigger muscles, as of now she just looks like a tall human in a Qunari costume

idk if i would hold out hope for season 2. netflix cancels all the shows i like. meredith's plan, whatever it is, will be self-serving (return to a "physical" form/kill ALL the mages). i dont think she knows about solas, and she most likely lied to hira to get her cooperation, which means hira doesn't know who meredith is. why hira would trust any templars, red or otherwise, is beyond me. my only complaint is losing fairbanks. i wanted to know so much more about him in DAI, and was so excited to see him in the show. i knew he couldnt be the traitor though, and im glad they flushed that out before the end. but, now hira is gonna have to deal with the inquisitor she betrayed. i dont think any of the player characters (Warden/Hawke/Inquisitor) will appear in the show though, probably just talked about. they dont want to make a canon surrounding their gender/class/race.

Agreed.. childish and cheesy and felt like DA for 12 year old kids... jokes and overpowered characters that made you feel that it would be a happy ending from minute 1 of the show... not a "dark fantasy" at all. DAO fans who met this universe from the beggining are all probably feeling as I do..... frustrated to say the least

I found Absolution boring, generic, and identityless. Sorry. I love Dragon Age, there is a reason why I have written 200 fan fics about it, but this was in my humble opinion as bad as these fan fics (never said I was good at it, haha), in the skin of the Dragon Prince, which is not what I wanted. It felt about as connected to Dragon Age as Lost in Space feels to Mass Effect. I don't mean to hate. In fact, I don't hate. I just feel kinda meh, that was shallow and unnecessary. Still love this channel, though, and all the hard work you put in.

Maybe he did not stab them in the back, but Hawke trusted him, and he used that trust to make them unaware accomplice in blowing up Chantry. Anyhow, in every entry there was a mage with an ulterior motive; even Morrigan had her own goal to achieve and helped HoF because it was convenient.

@@rabbitishJKR Morrigan helped because her mom essentially forced her, then she found out about her mom’s true motives. Other than her feigning for power, it’s out of character for Morrigan to want to fulfil her mom’s prophecy by retrieving the old god soul and it’s not even canon.

@@rabbitishJKR I don’t agree, but even for those who do see what Anders did as terrible, he was not acting in direct opposition to all Hawke was trying to achieve. Unless I suppose one plays an anti-mage Hawke who agrees with Meredith and the templars, which isn’t entirely doable in game without some head canon work, and I’m not sure that very many people do play that route outside of ‘asshole playthroughs’. Similarly, Morrigan was not working against the HoF, she just had her own reasons for going along with it all. Nothing she did was damaging to the cause. Nothing she did truly contradicted her previous words or actions or the battle at hand. Working towards her own goal while also helping the HoF is not wrong. I’m not sure it’s possible to even say she lied. Also, several non-mage companions had ulterior motives, but an ulterior motive is not a betrayal, having different reasons for doing the same thing is hardly unusual or bad. And there are other companions who in my view _did_ betray their respective protagonists and nobody seems to acknowledge that for some reason.

And Morrigan's leaving, no matter if you agreed to perform the ritual, made some people feel betrayed. The difference was when she left-before or after battle. Ok so anyone else get the idea they will use this to fix any plot problems. So lets say someone is essential to the story allister for his great dragon blood would be an example. Oh he died in your world state thats ok we used this ouroborus to bring them back. Can literally be used as a do over for the storyline if a character is essential.

I both love and hate this possibility, I never thought of it! If they do bring back dead characters, hopefully they follow your idea and use the circulum as an excuse. It would offer a clear canonical way of retconning instead of leaving us with strange theories like the ones on Leliana's "survival."

Whelp, probably gonna catch flak for this. I really didn’t like Absolution. I really dislike what happened to Fairbanks personally, but objectively I think the plot point was handled well. Though it was obviously a red herring and I’m honestly surprised you didn’t catch on immediately to who the traitor was. Because you have really good takes on lore and good deductive reasoning and detail recognition in your videos. Disliked Miri a bit, something about her rubbed me the wrong way. Her relationship with Rezaren was weird. Can’t put my thumb on it but that whole portion was off for me. I really don’t want another magical mcguffin in the story so if it gets a season 2 I hope they wrap that up. And lastly I really HATE the reintroduction of Meredith into the story, especially as another potential big bad. I mean, it’s another problem that stems from one of Hawke’s villains. It once again chips away at Hawke’s success. And it would be difficult as heck to weave Hawke into the story because of their possible fates. Hawke was basically pointless now. Hawke helped free Corybutt. Meredith was on her way to crazy red statue anyways, beating and containing her is now undone. The only baddie he stopped was the Arishok. Anyways back on point. Wish they hadn’t made Absolution. At least not this version.

Miss the dark fantasy feelings and the "serious" and urgency vibes of DAO... So many scenes had such a childish vibe that I could not feel touched by it.... So sad with that... is there anyone else who feels the same?! I liked the main Character... and thats pretty much that... the rest was a bit too silly ... that series blue eyes samurai, for instance, released recently, had no dragons and no demons and the fights and actions of th3 charcters felt much more "dangerous" and important.. even though it is more mundane and simplistic as an overall narrative...

Overall, this cartoon sucked but after Arcane most will. I love the voice actor of the elf, Ashley? does Aloy for Horizon and is amazing. The female qunari was a bit funny. Really ticked about Fairbanks; one of the only kind, decent humans in the game. Everything else was just simple to figure out. Female human was always going to betray female elf. Vent mage was always going to be a blood mage. The female human templar was always going to be a weak simpering female that ignored the horrendous things her love interest does because it's a game and game developers always give females stupid, drunkards and or evil men to fall for. At least BioWare attempts to make good looking men; probably for the men to romance but women benefit. Bethesda goes out of their way to make butt ugly male romances for woman. I think the worst thing about the cartoon besides the obvious betrayels was the absolute lack of life in it. There were no people, animals or birds wandering about in this city or none that I can remember. The lack of a living background was just sad. It would be interesting to fight mad meri again. The only superb thing about DA2 were the boss fights. The Arishok was the best/most difficult of all the games. Not sure how many times my Hawke died as a mage but it took forever. I'm curious to find out if taking 'Solas's idol' out of Meri's heart is what brought her back. I have always believed that when Mythal convinced Solas to be her general? she pulled him from being a spirit to elf form. Could be why both of the figures on either side of idol's main figure with the pointy crown have a missing arm. The missing arm just a callback to power leaving our Inky losing their arm.
