I love Dragon 🐉 Age Inquistion but the Trespasser DLC ruins it. In Game of Thrones, Littlefinger rightfully deduced that, “Chaos can be a ladder, for progress.” DA3 has a fantastic opening! The sky is falling. Institutions are failing. And The Inquisition is ready to answer the call and oh boy do they. But then after the villain is defeated and the Breach in sky is sealed and healed. In the Trespasser DLC The Chantry, Orlais and some of your very own inner council members try to gaslight the Inquisitor into disbanding The Inquisition. As if no future crisis will arise. As if The Inquisition couldn’t be a force for good all over Thedas. Employing people. Giving meaning to their lives by helping them be productive members of society. I became very invested in building my Inquisition to the utmost heights of prosperity, progress and purpose. I grew to care for all my new recruits. Squadmates and otherwise. I networked. We built Keeps everywhere that we could. Only to have all of our hard work and 10’s of gameplay hours be brought to nothing in The Trespasser DLC. Because The Inquisition is disbanded and BioWare doesn’t even let us fight for it’s survival! I remember thinking it was preposterous that the Inquisitor was planning to attack Orlais and other places in the vision that we saw if we decided to ally with The Grey Wardens to help us seal the Breach. But when I was playing The Trespasser DLC, I now knew that the vision we saw on that mission wasn’t preposterous at all. Because I wanted to “choose violence” against Orlais if they dared try to control my Inquisition! I’m a proud American 🇺🇸 and my families history goes way back to fighting in the war for our independence from the King of England. And I take the best of our American Values with me wherever I go. Irl or DL (Digital Life) so I got excited about the possibilities as The Herald of Andraste to do precisely as Lady Andraste did and change the World of Thedas for the better! What I loved about The Inquisition was that we were simultaneously a Passive Protagonist & Active Protagonist. We were the new kids on the block, with a long history. So to see the current established order bristle so much at our existence. When we were succeeding in places they weren’t even attempting too. And to have those ineffective loser have the unmitigated gall to think that they should control us like the Sokovia Accords in Captain America: Civil War. Tried to do with The Avengers. Well let’s just say I’m a Variant of Captain America, myself.

Being new, I started from the beginning this year and favorite is origins but all have something. Origins is a epic dark fantasy that is more strategic.(I only went to the tactics menu to take the fireball away cause I didn't want my noble ranger/duelist to get nuked) DA 2 is a more personal story that's tragic fantasy and streamlined gameplay everything for console. As someone who has sunk entirely to many hours into the game. The hinterlands isn’t bad when you know there’s a lot of quest not worth doing. All you need to do is get the agents from there and then leave. You’ll have more than enough power, levels, and gear.
@lumina11042 жыл бұрын
One recommendation for the Hinterlands is to stand at the little passage past the dragonlings. Use a mage with winter's grasp and a cold-based staff. You can whittle down the Fereldan Frostback. It won't be a quick defeat, but from the right spot, the dragon can't hit you. If you do it early enough, you can gain multiple levels from the 1 fight thanks to the XP for the kill, plus you can pick up some good loot early. It might take +20 minutes if you do it really early, but it is worth it. The key rests in getting past the dragonlings and finding that safe spot to target the dragon from.

Which is why its my favorite. Side note- I became obsessed with hunting down dragons and crafting. I loved boss killing more than anything and the materials and loot were amazing for crafting and builds. Inquisition sucked to me. One of the worst AAA games I beat. That's one reason. Main reason was the combat was way too easy even though I played on Nightmare. No strategy. Origins (found out PC was way harder so most probably don't know) and 2 on Nightmare was great difficulty. Lots of strategy involved. In Inquisition, I killed almost all enemies with basic abilities. Kick and attack killed most things no problem. Another reason I hated it was I couldn't romance the only character I wanted to romance. She was gay. I didn't like most of the characters. Felt dull. Story just sucked in general to me. It's continued from DLC which I didn't do. Ends on DLC too. That part is sorta on me, but at the same time, when no other game does this, not really. Plus a game needs to stand on it's own. Last reason was the world. It was boring, empty, mounts were just as slow as you, and most quests were fetch quests and felt like an MMO. Overrated? You could say that lol

I've played through DAI once and restarted it twice. I'm currently playing thru as an Elven archer rogue because a lot of the time I find all the running around needed to play a fighter/warrior in combat a bit boring. The one thing I'm finding troublesome is all the fetch-type quests; collecting shards and etc. I'm dreading doing the Orlesian Court section where you spend time running around looking for the twenty wooden horse toys because the moment I accidentally find the first one I'll become obsessed with "gotta get'em all!" I did my first play-thru as an Elven mage and this time I wanted especially to chase the romance with egg-head, er, Solas because I want to learn everything I can about him to have a better understanding of what's going on in the next game. I also did a start game as a Qunari warrior just to try something different and maybe see if we get any more Qunari lore but the game got aborted and lost during an OS crash. I have a theory about who the Qunari are and I'd like to see if I can find any corroborating evidence besides what's already obviously in the game and expansions.

9:15 part of the reason why ME: Andromeda was so rough is because they had a bunch of inexperienced people working on the game. For example, the lead facial animator (Allie Rose-Marie Leost) was a cosplayer and makeup artist with zero experience in game development. The Frostbite engine is already a bad choice for these types of games, so throwing people with no experience into the mix was never going to end well.

It's a great underrated game. It's funny saying that given that it won GOTY, but it receives too much harsh criticism. I really do think a lot of people play the game the "wrong" way. If you stay in one area the whole time as if you were in Witcher 3 exploring Velen, then yes, the game begins to feel empty. I'm convinced this is not how the game was intended to be played. The different large areas complement the main content and provide a great cool-down from doing the main missions, companion quests, and talking to your companions in the hub world to build your relationships. Also, I simply never bothered trying to 100% complete the game, so ignoring some of the more trifling collectibles was easy (and it's not like you get a worse ending for doing so). The story is incredible, the choices are great, and Trespasser is the best Dragon Age DLC of all time hands down. I can't wait for the fourth game.

I miss this game so much. I'm itching to play it but I told myself to open up to the ones I've not played before (this lead me to Bioshock recently, I'm not mad!). I played all of DA games and this one appeals to me the most. The companions, the atmosphere, music... Just last night I had a dream with Solas in it. Loved it. Love him as well. How would have thought a grumpy bald elf would turn out to be a hidden gem. It's why DAI is my favourite, the characters. It's a shame this game doesn't have a first person view, the details are lost in the third perspective. I downloaded an engine for screenshots (lets you roam) and I was beyond shocked how beautiful everything is. And as for nudity I THINK Casandra's and Sera's romance has it, but I've not played them so I can't be certain.

This was my first DA game back in 2014 and I loved it. The gameplay was good and the story, especially the twist and its subsequent follow up in the DLC's are perfect. And the music is spot on! I still hum the tunes to this day. My only only gripe with the game is the large empty environments and the more tedious quests like the shards. All in all, a pretty solid game. I don't want to be to negative so I will start with my positive thoughts. Yeah the games visuals still hold up okay, it isn't Ghosts of Tsushima but it isn't bad by any means. The characters are really strong and well written. The negatives much stronger than I think a lot of people think. The game play, especially combat animations, don't hold up to modern standards, the job board becomes a hinder mid game has you end up waiting for the table to make progress on quests.
