First time playing this game this year, and when he says "probably best discussed after you 'wake up'" that gave me so much chills I love it. I understand why people both love and hate Solas. But as a character in general he is built beyond measure. His actions, wording, and reactions are all constructed for what he really is. The writers have taken every detail to make sure that it isn't obvious from the start but once played through is obvious. His development as a character as well is what makes him in my opinion one of the best characters and romance partners in Inquisition.

Out of all the romaces this one is my favorite the whole star crossed lovers thing between elf inquisitor and solas is really hard to resist. I love and hate solas character mainly due to him speaking in rhymes and riddles and that snarky attitude he can have does have a big heart underneath it all. Also like Morrigan is for the warden in Origins I feel Solas is the real canon romance for the Inquisitor because no one other romance seems to impact the story quite as powerfully.

I feel like there were hints about solas. He has a tendency of slipping up. For me, a big thing to notice was “you were never going to wake up. How could you? A MORTAL sent physically through the fade?” That’s an odd way to describe someone when you’re also supposed to be mortal. Usually people might use elf instead of mortal lol that’s just me anyway.

I think he said it largely because no mortal has ever been sent physically through the Fade, it is said that the Maker resides there (which is also funny, because it is Solas who by creating the Veil seperated the world and the Fade, and he walks through there regularly, just not physically). When the Inquisitor opens the rift in one of the quests, and sends everyone directly into the fade, he gets so excited lol.

Yeah, I can definitely see the similarities. *SPOILERS They both say the relationship is a bad idea but do it anyway. They both have identity issues. They both have some ultimate pressing issue that turns them away from their love. Even their dialogue can be similar. There's a scene where Solas says in another world during *the* scene, and Anders, if you break up with him after the Chantry explosion will say in another life a couple like us would be together (not the exact words). End SPOILERS But I don't know. Even with all that I absolutely adore Solas while Anders left a bad taste in my mouth. I romanced both of them for my first play through and I cannot get enough of Solas! Anders, however, can stay far away from my first Hawke and me.

I'm playing right now with my elf-Solas Romance, I have to say I LOVEEEEE Cullen, I love Dorian too and I find... "funny" Iron Bull Romance, Blackwall.. I don't have an opinion about it (because I still have to romance him :P) and Sera? Well... is not my fav. character so her romance is "meh" for me, (Thanks for sharing it Fluffy because I don't know if I will romance her), liked Cassandra Romance too. But Solas... Well, Solas (even more now that I know who he is and what happens after the credits etc etc) is, imho, one of the most interesting romances of this game, when they haven't released the game and they announced the romanceable characters and they said Solas, I can't tell you that my reaction was "That old man, that only talks about the Veil balablabalbal" XD Now... (Sorry Cullen) I have to say that I LOVE (romancing him or not) to talk with him, it's really interesting and his romance... I'm loving every part of it (so far). FluffyNinjaLlama I think it's because he's afraid of hurting her with the real truth. More so, having his love possibly fearing or even rejecting him if he gave it all away too soon. Considering his god status reputation, and the way he displays himself, he's probably terrified of what could happen. True, he has his duties, but his heart matters too. Nonetheless, he's the beast; the big bad wolf, trying to protect his beauty; little red, by not giving the whole truth, and breaking her heart. Maybe that's why there was no sex scene for him? I could see why he'd abstain from it, if it were an option. It's like he treasures levallen and enjoys the current life he's living, and wants to perhaps be a (butt grabbing) gentleman and do right by her. He doesn't want things to fall apart, considering his actions reveal that he's a self sacrificing wolf. I couldn't see a sex scene happening until after levellan learns the truth. And the truth may give closure, but it won't necessarily mend things and could affect their relationship for better or worse. By not giving whole truths, Solas does appears like he has a deep fear of rejection. Who could blame him?

So I'm romancing Cullen for my second play-through (Trespasser destroyed me, obvs), and I just happened to trigger this event for Solas again, and IT HURTS!!!!! Did he stick with anybody else like that? Cause he was legit an intellectual girl's dream before he fucks you over.

Ok so maybe the last time I tried his romance it was a bug... but when I got to this scene in Haven with a female elf I didn't get the option to kiss him. I had flirted with others in game but I hadn't done anything to lock myself into a romance with anyone... was it a bug you think? because the very first time I romance solas I flirted with everyone just for fun and it still worked :/

Normally you have to glirt with him from the very beginning till the end but what do I know I'm new at this 😆
