The warrior and rogue lines are do much better. I think they're smoother and the way his voice lowers. I'd even call it sultry, like his eyes were lingering on her figure as he spoke them, only to snap back to attention when he realized his gaze was wandering. I never expected this egg to be so smooth and BREAK MY HEART. He also has the best friggen kiss scenes, I think.

So I knew nothing about the lore or anything. I completely fell head over heels for Solas. And my lady elf followed suit. It was so fucking heartbreaking. And the worst is that--I was suspicious of Solas from the very beginning. And there were tiny things he did that just didn't fit together. But I was totally taken in by his calm demeanor that was hiding this searing intensity and passion that he had inside. I loved it. And at the reveal, I was like: GODDAMMIT WHAT NO NONONO.

What gets me about Solas that he is so bloody suave and forward from the very beginning... why would he put himself in an open position like that if he knew that it could never last?! Was the flirting a deflection tactic? I kind of like the idea of him being a shameless flirt in his past and he finds himself enjoying his conversations with Lavellan so much that he forgets himself and slips back into it. Ugh! Solas, you will be the death of me.

You were the one who started with tongue~" "I did *not!"* Solas is smooth as silk, but is like that because he's used to being the instigator, so when someone flicks it around back at him, he tends to lock up a bit, which i found really funny. Because i have to agree with ylur headcannon, Solas so was a shameless flirt when he was younger. You don't get that good with pick-up lines unless you practice. XD

Also to consider: the first "flirting" option that happens with him, isn't even a flirt, but it establishes so much in a way that this is the first Dalish that shows him any care - he does say that any previous Dalish he met and offered knowledge to, just attacked him. He has doubts about staying, because he is an apostate surrounded by the Chantry during a mage rebellion. She can reassure him: "You came here to help, Solas. I won’t let them use that against you." "How would you stop them?" "However I had to." And there is the first time you can see him caught off guard, paused, surprised, and reluctantly, humbly saying "Thank you." I never recruit templars, but I really like the flirt option that is available after that mission, because of how subtle, yet meaningful it is. "You are a surprising person, Solas." "This campaign promises to be full of surprises." She surprises him, from the start. By the time the Fade scene happens, he admits she changes everything, and he says that maybe they can continue with their connection, but he needs time, because there are "considerations". By the time the Crestwood scene happens, he wanted to reveal her the truth, but chickens out at the last moment.

Okay okay, I used to just like Solas's company and thought nothing of him-he was just that side kick who added the information I needed when needed. But then on Deviant art one of the people I follow posted artwork of her Inquisitor and Solas being romantic in tarot cards and I was like "0-0 ooooh" so I became slightly interested in him. I was like halfway through the game (after The Winter Palace) when I went high and low trying the fuck to flirt with the guy (lots of googling. I had no idea what I was doing first time through the game, didn't even know half the shit that happens in haven coULD happen bc I just didn't knowww) and I was rogue so he said the grace line. My jaw literally dropped and I fucking swooned at that comment. I felt so attacked and so unprepared at that particular moment I was like "how in the fuck could they just make my Inquisitor GIGGLE at that. she is also waaaay too fuckin smooth for this" like the rogue line gets me every time. One thing I never truly understood since I finished Trespasser was how much Solas actually told us the truth. When he says how he grew up in a village to the north, we find out from Leliana at the end of Inquisition that it never existed, but is everything else he said about how he used to "walk the Fade" true, like, how he used to sleep in ancient ruins and battlefields and travel to find more? And how he interacted with the spirits like in his personal quest? How much of that was truth?

Leliana figured that meant he completely lied about where he came from but given Solas' age, he was probably telling the truth. He grew up in a village to the north and what not, he just did it a few thousand years ago in places that have long since fell to ruin. Lies of omission.

I assume the next game will pick up where Inquisition left off, the Solas hunt, but with new characters and possibly the inquisitor? As a non-playable character of course, but to hear your inquisitor speak of their romance would be romantic, tragic, chilling and incredibly satisfying, that’s my canon romance, my elven mage and him. I even chose Rift Mage to be like him, we were Rift buddies.
