@tristanpena90457 жыл бұрын
I romanced Solas with an elf who never really lost her cool. She was only sad when Solas left her, didn't lash out or anything. By Trespasser, almost everyone has left the Inquisition, Varric and Dorian's breaks from the Inquisition are permanent, and Solas is still missing. She's tired of the Inquisition, but starts the talks with Fereldan and Orlais determined to keep the Inquisition around. Partly out of spite, but because her clan is dead it's all she has left. When the mark starts to hurt again, she's pissed for the first time. She lashes out at her advisors, and is pissed when she found out she can add Solas to the list of people who've lied to her. When she meets him again, she forgets it all and talks to him. Then she faces the sad realization that she'll have to fight him, and then loses her arm. By the time she's back, she is more angry than she's ever been and she disbands the Inquisition. Angry is the best option in my opinion, only because it fits my canon Inquisitor so well
@cracmar037 жыл бұрын
I actually understood why some of those got to their lives. Like Dorian or Varric (Varric place is at Hawke's side to the end of time for me) so that wasn't the factor. However even if I kept on Lavellan her clan alive she couldn't just go back to them. Solas removed her vellaslin, and the truth about him or Mythal ... how could she come back with knowledge that everything in her culture is a lie ? A big freaking lie. She stayed in Inquistion, for clan good - out of her knowledge and her uselessness, she was a huntress but now she has no hand to be archer anymore, and because she needs to stop Solas. Also she treated even advisors (Cullen and Josephine at least) as friends. So I kept Inquisition to help Cassandra (new divine) even if Verissa Lavellan is atheist now. She had nowhere to go anymore.
@drakeford48605 жыл бұрын
4 years later, and this remains the best singular moment in the entirety of DA. I remember vividly what was in my mind at the time- that last conversation with Solas had jogged my memory, and reminded me very much of another. What was I planning to do with the Inquisition once all was said and done, he had asked. My answer at the time had been simple and straightforward: to keep it around, and to surround myself with good and trustworthy people to guide it and myself. I had expected him to nod along and praise my great benevolence and sagacity, but he instead surprised me. He called me foolish and said: "While one selfless man can walk away from the lure of power's corruption no group has ever done so." At the time, I didn't fully grasp his point. I hadn't quite written it off as the baseless sentiment of a cynic (he had earned too much of my respect for that), but I still believed that he was fundamentally incorrect. After that conversation though, things changed. Thedas, Orlais, the Inquisition, and even myself. When the beginning of Tresspasser rolled around, I was dead-set on holding on to the Inquisition. We had stopped wars, made rulers, killed a would-be god, and saved all of Thedas, and there was still work to be done- so much work to be done. I was angry at these blasted, ungrateful bureaucrats grasping at control of the organization that had saved them, and afraid of what they would do to it, or worse, with it. That was where I stood, right up until finally catching up to Solas. He was dead-set on his course. He had all the power in the world, and he was going to bring it to bear for what he thought was right- damn the opinions of anyone else. That conversation was quite like looking into mirror. That realization is what brought my mind back to that earlier conversation, and what helped me to finally understand it. "While one selfless man can walk away from the lure of power's corruption no group has ever done so." Solas had failed to walk away. _I_ had failed to walk away. We had both let our ambition- our will to do right- overpower our sense of what _was_ right. I had been willing to step on the wishes and wills of the very people I had fought to save in order to change the world for what I thought to be the better- their opinions and beliefs be damned. Though perhaps my means were less cataclysmic, my intentions had become no different Solas or Corrypheus. Listening to those voices as the screen sat black, I finally recognized that Ferelden, Orlais, and even the Divine had all been thinking in the same exact way I had- thinking of how they could use the Inquisition to change the world, or fearing how I might do so in their stead. They weren't just a bunch of greedy, selfish bureaucrats. They were me. But there was still time enough to fix what I had gotten wrong. The Inquisition hadn't yet been wrestled from my hands, and one selfless man could still walk away before his power fell into the hands of a group that never would. After defending both the existence of the Inquisition and it's autonomy since the moment he had arrived, my Trevelyan disbanded the organization, half angry with those seeking to control it, and half angry at himself for being controlled by it. No more unlimited power. No more unchecked authority. Then, he set to work. He was going to save his friend from himself, just as his friend had saved him.
@gabriels.minussi3805 жыл бұрын
I also debanded the inquisition. For me, Solas was trying to say that if i wish to had a chance to stop him and prove that he was wrong again, that would be the only way. it is nice to see someone who had so many thoughts on this matter.
@aglazeddoughnut52504 жыл бұрын
And this is why the Inquisitor NEEDS to have a major role in DA4. I would prefer them being the protagonist, as the ending of Inquisition just so perfectly sets up the Inquisitor going after Solas themselves, I can see them taking a more background role like Leliana. After that whole series of events, after all that you have done and seen, and after all you know, it just doesn’t make sense for the Inquisitor to let someone else solve their problem. Yeah you only have one arm, but this is a world with magic and artifice, either make them a badass metal hand if they are a warrior or rogue, or a god damn hand made of pure arcane power if they are a mage, tie a skill tree or some other system to it so it can get its own cool abilities, and bam, you get a neat new mechanic on top of keeping a character who is already invested in the core conflict of your new game.

@@aglazeddoughnut5250 if you befriend Sera, it's hinted that inky joins the Red Jennies with a crossbow arm attachment (it says inky joins them, but a figure in the foreground of the slide obscured by the edges is someone with a crossbow attached to where their left arm would be). Doesn't show that for romance, since the trigger is the offer she gives you when first talking to her at the start of Trespasser (high approval + not romanced = "become a Jenny?", romanced = "marry me?"), but hints at inky and Sera working together in some capacity with the Red Jennies, just not exactly stated as with the non-romanced version
@xenon81173 жыл бұрын
@@aglazeddoughnut5250 I really want the Inky to be DA4 protagonist but 2 issues will probably be what stops that. 1: They will have to bother working with a missing hand. Given this is something every Inky has though that's something that should be easy and would be really nice to see work. 2: DAI was out in 2014, new players won't have a connection to Inky. How many people have only played DAI and not origins and 2? With it being so long ago console players won't have the flexibility of going back like pc players. I still think having Inky as protag can work but those 2 ideas feel like the reason it won't happen.

Whats also sad is i used to love Teagan in Origins and then he came back an ass, heck Alistair wasn't as much a jerk in two or inquisition (at least the logic behind some of his actions can be explained) but Teagan just out right doesn't like you for two reasons, one you either sided with the mages or templars, and two because you are doing everyone elses fricken job because no one in thedas in higher power seems to be able to do their own fricken job.
@hotlover0000000000007 жыл бұрын
I get where Teagan is coming from, though. He witnessed the actions of the Wardens during the Fifth Blight and saw that the Inquisition was becoming almost the same in that regard, an overly powerful organization capable of doing whatever they want without anyone to reign them in. Besides, they had no further purpose, the reason they were created had been dead for two years yet their entire army was still there on the Fereldan border, looking menacing as hell. Then to top it all off he finds out they're riddled with spies, both from the Qunari *and* from Solas, so perhaps Maker knows who else, Tevinter perhaps, also had spies in there. They just weren't necessary anymore. It's like Mother Giselle said: the old Inquisition fought, and when their battle was over they laid down their blades.
@heyjoji19546 жыл бұрын
Gianni Bodeutsch valid points but where will you get your army if you disband instead of removing a problem let's try to solve it and make it near impossible to have spies in the inquisition
@hotlover0000000000006 жыл бұрын
How would you do that? There's no way to make it near impossible to have spies in the Inquisition, that's the point of spies. You can never tell who or where they are. The Qunari have spies of every race, Solas uses elves but that doesn't mean you should just exclude every elf that joins up, and unless you catch them red handed trying to feed information to the enemy, the only way you could do anything is by constantly monitoring new recruits, which would be a huge undertaking that the Inquisition would not have time for. Besides, Leliana has her own spies, people she trusts with her life and they trust her with their life. Those are the only people you need, not for a full-fledged army but for a small, dedicated group capable of shaking empires. Contrary to an army, a small group of spies is much more manageable and unless you're planning to lay a siege, they're also much more efficient. They can infiltrate and eliminate targets with ease. By keeping the Inquisition and joining the Chantry, you're opening them up to even more corruption in the ranks, namely the clerics themselves, who are far from trustworthy. Then you'd just have spies from everywhere INCLUDING the Chantry, which is hardly an improvement. And honestly, if the Inquisition really would need to rise again because the threat of Fen'Harel becomes too grand, the people would join. They've seen what the Inquisition is capable of and what they stand for, so they would put their faith in the Inquisitor once again and fight.

I like the optimistic one. It's a quiet way of going dark. With Leliana's spies and Josephine's contact, the remnants of the inquisition will be a feared, nameless organization with one purpose : do whatever it costs to stop Solas. "Restore order, with or without anyone's approval" But the sight of a one-armed elven woman, saying "I have a world to save, again" while walking away aggressively is a sight to behold.
@bradtorville5526 Жыл бұрын
It's a pity that whatever you choose at that point will most likely not have any effect whatsoever on Dragon Age: Dreadwolf because that's been the trend of the first three games. Sure, it will be set in Tevinter and some characters from this game may be mentioned, even make very minor cameo appearances but it won't have any significant impact on DA4 at all most likely. It'll be set years after Trespasser when most characters aren't even active anymore. Player will turn up as some new protagonist with a different means of doing combat to try and track down whatever new crisis that threatens the world Solas thinks up for tearing down the Veil.

I always disband because becoming the divines “honor guard” is literally not much different then what happened with the first inquisition and the corrupt templars and seekers came out of it. Yes leliana/cassandra/vivienne are suppose to have “reformed” the chantry, but it still is basically restoring the world to the status quo, just with different people. It was what Inquisition was afterall, Cassandra told me. It is created when the world needs it the most and disbands when things begins to settle down. Power corrupts and I didn't want to be corrupted like Templer Order or Chantry. We restored the Chantry, we restored the Templers, and Circle of Magi, we restrored the Grey Wardens and defetead bad-Corphy.. so.. it was time to move on. But the events in DLC, Qunari threat, nobles' fearfull asses, non-ending questions threats politics games, my hand, I was so fed up and I chose to disband it agressively. The best choice really. I am satisfied. I also told Solas that I will stop him, even if it means killing him. Looking forward to the 4th game.. I will do everything to protect people I love -my people- as Solas put it. Yeah you don't need inquisition to save the world just look at the fifth blight and how two young grey warden, one is new rookie and the other super new rookie ended the fucking blight without the proper organization backing them up especially early in the origin storyline honestly the inquisition and inquisitor had easier job than the hero of Ferelden just because of the legitimacy from divine justinia writ and the declaration from right and left hand of the divine despite hero of Ferelden and Alistair having the op treaty to recruit anyone (even forcefully) especially during the blight

I've played DAI multiple times but only played Trespasser once, and I think I kept the Inquisition at the end. Whilte I doubt I'd ever disband it, I do enjoy seeing how it happens here.

I chose the agreeable option. I wanted to thank the volunteers who put their lives on the line to fight for us & to show the snotty diplomats they couldn’t get to me. Best to go out with class, I say.

My favourite is the sad one, I think it sounds the most professional; aggressive sounds quite petty.

I was so fucking disappointed in what the Inquisition became. To be clear, I don't mean like I thought the writing was bad. This story was great. But, damn, I was so upset with all the people responsible for fucking up the organization I created. I started this DLC trying to defend my beloved organization. But, by the end of it, my heart was broken as I realized it had to end. I hadn't made my decision completely until the choice was laid out in front of me here. I spent so long weighing every option. In the end, I chose the sad disbanding option. And, it just felt the most satisfying. I can't imagine any of the other speeches being as canon for my character.

Just completed my second run of this game as an elf (again, it just works)... I went with the angry disband 😂. At that moment I was just annoyed by everything. Did the aggressive rant before heading out to stop the Qunari because everything I had gone wrong, Solas had upset me because i want the elves to return to their former glory but not by killing all our friends and then to top it all off I had just lost an arm! So those bitches fighting over the fate of my Inquisition was just like no no. Didn't save the world for such an ungrateful response! So boom, fuck em.

This DLC was made for pissed off Inquisitors tired of dealing with everyone's bullshit. Angry and aggressive options had the best lines! I also disbanded Inquisition like a boss, partially to cut off access to it's recourses for various spies and saboteurs in our ranks, and partially because fuck it, deal with your problems on your own, I had to focus on really important thing.

+Isaiah Moore I'm more for disbanding. I feel like the Inquizzy can do much more with just a small group of trusted allies instead of big, corrupted organization. That said, I feel like some of my Inquisitors would rather keep the Inquisition, the way I roleplayed them, and so they did.

If you spoke to her frequently, and told her that it would be best to put the swords away when the job is done, and mentioned it again at the start of trespasser again. It should cut to her if you chose the middle option, cassie will nod at the first part, and Giselle will nod at the part youd discussed with her from the beginning. My first playthrough did that... And i somehow converted a Dalish Rogue to an Andrastian OOPS! So my canon quizzie triggered the disband talk and ignored her from then on. Unless he had to talk to her. My fem quizzie just got angrier and angrier. Flipped out about the mark, essentially told Solas to fuck off, and threw the book down and stormed out to go pet her husbands dog and go visit his family xD

That’s depends on your story. Mages fighting for freedom? Templar’s looking to restore order in a world gone mad? Lelliana would have you believe that love is the makers greatest gift, and *that’s* what most people in the inquisition were fighting for. Others, such as Vivienne, are out *seeking* power.

@CertifiedFanficLover6 жыл бұрын
While Solas may Have a bigger army and we are one armed inquisitor we may be able to beat him Even If we're smaller. We Have old friends as allies and that would sound good(Unless we Have another Iron Bull situation)So i would choose the angry disband
@natethahgr89319 жыл бұрын
This is a serious scene, but the reaction from the audience when you say the Inquisition is now disbanded is like, 'oh the horror!!' Haha Honestly I think the Inquisition staying intact is the best solution, but I suppose we'll have to wait and see how either ending plays out in DA4

I always chose the aggresive option because fuck em all. Have the corruptable Grey Wardens save you all from the next inevitable Blight. I am going on vacation with Iron Bull to be tied up like a Thanksgiving turkey ✌️ This wasn't even a true blight, and the people in power were falling apart and playing politics. Good luck, and I am sorry to the people at the bottom... but my Inquisitor had enough.

I'm always in favor of disbanding the damn thing. It's become too unwieldy, too easily corruptible, and more of a burden than a help. Plus, I'm sick to death of the council's whining. Let them solve their own problems for a change. They were completely incapable of doing so before and that's unlikely to change. Let them stew in their own juices for a while.
